30% Off Final Sale at J.Crew

A big "thanks!" to Nicole (in this post), who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SHOPNOW. Yey! Not sure when this code expires.

Let me start off by saying how much I appreciate this community! Why? Because I cannot see that offer on both my phone and laptop. The only promotion I see is: "risk free swim: enjoy free shipping & free returns on all women's swim styles". (I should add that this is different from yesterday's message of flat fee shipping.) Not sure why J.Crew is showing the SHOPNOW to some customers and not others...

Will you be checking out the Final Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. It's always nice to see another promo, but it would be even better if they would give us one for the entire website, or at least for the full-price merchandise.

I'm sure they have a ton of sale merchandise to get rid of at this point, especially since the stores have shipped all of their sale stock back to the warehouse. I did notice a good sized update this morning with quite a few popbacks. There were also a lot of new promo-priced items added this week, even some of the new arrivals. I noticed the Collection Icon Trench is on promo today, too. I have the updated lists posted on my blog.

  2. My "devices" show the bathing suit freeship, but they seem to have democratized the pre-ordering of fall collection pieces by providing an on-line form. Or is that too only on Some computers?

I received my rewards the day before, used it all up yesterday.

  5. There are some new arrivals added today, too. I don't see the Jewel-Collar sweater online yet, but I pre-ordered it a couple weeks ago and received it yesterday. Sadly, it is going back. The fit is really off for me, and the colors are not overly flattering for my skintone. It was one of the items on my Fall Shopping List, but has now been crossed off of it.

  6. FFM- I pre-ordered it also and saw it shipped out today. How did it fit. What didn't you like about it? I had high hopes for the Jewel Collar Sweater :(

    1. Hi Sara! I ordered the sweater in my normal size XSmall and it feels a bit too snug in the shoulders and tight on the arms, but is quite roomy through the body. The fit of it on me just looks off, and I don't think it is very flattering to my figure. I don't think sizing up will be an option since the body of the sweater is already roomy and would be even more so in the next size up. I'm sure it will look lovely on some JCAs, but just doesn't look right on me. Let me know what you think when yours arrives.

    2. FFM- Mine came in the main yesterday and it is a looser fit through the body. My problem is I am 30 weeks pregnant right now so I don't know how the body will look when I am back to normal! It is scratchy though, that might be a problem. I love the collar but I do wish it was detatchable. Still thinking on it!

  7. Fyi, I placed an ordered yesterday and today called for a price adjustment I just got off the phone with customer service and they said they could only apply to code to the final sale items not the promo priced things in my order. I explained that the code was applying to everything in my cart on a mock checkout of the exact same items but she didn't budge. Didn't even get the "one time courtesy" scolding speech Very thankful that I am getting a $30 credit on my much longed for kalidescope capris, but will have to reorder begin the rebuy tango for the rest.

    1. I did the same thing but the story I got was not they could not adjust a previous order, then she researched and said since they had not done this type of adjustment before they would as a 'one time courtesy'. Then she launched into, she could not adjust the order, even though it had not shipped. What would happen is that once the order shipped, she would forward the order information to the support team they would go ahead and give me the discount. She seemed shaky on if I would see the original order total amount on my bill and then a credit for the adjustment. I asked her what was my recourse if the adjustment was not made to the original order and she basically said, 'Oh, we do this all the time'. She further explained that the discount would take 5-10 business days to show up on my account. So I decided to place another order for the same items myself online with the discount and when the original order comes in I will just return all the items. Since I ordered a swimsuit I got free shipping and nothing was final sale, so I hope I have covered all the bases. I tell you, J Crew's, pricing, ordering, shipping etc is a nightmare for a company of their size.

I was wondering about the Telegram suede mini-satchel in byzantine blue. Funny how we like so many of the same items I noticed :) We have good taste I guess...
Can anyone comment on the satchel?

    1. I saw the Byzantine satchel in the store and thought it was the perfect size. I am not one to like large bags and this one is not large. It is medium sized.

    3. Here is an ebay listing for the beige Telegram mini-satchel (not mine). It has a lot of pictures of the bag, including one with it on a mannequin.

