Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. From Fashionista, http://fashionista.com/2015/06/j-crew The comment about the discussions on the Tippi versus Tilly were interesting, I still want a better Jackie like I used to have...and maybe one in a light yellow to replace the one I lost on a plane 9 years ago :-(

    1. I agree wtih Mickey that the other retailers aren't really that great right now either. I'm not excited about shopping anywhere right now, although I'd say Madewell is best of the bunch for me.

    2. I wonder what cardigan Mickey is referencing in the article. Last fall I was obsessed with the v-neck merino cardigan. It wasn't too long, wasn't too short, made of a nice weight of material, and fit soooooo well. I have six colors. That's the kind of quality I expect from J.Crew. I tried the Tilly and hated it -- still love Tippi.

    3. I am still buying every Tippi I can get my hands on that I can find NWT on eBay or Poshmark. I'm on 36 (between the Charley & Tippi) & still going. I should buy a backup of my black & navy too, probably. It is THE BEST SWEATER EVER & it worries me that they didn't offer it in linen or cashmere last season. I hope Mickey D knows better as to not phase it out now!

    4. Danielle - I love that cardigan! I hope they bring it back for Fall. It is perfect! Mine are holding up pretty well, too.

    5. Taylor, I will be devastated if J.Crew does away with the Tippi!!! And I'm very impressed with your collection -- I have seven, so my stash pales in comparison!! That merino cardigan had great reviews, so I certainly hope they bring it back. I missed the black, but managed to snag the navy in a popback.

    6. Danielle, Taylor - count me in on the love for the V-neck merino cardigan. At first I wrote it off as too short on me but ended up buying several. Still wish it was maybe 2 inches longer but the gauge of merino and the colors were excellent. Let's hope Mickey sees the error in removing the classic items from stores. A nice mix of classics with new & modern styles is what they used to do. It worked, why change it? They really need to bring back those beautiful prints, too. I am still holding on to my printed merino pullovers and cardigans. I will wear them until they fall apart!

    7. Love those merino v neck cardigans from last Fall... Wish I'd bought more, great fit and they haven't fallen apart or pilled to death like most other recent JC sweaters... #revivejcrew

    8. I bought two Tippis last winter and to be honest, I'm not a fan. They are itchy!

    9. I agree. I have 3 of the v-neck cardigans. I, too, would have like them to be a few inches longer. But, the gauge and style are wonderful.

    10. What about Jackie? She was the perfect cardigan until they started messing with quality and fit. They should revamp it and consistently promote it as a staple. It also wouldn't hurt to remind shoppers to monogram. I own a plain black and a mongrammed black one, among others of course.

    11. I miss the Jenna Marino wool cardigan.

That said, There problems are Way bigger than one cardigan mis-styled.

    12. yup Gigi, I have Jackies from 2008 and they are better quality and fit than the one I just bought last month... what happened? Whatever blend they used in the old Jackies was magic - it had recovery, smooth, easy to wash, never looked wrinkly, never pilled. SIGH.

      Delete
    13. The Jackie! I confess I haven't purchased one in years -- the crew neck cut just doesn't flatter my large chest, which is why I gravitate to v-necks. I still have a green one and mustard yellow one from a few years ago. I found the cotton pilled, which is also why it fell out of my favor. Maybe that's around the time the quality went downhill?

  2. Stopped at my B&M store yesterday which is running an additional 50% of sales.
Lots of items but mostly things that have been sitting on sale section for a long time already.

  3. If anyone stops in and could report back on any in store promos I would appreciate it. Considering purchasing on line with the 30% off but want to see what in store is as I have the $20 off $100 that I can use. Thanks!

    2. My store has 50% off of sale and there was a pretty good selection!

    3. There are so many in-store promos, but my PS let me use the 30% online promo (if better than in-store) and stack the 20% cardholder promo! :)

  5. Got up at 4:30 am this morning and snagged on pop-back the Garment dyed Safari popover. I missed this first time around and have been stalking it ever since. Also picked up the calf hair cross slides, some shorts and the tortoise crystal earrings for $17.49. Lord....I need to stop now!

    1. Too funny, Stray Cat! I too was up at 4:30am PST to check what J.Crew marked down. The Woven Diamond Fringe tie belt and Cotton Faille pull-on short went on sale, and ordered it.

Now is a good time to wake up super early to see what will be marked down...we're fast approaching the last roll-out for the summer season, and onto fall! Yes!

      Delete
    2. I'm a shopping guerilla! It's every woman for herself....hee! I bought the woven fringe belt and have worn it several times with shorts and jeans. It's super cute. I usually don't pay much attention to the early fall rollout but this year I think I will take a good hard look. I don't think the inventory is as much as it was in the past on some items and I want to make sure I don't miss anything.....so I don't have to make a habit of getting up at 4:30 am to check for popups!

      Delete
    3. Oh cool. I can't wait to wear it how J.Crew styled it online: White v-neck tee, Regent stripe linen blazer, and crop jeans.

So I checked the Cotton Faille pull-on shorts on the website, and its not on sale anymore, it's back to $49.50. I think it was a mistake on J.Crew's part for marking it down. I paid $20.65 for it with the 30% promo. I haven't seen J.Crew make those mistakes in a while.. :-) It pays to wake up that early!

    4. Yah I ordered something on popup yesterday that was excluded from the sale. I think it's just because it was so popular. I'm just glad I got it. I hope I love it too. I've placed so many orders I've had to make a spread sheet to keep organized. I'm not kidding.

      Delete
    5. Lol, straycat! At least you are organized. I've made lists before but I'm sure a spreadsheet is better!

