  1. And back on the topic of looking to love...I love the Tippi sweater. I'm not so into the Tippi cardigan, but the pullover is amazing and it was awesome that they were on sale last week so that I could add a couple to my collection.

I hope that J. Crew keeps this around for a long time and doesn't change a thing!

    1. I'm adding my love for the Tippi Sweater! It's a really great sweater. Cate O, like you, I prefer the pullover version.

    2. I just received the Tippi cardigan in kelly green and crushed grape in the mail yesterday. The colors are saturated and absolutely beautiful. They're much prettier IRL than they look online. Now I wish I would have ordered a couple more when they were on sale...

    3. Also love the Tippi - got two in the mail yesterday as well. Sizing was consistent with the others I have. Colors are fabulous -will be wearing these constantly as soon as the temps drop just a bit.

  3. I'm in LOVE with JCrew shoes more than anything & am gonna bite the bullet & get a pair of Suede Everly's with my 25% cardholder email. Has anyone tried them on to suggest the sizing? I am a 9 in the Mona's, Martina's & Pia's but sometimes when an 8 1/2 is availible they work too (most times in open toed). Any help would be appreciated! Tnx!

  4. Oh...I want to try on those Stovepipe trousers! I also love the Tippi sweater. I've got lots of them and where I live I can wear them almost all year. I also love the silhoutte of the Tippi Cardigan and have bought a few of those. I did "twin sets" with a couple of colors. And I want to again RAVE about my local stores. I've never heard "no, we can't do that" from them. They're always willing to do adjustments, match online prices, look for things, and bend over backwards for me. I really appreciate it and that special service keeps me going back to JC.

    1. I haven't tried this year's Sterling skirt (Maybe it was the other Cate? That's why I go by Cate O on here...to reduce confusion). Last year's version looked dowdy on me.

    2. Me? I returned the sizes 6 & 8 Sterling skirts in Crimson Maple. I re-ordered them in the 8 in both black and heather acorn, but I haven't had a chance to try them on yet. I will let you know what I think of the replacements, once I assess them. I don't want to keep one unless it is love.

  7. Big thank you to the VPS program. Just signed up last week and so far my online VPS (Jessica) has given me a 20% off discount on my first order with her, a price adjustment and free overnight shipping on my next order for my birthday.

  8. Straycat- thanks for reminding me that I should also thank my local B&M stores. I live in Pittsburgh and can shop at 3- all of which are staffed by professional, accomodating, helpful associates who never say" we can't do that" As a result they have developed a very loyal customer base. If anyone knows anthing about Pittsburgh, you know that loyalty- especially to our sports teams- is legendary.

  9. Sending out some love for the Jackie shells - got a couple with the promo price last week. Sizing remains consistent. Length is just perfect on these. I have many from past years and they hold up very well.

  11. Thanks Cate for the answer about the Sterling Skirt. Did you just not like the Crimsom Maple color? I have the golden burgandy no.2 so I probably won't get a Crimsom maple skirt. Let us know how you like the skirt!

    1. I was on the fence about the Golden Burgundy pencil skirt and I didn't buy it because I didn't need another pencil skirt. I had no qualms about the Golden Burgundy color, though, I liked it. It would be interesting for me to see the two colors side by side. I wonder how different they are. I just didn't like the Crimson Maple color, it reminded me of rust (even though it really isn't rust) and I don't like it on me, but I think most people are going to like it.

I'll post back in this thread about the replacement Sterling skirts, I should have time to try them today.

    2. Okay I've tried them on and this is my report: love! The heather acorn is perfect. The black is also perfect, but the pocket details are lost in the blackness. Keep both or return one of them? If I had to choose, I'd keep the heather acorn because it's harder to find a skirt that color. I may keep both though (I got them for a decent price).

This skirt kind of reminds me of a kilt, something about the way it hangs or the shape.