I got out a tape measure to see what the measurements would look like, and while it is not a big bag, it's not a small one either. It's about 10"x10" and 6" deep.

My favorite Marc Jacobs bag that I use daily is the Lil Ukita. It's 10.5"x9" and 5" deep, but it is slightly more expandable because of the slouchier shape, if that makes sense. I like this size bag a lot because it fits everything I need plus extra room ... any bigger and I start to have trouble finding things.

I went ahead and ordered it. I like medium-sized bags, and I won't likely use it as an everyday bag because of the suede; just for days when I want something special (and it isn't raining). The extra 30% made it worth it to me ... it comes to $125 before tax. The only other similar bag I like is $500, and I actually like this one better, so suede be damned I'm going for it. I hope I don't regret it ;-)

I hope it works out for you! I love the bag and am on the fence still. Please review it when it arrives. Thanks !

  11. Thanks for the update! I hadn't gotten my email yet. Placed an order for a few things I've had my eyes on for a while: Café capri in kaleidoscope dot, Tiki print shorts, Sea Mist Colorblock sequin tank, and Spiced Wine Adrienne dress for an upcoming wedding.

  12. Oh, thank you for passing along this information Alexa!! I had been wanting the deck stripe pencil skirts but even $90 was high for a skirt that I didn't need. But $63 was too hard to pass up!

I also ordered the Sydney patent heels, which I had in black from long ago and are very comfy and TTS. It turns out that the bronzed clay and the neon azalea are NOT final sale (the only two colors that aren't, bizarrely) -- a good deal at $56.

Other nice buys: the colorblock sequin tanks, for $35, not final, and the minnie in flame for $56, also not final.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I grabbed the colorblock sequin tank and the minnie in flame! With these being non-final sales, the price was right.

I also did something potentially stupid and bought a wool crepe skirt that I've never seen let alone tried on, which was final sale for $55 with the promo. Color is "decadent red" which looks coral on my screen but I think it's more of a true red (as I have the origami dress in the same fabric/color). Too late to ask about sizing or for reviews, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see... if it ships, that is. It's now only available in petite sizes.

    2. If it is the wool crepe pencil skirt, I find that it fits TTS. I hope it works out!

  13. Many thanks for this promo code notification. I'm so glad I checked this site before placing an order this morning. As mentioned above, the only promo advertised on the site is the free returns on swimwear. I've been eyeing the red perfect shirt in anchors and horseshoes and was able to snag it for a great price. If anyone else is interested in this shirt, it's worth noting that they changed the main image for it. I was looking for the original image where the shirt was pictured on a model. I actually had to type "anchors" into the search bar to find it. I'll be happy to ad the splash of red to my wardrobe. It really would be a perfect shirt, if I wouldn't have to get it tailored. >_<

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thanks for the promo! I wasn't seeing it on my JCrew website, but I was eyeing the Bette and Lila platforms for $50 and at $35 I had to snag a pair (though I had trouble choosing which color...I could have gone crazy and ordered one of each color, but that would have been a bit overboard)!! I also got a swiss dot dress (marked down to $21 after the promo) and the ella eyelet dress! Yay!

  15. Great time to get the collection trench if anyone has been eyeing it.

  16. I got the Icon trench, I have been eyeing it and I tried it in store and the fact that it isn't fs is a big incentive. Also got the colorblocked sequin tank in sea mist to wear with the Jardin maxi in aqua... Thanks to whoever saw this promo code it still not showing on the website.

    2. I picked up the same things, the Icon trench and the colorblock sequin tank! I was planning to get it on my trip to NY next week but this price was too good to pass up. I really like the shorter length of this season's trench coat. The previous version was too long on me and I felt completely swamped by it.

    3. Ema, Louise, can you tell me how the Icon trench fits? Can't decide between my 2 JC sizes. TIA! ps I also have the sequin tank in my cart...

    4. Shopping Celle, sorry for late reply. I got an XXS in the sequin tank which is the smallest of my tank sizes. I tried it in store in the XS and it was a smidge loose.

Connie, the Icon fits TTS to your coat size. I takea 2 in coats/jackets and tbe 2 that I tried was perfect with some room in the shoulders to layer. HTH!

