If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Is anyone else having issues with Madewell's mobile site lately? I can access main sections (eg sale, new arrivals) but get an error message whenever I try to click through to an individual product page. I'm on Android, if that makes a difference.

    2. Yeah, I did too. But I rarely open my emails from Jcrew since I have this site ;)

  3. I wish they'd just have 30% off sale rather than the $200 minimum...there's one or two things I'd grab online with the sale but...really don't want to hit that minimum. Guess we'll see what tomorrow's promotion brings!

    1. I am with you on the weird sleeves. I like to layer & the strangely-shaped sleeves make it impossible to do that!

    2. What is going on this season? Where are all the sweaters and cold weather layers? It should take me an hour to browse through all the new arrivals but there's so little. It currently looks like early fall - a transitional collection. Please direct me to a previous conversation if it has already been discussed. I stumped!

    3. I ordered 2 tees (polka dot and elephants) and they are whisper thin...I have no idea why they are part of a winter roll out. I also agree on the jeans, I desperately need to replace some of my toothpicks but every time I try the new ones in store the fabric just makes me cringe.

    4. Yes, totally agree with you on the jeans! I have bought some really nice cotton jeans from Madewell this year. If anyone has other suggestions I'm all ears. Also, not only are their very few sweaters and warm fabrics, I feel like the prints are very springy.

    5. I have had great luck with Gap jeans. The Real Straight jeans are my favorite.

  6. Not really a gripe, but I have a question I'm hoping someone here may know the answer too. What day does J Crew gets new inventory in? I ordered the chateau parka in dusty ginger in a regular size and the sleeves are much too long. I want to order it in a petite size but the only colors currently available are black, red, green and yellow. I am hoping they restock the petite sizes in dusty ginger or other neutral but am not sure if/when this would occur. I'm hesitant to spend money altering the regular size coat since it was so expensive. Thanks.

    2. I find that things update throughout the day without any pattern. I will usually add a different size to my bag and check back on stock by clicking change item in the shopping bag. When it goes back it should reflect the new sizes available. If I'm looking for petite and there is nothing left in stock, I'll add a regular size. If a petite pops back it should show up when I go to change the item. HTH

  7. I wish there was a simple way to tell what entry on the Comenity Bank list ties to which JC order. The way things are, I'm never really comfortable that I've verified the charges.

    1. YES!! I totally agree! I have to match up amounts, and if they split up orders it's even harder to tell. Banana Republic uses Comenity as well, and they are in the process of updating their site, and I've rec'd emails telling how much easier and better it will be...we'll see. If it is, I would guess maybe they will do the same for JCrew sometime soon??

    2. @ Suzy, Banana actually uses Synchrony bank right now, so I hope they don't switch to crappy Comenity going forward! Banana's billing system is better than JC's, as is the reward program they run, so again, I hope BR doesn't change banks in this case. Wish it were the other way around, in fact!

    3. There's a requirement that companies only charge you when they ship the item, not when you place the order. A lot of retailers are now changing their systems to adhere to this regulation. So, you might see different charges as your items are packaged and shipped.

  9. Enough with the vanity sizing! I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs, now often wearing a size 0 in J Crew (what do true size 0 girls buy?!). I'm swimming in their size 6, especially the tops. Or, the fit is inconsistent from item to item--size 0 in one skirt or size 4 in another.

  10. This weekend I have to sew buttons back on a JCrew shirt that I bought last winter. Literally, about half of the buttons have fallen off (placket and cuffs) and it seems to be a consistent issue lately. How come I don't have this issue with shirts from Gap/Banana or any other random store?

    1. I have the exact same problem! Specifically the silk blouses I have bought. They arrive with the buttons hanging by the thread. The cost is about 180.00 CAD and I have to have the buttons reinforced before wearing the blouse.
I have recently discovered that my Paley stretch pants that I have only worn a few times are going shiny on the seat. I can't say it is from the dry cleaning because they haven't been cleaned as yet. I have Paley's from years ago that are perfect. I find J. Crew quality in petites is awful. I have not bought a thing from them in a long time. Much prefer Banana, half the price and so much better quality.
