Madewell Insider Club!

Madewell just created an "Insider Club" with lots of perks. According to the site:

WHAT IS MADEWELL INSIDER? Madewell Insider is our free U.S. loyalty program that rewards you based on how much you shop. The more you spend, the more (and better) perks you get. Yep, it’s that easy and that good.

HOW DO I JOIN MADEWELL INSIDER? All you have to do is create an account online or sign up for an account with an associate in one of our stores. The program is entirely free to join—there’s no minimum spending amount required. So go ahead, get in on those benefits.

WHAT BENEFITS DO MADEWELL INSIDER MEMBERS GET? The benefits of the program vary depending on your tier status, but all Madewell Insiders receive a birthday gift, free shipping, free returns, free monogramming and more. The breakdown of perks according to tier status is in the chart below. Visit our Terms and Conditions page to view full program details.

Definitely worth checking out!

Are you already an insider at Madewell? What are your thoughts on the perks? Do you think this is a good loyalty program?

  1. I'm excited about this, mainly for the free returns. I'll now be much more likely to try things out. Some of my all-time favorite pieces of clothing are from Madewell.

There are some cute things in their new arrivals. However, it seems like Madewell has two main top shapes: oversized with dropped shoulders and cropped with set-in shoulders. How about switching those up a bit? ; )

    1. They've had some really cute tops that are too cropped for me. Some cropped tops you can layer under, but not the ones I've wanted so I've had to pass on them. I also wish they'd change it up a bit.

    2. I agree. I used to buy a few items from Madewell each year a few years ago, but I haven't liked anything for several years. I have been tempted by their shoes. Does anyone know how comfortable they are? I still like their jewelry.

    3. St - how does the jewelry hold up? Does it discolor in time?

    4. I have a Madewell bracelet I bought on sale for $8 last spring- I wear it almost every day and it's holding up great. I also have earrings. No discoloration. The jewelry is really at the same level as at Anthropologie.

    5. Sorry for the late reply, JSR. I agree with the American Observer.

    6. JSR, I have not had any problem with Madewell jewelry discoloring.

    7. Same here. My Madewell jewelry, earrings and necklaces, have held up well. I wear the earrings a lot. They are in my top favs.

  2. Free monogramming and standard shipping (as opposed to just economy) are nice perks! I return to my local store, so that's not an issue for me, but it seems like w nice program.

  4. I just want to be able to use my Jcrew card at Madewell. That would be an excellent perk.

    1. I've been saying that for years. Obviously, this is their compromise. Not sure why they won't do it.

    2. The J Crew Credit Card Rewards program pales in comparison to other retailers. I think Comenity is the block since they're the issuing bank. And perhaps since J. Crew has probably already heard from dissatisfied customers, they don't want to add Madewell confusion into the mix. Perhaps it would extend their contract with Comenity. It's always my fantasy that whatever agreement they have will come to an end date and J. Crew can move to another issuing bank.

    3. Good call, Gigi. I think that JC uses Madewell to test waters, too. Didn't madewell.com have reviews quite a while before JC did?

  5. Hmmmm...so Madewell's no-strings-attached loyalty program sounds more attractive to me than J Crew's cardholder benefits. :/ Glad to see it, but wish Jc would get on board.

  9. I'm excited about this loyalty program! I've been loving Madewell lately and it shows as I'm $64 away from Icon status! Oops! But the free monogramming, shipping upgrades and free returns are HUGE benefits IMO. Step it up JCrew!

    1. Hi Pamela, I am currently showing Muse status on the website myself. Is there a page where you can see how close you are to Icon status or did you do the math yourself? Thanks in advance!

    2. Hi Lindsey F - when you sign in to your Madewell account, it should land on a page that shows your current status. It also tells you how much more $$$ you need to spend to move up to the next tier on that same page.

    3. Thank you Melissa! Off to check!

  10. Fine print says "when your gifts are ready for redemption" so wonder if they'll be % off or other gift certificates. I'm Icon status already and pleased to see it'll already carry over through 2017- free expedited shipping is dangerous to my wallet but a smart move by Madewell.

  11. I'm excited about it-- I mean, I was hoping that Madewell would eventually accept the JC credit card and that those rewards would be redeemable at either store, and this isn't that. But...it's much better than nothing! Plus, I'm already Muse status, almost Icon.
