Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I did...Some cute things but I only buy on clearance and yet it seems very hard to find any of the cute things once they hit clearance so someone must be buying full price. I find the clearance to generally be a bunch of boring solid colored t shirts..This weekend was no exception so I walked out with nothing but bought things in other stores in the mall instead.

  2. I did visit to see the new arrivals. The two things I wanted were excluded from the promotion, so I left without buying anything. Sale room full of t-shirts and summer things that no one seems to want.

  3. I need a few new tops and have checked out new arrivals in store twice. Left without even trying anything on. Waiting, waiting for shirts available in petite sizes that are not gingham or navy striped. Where oh where are the fall/winter clothes?

  4. Stopped in to make a return but left empty handed. I found as others did nothing good on the sale racks. Did not try on anything new on either. Waiting for next rollout and hoping there is more to love.

  5. I had an order arrive on Friday:

Collection merino cardigan with sequins - the sequins are blue, rust, and cream colored so not what I was expecting. Fit beautifully and could be worn buttoned up on its own. Weight is about the same as a tippi. Not sure it's worth full price to me so it's going back - but was a tough call

Cape scarf in gray ivory - very pretty and warm. Maybe a bit too voluminous on me. On the fence

Navy striped funnel neck shirt - loved and wore all weekend. A little boxy but not an issue. For $27 on sale this will be a regular weekend item for me.

Wool sailor skirt in honey color - runs small for sure and took larger of my skirt sizes. Nice weight to the wool, seems well made, and I love the color. Good length for work - am 5'7

Drakes birds of paradise Gemma flats. Was waiting for a sale and snapped these up. Beautiful colors and fit like other Gemma's. Love.

Waiting on argyle Jackie set to arrive.

(Apologies for any names that are not quite correct - writing from my tablet)

  6. Had a chance to try on a two items from the random return area:

FULL-LENGTH TROUSER IN GLEN PLAID: love these. I take a 4 or (more often these days) 6. The store only a 4 and it was very tight, I think a 6 would be right. The fabric was a good weight (not too thin) and the best part is that pants are fully lined! Colors are beautiful in person and the price is reasonable and appropriate at $138.

Also tried the COLLECTION PLEATED WIDE-LEG PANT IN RATTI® GEOMETRIC TILE PRINT. The store had a 6 and they just fit - some people might size up in these. The colors were a huge disappointment - they looked very vibrant online but were not in person. They are a lightweight silk and also fully lined. These were not flattering and would probably only work well on those who are both tall and thin. Price is way to high at $398.

  7. I visited the Pacific Centre Vancouver store after an absence of over a month. Sale had gone down from 40% to 30% off presumably while the blanket discount on $125 or $200 is running. Sale section was full of the same old bright summer tees which have been there for a couple of months, just not moving in this season, and seemingly no push from Jcrew to resticker at a lower price to shift some stale inventory out.

Pacific Centre store was looking very sparsely stocked, particularly towards the back section where they appear to have removed a couple of tables which used to have flat laid merchandise set out. My first impression had me wondering whether this store was reducing stock and getting ready to close out since it is in an expensive mall location, only carries the women's line and has a competing JCrew womens/mens store not far away on Robson Street. Hopefully I caught it just between re-merchandising days. Left sad and empty handed!

  8. I noticed the Avery colorblock suede heels in a size 7 and 8 on the site just now. I didn't go to the store this weekend but I ordered these since they got such rave reviews!

    1. I also received the wool-cashmere cape on Saturday. It is 75% wool, 21% nylon, and 4% cashmere. I'm not sure if I agree with the reviewers stating that it runs so big. I am usually an xs/s or 2-4 and I ordered the smallest size (xxs-xs) based on the reviews. It fits but I don't love the fit in this size and am going to try the next size up for comparison. I think if you're petite sizing down is recommended. But, if you are average to tall I would so it is tts or maybe even size up. I am only 5'4" but I have a long torso and long arms. I hope this helps someone.