  6. I may go and see if they have the linen dip dye dress (item C7213). Has anyone seen this in person? It's back ordered online, but has three glowing reviews. It's eligible for 30% off right now, so it's probably a good time to snag it. I'm hoping it has some shape and is not just a sack.

    3. Just ordered it one size down, after talking with CS to get some measurements for comparison.
Confused and annoyed that it is now "Pre-Order". It wasn't that way yesterday. I called several times throughout the day to get the measurements, but couldn't because of their computer problems. I totally understand this, so I patiently waited to call again. What I don't understand is, when I spoke with CS last evening she told me not to worry, they had plenty in stock in both of the sizes I was considering. How does an item that wasn't Pre-order initially, go from "plenty of stock" to "Pre-order"? Is this just another way of saying "backordered"?

    4. I saw it at my store yesterday. The drip effect looks interesting. The flutter sleeves are cute. I didn't try it on, but it did look big...

      Delete
    5. I tried it in the xs and it was too big.i felt the flutter was overwhelming on me. Might have to tried the xxs or the petite version.

    6. I see all 5 star ratings, I beg to differ. I have tried in a store yesterday, was willing to pay with 30% but opted out not to. I was wearing white underwear, and could see the outline of it! Seeing an outline of a bra while wearing white linen stuff is "a ok", of the undies - a no, no!. The dress has a lining but it is way too thin, IMO. Also, I could see a little bit of bra - but that didn't bother me as much. I would love it if the colors were reversed!

  7. They had the dress in the Park Meadows, CO store last weekend in lots of sizes. The flutter sleeves did not appeal to me. I am planning on going in at lunchtime, when I purchased the Sleeveless Shift in Zigzag, they offered to have their tailor sew up some of the too plunging V. I am going to take them up on their offer and may even have them sew the whole thing, the V did not really make much difference to me. Thanks for the link, Silver_Lining, good to see the dresses on AudreyBella. I was wondering about the shirt dress, it looked really short online and a similar dress at Madewell was a disaster on me. But I liked it in the pictures.

  8. I just added a post on my blog with the Linen Dip-Dye Dress, Short-Sleeve Cotton Shirtdress, Linen Halter Maxi Dress and Chevron Striped Dress. They are all in the promo and some do say "pre-order" online but were in my store.

    1. Oh....thanks so much for the dress reviews with photos to boot ! I love that you post 3 or 4 items at a time......so good of you ! you look very nice in all of them. I ordered the shirt dress in Navy (pre order ??) i think i may have ordered too large now. but i did order tall and I am only 5'5''

      Delete
    2. Great that the white linen halter maxi is lined, but I just noticed in the description that the black is not. Why?? Is that why the model covers her V area with the tote? Lol. Once you are out and about in the sun one can completely see through the dress. You can already see on the model (legs) how see-through it is. Ugh.

      Delete
    3. I meant clutch, not a tote. Although some of us might need a tote to cover the back is it's a see-through :)

    4. Audreybella, I love those green pants you have on in your Thursday June 4 Anthro posts! Wherever did you find them?

    5. IslangGirl - Those are Tory Burch jeans from last year, the Mia Slim Boot. I have the same print in a dress.

    6. Unknown - You're welcome and Thanks! I was tempted to order a Tall in the White after trying it on, just to have a little more length. But this is a fun Summer dress so I'll stick with the shorter length for me. I hope your size works out!

      Delete
    7. Anon - I saw that too, after my post. The black will definitely be see-through. Some might treat it more like a swim cover-up because of that. And because of the halter-style, you'll have to do a half-slip instead.

      Delete
    8. Thanks, Audreybella! I thought it looked like the Tory Burch pattern I coveted last year. They are adorable. And you have the dress too? Nice. Thanks so much for your reviews!

    1. I have been in and out of my local store a few times this week. Nothing.
But, I made my first ever factory purchase, and am delighted. I bought the Factory tiered dot tank in white. I have the 3 tier retail version from a couple of years ago, and have worn it frequently. I was so happy to stumble across this. 100 % cotton . Yay!

  12. Hitting the highway today to return to the factory store. I don't order much from them because I seem to always have to return stuff and that means a trek down the freeway. But while I'm there I'll check out some of the other outlet stores.

    2. Hee! Too funny.....and so true. I don't own any CeCe flats so I can't complain about that but this year I've had enough of the sheer garments, holey and sheer tops and sweaters, the weird sizing....huge waists and too tight over hips and legs or just plain huge and shapeless. I hate that laser cut out stuff, eyelet and excessive embroidery so I didn't like a lot. I mainly bought basic tops and tees in styles they have done a thousand times before, some cheap summer slides, earrings and scarves. Just some cute stuff to cheer up my summer basics from years past.

  14. I walked thru the willow grove pa store today and I wonder if that store is on the closing list? I haven't been in a while, but all the fixtures and tables were labeled with store numbers. None of the staff spoke to me and there were just a handful of people in the store. Sad but I'd guess that store will be gone soon.

    3. The Bellevue J.Crew is okay. If you are a small size (0,2, xs) you'll probably find more as items seem to be more prevalent in those sizes. It has shoes, men's, a decent size sale section, and women's, of course. I've found the sales staff to be somewhat standoff-ish. I actually prefer to go to the Southcenter location as they are friendlier and tend to have more selection of both sizes and items. Just my two cents.

      Delete
    4. The Clara sandals are flat strappy sandals with an ankle strap and they come in poppy, black and blush $98
The polyneasan floral is very graphic in cream and black and there is a shell, dress and shorts(which are in stores already). HTH