      Delete
    5. Thanks Ema, I ordered both xs and xxs since not fs. I just hope it is not too low cut. Sometimes I think they make tanks for people measuring 3 feet from shoulder to breast.

    6. Thanks Ema I will go with my usual 0 as I can't afford to pay for shipping back a size! Wish the Toronto store would take back on line returns.

    7. Connie, sorry for the late reply on this. I tried on the Icon trench in the Yorkdale store a few weeks ago, and I took my usual dress size 4. I ordered the size Small in the sequin tank, based on the item measurements I got from CS (33" bust circumference for the Small). I may need to exchange it, based on Ema's experience, as I often take XS in tee-shirt tops. And yes, it is a real drag not to be able to take stuff back to the Toronto store, plus they won't honour online promotions like the current SHOPNOW additional 30% off - I asked yesterday and they refused.

  19. Thank you for sharing/disclosing this code! It is visible on JCrew's Google ads search results. I bit since I was able to get some more shorts that had been sold out in my size.

I knew something was up since some of the factory items I've been watching were back up to regular price for the past two days.

  20. So glad I saw this! The code isn't showing up when I pull up the JC website. I grabbed the superfine Navy slacks which were on promo, so returnable if they don't work out. Although I'm fairly certain they'll be good. Also, took a chance on the Allura dress in Navy for $55 - it's a classic. I'm pretty confident of my JC dress size in that shape, so hoping it's good! I've way cut back on what I'll purchase FS b/c I've been burned too many times. I saw the Sterling skirt (which got raves last winter) in my size but passed b/c I'm just not sure how it'd look on me. I perused reviews on JCA from last winter and ultimately decided it probably wouldn't be good on my body type. I love this blog!! So helpful!! Lastly I threw in the Port of Call sweatshirt as a ride-along to get free shipping. Won't be a problem to return to b&m if it's not good.

  21. YAY! Thanks, JCAs. I noticed the Altuzarra dress in gingham is back and still on promo, if anyone is hunting for ride-alongs.

  22. Thank you to everyone who posted this promo! I check Jca every morning because I know it will get the latest scoop. Of course I placed an order for promo items last night like the snowcat boy shirt, my rewards card was burning a hole in my pocket. I called CS first thing this morning to ask very nicely I'd they could adjust my promo items with the 30%. In typical fashion I was flatly denied. So I remained calm and try to use my Jedi mind tricks to explain that all the items are still in stock, and I can just Rebuy and return and get free shipping so they are losing money by paying to ship my items twice plus their inventory position is affected with all the people who do this on a regular basis - the return Rebuy game since you have 60 days to return online items and by then the item could be marked significantly down. All of that and I still got nowhere. So I just placed my order again. Love you jcrew but some days you just make me question my loyalties.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes, I don't understand their policy behind that, especially when the same sizes are still instock online. I understand that they don't want to state that publicly and open themselves up to a ton price adjustments, but when I can rebuy the same exact items, in the same sizes and colors, it's costing the company more money than just simply issuing the adjustment. And I don't even have any Jedi mind tricks to fall back on :)

  23. I too have been intrigued by the telegram suede satchel - if you Google image it, you can see some pictures of the bag as it's in shots with a J. Crew model in the polka dot chambray shirt; another two in striped shirts, one with jeans and one with yellow trousers, and the standard of the bag hung up on a mannequin. What's giving me pause is the shots with the two striped-shirt models - it looks too small for my frame/purposes. :(

Got a t-shirt and a pair of shorts for DH, the colorblock sequin tank in sea mist and the factory micro-pleated collar cami in navy (really wanted the navy blythe but it disappeared from my cart because I took way too long debating my purchases!) Also grabbed FP the cashmere bateau stripe sweater which I am loving and it disappeared from the site earlier this week so now I'm paranoid about it selling out. Had a rewards card to spend too so that lessened some of the blow...really do not need any more summer stuff so I should be done done done!

  29. Snapped up the long Arabelle dress in silk taffeta... I debated waiting until midnight as that's when our tax free weekend starts, but I'm glad I bit on that because I'm pretty sure it was the sole popback in caspain blue in a 4. I've been waiting on that size and color combo for a while, and $70 is a great deal for a black tie event I've got this winter. Woo! Would love a full price promo though... I could do some damage with that.

