This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
ReplyDeleteI will probably stop to check out the sale section.
The July sneak previews are up here. :)
ReplyDeleteI posted an outfit with newer Factory sale items today on my blog.
Factory clearance section (online only) has an extra 40% with code extra40 right now.
PICS COMING UP ON PINTEREST OF JULY STYLE GUIDE ......
ReplyDeleteI was a little disappointed in the July colors/styles. Blah. I need to wear what I have for summer because I always seem to overbuy warm weather stuff. Still feeling bad for the JCrew staffers who lost their jobs but I am looking forward to the impact of the shake-up for fall. Remember - Mickey has been promising change for the past year now.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I probably won't stop in this weekend.
Just wanted to add that the July Style Guides are in stores and you can probably get one if you ask. My store still has stacks of the June one sitting out, but I asked and they produced one for me from under the counter, which was nice.
DeleteJuly is quite thin, but I think they usually are.
I just got the ebroidered sunburst dress and love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a little sheer:) i go the xs in it.
Pics on my IG @inawonderland5
I stopping in with (surprise) returns. White shorts that are too sheer, the safari popover which looks nothing like the online photo....I mean I really thought they had sent me the wrong shirt.....those Patchwork Pants that just look too Ellie Mae Clambett for me, Cyprus sandals (I wore the white one's today for half a day and I have big blisters from them, so the calf hair ones are going back).......wow.....I'm really striking out with the J. Crew. Maybe that's why I had not bought anything for so long....I forgot that this always seems to happen. Iit's a vicious cycle.
ReplyDeleteAh............the patchwork pants didn't work out, huh? Too bad! I almost tried them myself, guess I'm glad now I didn't bother....
DeleteI saw the short sleeved cotton shirtdress yesterday. As expected it's completely see through and it's not white. It's off white. And short. I'm sure the Crew would happily sell you a big shirt or long cardigan to tie around your waist to cover your "privates".
ReplyDeleteA review of the J. Crew Ikat Wrap Dress HTH!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if anyone has seen the Chevron Pleated Dress in light mauve in a 4 or 6 near them? Do stores still do charge/sends?
ReplyDeleteYes stores still do send sales:)
DeleteThank you Ina!! =)
DeleteHere are my recent necklace purchases from J.Crew factory. Love all of them!
ReplyDeleteHere is a random question???If anyone has a pair of scout chinos, size 10 or 12 in neon rose they would like to sell, I ruined mine yesterday, I would love to buy them. I would prefer NWT if possible. There is a pair on ebay but quite pricey I think.
ReplyDeleteSo far...my take on the July style guide is mixed. There are a few (I'm being generous) I like and some that are questionable.
ReplyDeleteWhile I like the silhouette of the crop top and circle skirt (very 50's). The textile reminds me of Nigeria's native prints. The colors are pretty though...It just doesn't look like a J.Crew print to me. I would love to see this print in person.
This being the last roll-out for spring/summer I remember when Tom Mora was interviewed at NYFW back in September '14, he said the inspiration for the collection is Ibiza. None of the clothes J.Crew produced this spring/summer screamed Ibiza to me. I know its not meant to be taken literally..I didn't get it.
Hello Ludlow on sale! Basically scored Ludlow slim pants in slate grey in cotton. With the 30% off sale they were well below half price and will work well in both spring and fall. I bought them longer than my usual size so I can my tailor cuff them. They will still have no break and I'll flash a little ankle just like they do in the style guide.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful deal! Thanks for the tip.
DeleteAfter reading that the July style guide is going up on Pinterest I took a look to see if there was anything for me. The men’s lightweight sweatshirt in deep blue stripe looks great! Why am I such a sucker for a fleece? Fingers crossed it's a good one and better yet gets a discount.
ReplyDeleteIn a refreshing counterpoint article to all the internet J. crew bashing in the past couple days, Pop Sugar just posted "17 Reasons Why We Still Love J. crew."
ReplyDeleteYes. We do.
This was so fun to read and, yes, very refreshing.
DeleteThanks for sharing!!
Nice idea, terrible execution! I am sooo over their sequin on a sequin on everything. And selling a 3rd party marked up merchandise! Pass for me. And yes, they had to throw few Jennas.
DeleteAnd the damage control began....
Cross topic. Net-A-Porter's sale is currently in progress. Visit this post for some J. Crew jewelry deals, incl the charm necklace for $60. U.S. shipping is free.
ReplyDeleteA review of the J. Crew Shawl-Collar Blazer in Sun-Faded Tropical HTH!
ReplyDeleteVanessa Friedman of the New York Times wrote an article on the meltdown going on at J. Crew:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/12/fashion/somsack-sikhounmuong-of-madewell-becomes-womens-wear-designer-at-j-crew.html?ref=fashion&_r=0
She asks the obvious question: where is Jenna Lyons in all this? And she also has misgivings about the new designer, Somsack Sikhounmuong.
Thank goodness J.Crew menswear seems to be doing well. Although we could always enjoy a return to the classics . . . the 70's classics :-) http://www.boredpanda.com/1970s-mens-fashion-ads/
DeleteGood points, Louise! Even if it's too expensive to discharge Jenna, she should definitely be sidelined. Design is more than putting sequins/glitter/pompons/fringe/tassels/zipper on a badly cut schmatta. Very curious as to the radio silence there - it's almost as if she knows things about the PWTB that should not be disclosed. Curiouser and curiouser.
DeleteMaybe Mickey gave Jenna the ultimatum, we just didn't know about it.
DeleteI can't imagine the pressure falling heavily on Somsack to produce something better than Tom. I can't believe he has three months to do that before showing at NYFW this September! How crazy...
I was the first in the door yesterday to do a return that amounted to $500.00. So my store started out in the negative. I looked around but didn't see anything I thought I could wear. Again.....too short, sheer, boxy. I didn't see hardly any summer BASICS.....like shorts, plain tees. I need some shorts but none were to be found. Oh...except booty shorts. Plenty of those.

DeleteWhy oh why can't they make cute printed shorts with an inseam longer than 3 inches?
DeleteOn my way to JCrew, I stopped by GAP to try on some shorts a woman in her 30s can wear. Bought some great linen shorts for $25 - linen boyfriend, fantastic colors, 9 inch unrolled (6 rolled). The other style - boyfriend khaki were sold out in my size, so just ordered them online - $11.99 with the additional 40%! Not final sale, free ship over w/$50 If the tag was not on, no one could tell whether they are from GAP or JCrew. Btw, GAP was packed, more than 10 persons at the register line, crickets at JCrew.....
DeleteAlso, got a great white cotton-linen skirt, lined, in tall (tried a regular one in the store but wanted a little longer). Only $49.95 full price, now with 40% already very affordable (and will go even cheaper once on sale). It is called "Pull-on skirt". Simple, nice quality, wearable and affordable. Yes, why can't JCrew do that?
DeleteShopping Celle, I totally agree about the shorts. Would love some longer printed options.
DeleteI tell the SA's every time I'm in the store that I wish they would use the fabulous prints in other styles besides the mini skirts and booty shorts. Don't know why I'm wasting my breathe. I stopped in Gap and bought a gorgeous men's shirt. It's a beautiful batik print in indigo and white and feels like vintage bark cloth. I bought a small and it fit great. Guess I need to go back and look at the shorts!