  45. I'm interested in the Jackie pullover that's on promo/sale. Can anyone comment on its fit and quality? Does the cotton hold up well? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I myself love the Jackie pullover and have a few of them from this year. I typically wear a SIZE S in Tippis (which can even be too big sometimes) and have both S and M in the Jackie. I prefer the M. They are heavier weight with a bit of stretch. I really love them and they wash and wear very well!

      Delete
    2. Hey Greta! I love the Jackie pullover and have five of them. The material is very comfortable and it is a stretch material. It fits TTS and I would say it is a slim fit as it hugs the body. The material does not feel like the same material on a Jackie cardigan (at least not the cardigans from 2011). It feels stretchier and more "solid" for lack of a better description. I have worn and washed mine a couple of times in gentle cycle, no dryer (do not own a dryer in Oslo). It came out good as new!

      Delete
    3. LOVE them, but they run small. Seriously, I looooove them. I want every color! The material is weird, it is sort of spongy, but I like it. It is extremely stretchy and bounces back easily if you pull on it. Definitely get your larger J.Crew size, though. I tried a small, which I wear in basically everything at J.Crew, and it was obscenely tight. Now I go with medium.

      Delete
    4. Thank you guys for being so helpful! All the positive comments are very reassuring. I'll probably try one now!

    5. I really don't like the 'stretch'-ness of it - if you read the description (which I didn't) the sweater has lycra and spandex in it. In fact, if you like, I have a cream peach jackie that I got final sale - would be happy to sell it for 20 incl shipping.

      Delete
    6. Ahhhhhhh I think I'm glad I skipped buying this, then. I find Jackies to fit me oddly anyway, and definitely on he small side, and this pullover seemed so much like the Tippi that I couldn't justify buying it. It's suuuuuper cute though!

    9. I didn't like the Jackie pullover at all. Returned it and my ps --oops-- vps agreed the fabric felt odd. I was expecting a Jackie feel and it didn't feel like that at all. Color choice was bad on me anyway. I prefer the Tippi retail. Or the Factory version called the Thandie, which I ordered in March & April. I don't see that online. I *do* see the merino classic crewneck pullover, which I've ordered in muslin. Don't have it yet. Looks exactly like the Tippi/Thandie. I expect it to be a little thin, but it will be merino wool. SHOPNOW should work as it's on sale on the site.

I nabbed some crewcuts for my little ones with this promo. I found a couple items I would have liked but I am not going to pay shipping. Thanks for those that shared, it was nice to shop without feeling everything was going to be grabbed from my cart!

  49. I'm glad JC is offering the 30%, even if they are being a little sneaky about it...going to grab some stuff for the kids...

I would suggest that any JCA thinking of getting the Telegram Suede Satchel to think about pre-treating it before wear . Also, the color, while beautifully saturated and delicious looking may bleed a bit, so don't wear your light-colored tops or bottoms unless you know that the suede isn't color transferring... :)

  50. I'm interested in the Memo Dress in Super 120s. I tried looking for a review, but couldn't find one. Does anyone have any advice on fit, etc? TIA

    1. amh783, I have the Memo Dress in Super 120s, in the tall size. My regular dress size fit well. The only issue I have is that the arms are a little tight. I have gained weight but not THAT much, and the dress fits fine elsewhere. Also, the sleeves are kind of unflattering, but I do have somewhat broad shoulders. It is a really nice dress though, and I love that it has sleeves, even if they don't look that wonderful on me. So, if you have thin arms/don't have broad shoulders, it will probably be a good choice!

      Delete
    2. Thanks JCrewJD! How tall are you?

      Delete
    3. I am about 5'9"ish, maybe a smidge taller. The tall size hits at the perfect spot, just at the top of my knee.

      Delete
    4. My favorite dress ever, I wear not to work but out to dinners etc. I always get compliments! Fits TTS if not a little small. I am 5'8" and bought a reg size not tall and it hits right above my knee cap. Highly highly recommend! J.CrewJD is right, the sleeves fit tight but I find them very flattering on me even though I have kinda 'sporty' arms :)

    1. yes, they are usually very good and quick in locating the items which are sold out online. They would need to get a payment when they start the search though to make sure you really want the item. Highly recommend you be set up with a personal shopper to get the items sold out online.

  53. Could someone kindly comment on the fit of the swiss-dot dress? Should I get my usual size in dresses? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I took my usual j.crew dress size. It was a bit large along the top of the dress, but would have been too tight in the waist if I sized down. Might be because it's a softer cotton material than most my strapless dresses. It's a great price right now, and I've gotten compliments each time I wore it.

      Delete
    2. I agree it is a bit large on top. It also doesn't have the sticky stuff (technical term!) along the top which makes that a bit more of an issue.

  54. Heads up, lots of my items did not show as final sale, such as the ink dip popover and all the swim items I ordered. These were not promos either. Weird but awesome! Thanks, JCA, as I would not have known about the 30% off otherwise and had six things waiting in my cart!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Emily - I haven't tried any Altuzarra, but my ps told me it runs small. The measurements don't say that to me, though. I got them awhile back:

      * Size 6 - chest = 37.5", waist = 34.75, sweep = 38.75"
      * Size 8 - chest = 38.5", waist = 35.75, sweep = 39.75"

  57. Can anyone comment on the collection icon trench compared to the factory, particularly in terms of fit? I got a great price on the factory trench, but I'd be willing to spring for the little bit extra the collection one is currently if it's worth it. I took a 4 in the factory trench, but I often need a 6 in jackets/coats for my shoulders. The factory trench is a teeny bit snug in the shoulders in a 4 but a much better fit everywhere else. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Also, the flap in the back (is that the storm flap?) sticks out a little on the coat I have. Not sure that's supposed to happen? Thanks! My first trench, so sorry for my cluelessness! :)

  58. Does anyone have the double-breasted gold button blazer (#21114) that comes in burgundy? I love the color, but it's jersey cotton and online only. I'd love to know what the quality is like before I order it. Thanks!

    1. I have the jacket in cerise from the spring collection - I assume it's exactly the same jacket except they have reissued it in burgundy for fall. The quality is pretty good - it's a very thick heavyweight cotton blend with a bit of poly, unlined. Sizing is generous, I usually wear size Small in JC sweaters, but took an XS in this jacket. HTH!

      Delete
    2. Thanks! I ordered it - couldn't resist that burgundy color. I have the schoolboy blazers in 2's and 0's but decided to order an XS in this since I have broad shoulders. Hope it fits! Worst case, it was on promo so it can be returned as it wasn't final sale.

  59. If anyone is still looking for the white bubble necklace, the Annapolis MD store had one as of last night. I don't know the price- it's probably not on sale. It was on one of the mannequins in the front window. Their # is 410-573-4879. HTH!

  60. Mini- I haven't tried the boyfriend cashmere but I have a few Isabeles and I would compare the chunky cashmere to that sweaters sizing. I ordered L and XL. After I tried on the L I didnt even try the XL. The L was slouchy and that may be a look you are going for. Today I reordered M- will fit well and still might have a tiny bit of slouch.

  61. I want to thank everyone for sharing the code as well. It doesn't show up when I log into J Crew, and I never received an email.

I wasn't going to buy anything. . . but that Optic Boatneck was calling and so was the sequined tank (both colors now appear to be on promo. I think this morning it was just the green/navy). I ordered both and a couple of long sleeve Ts for fall and swim for free shipping, which I will send back.

I really like the new cashmere boatneck (I think). I'm going to try to be judicious about buying clothes this fall. This past year I was really reinventing my wardrobe due to weight loss/growing up/career change. And now I need to slow down. But the sales make it hard.

Of course, if there is another unadvertised jewelry sale, I'll be in trouble...

  62. Can someone tell me how preorders work? An item i wanted was pre-order, and on sale, with the 30%. She said she can't guarantee the price...

    ReplyDelete

    1. Shaina - In the past I've heard of pre-orders w/sale prices being canceled. Then the item would be available online. That was long ago. The thing about pre-orders is you don't get any confirmation of the order or commitment to price, even if it's *not* on sale. Hope your order ships just fine w/the price you want.

      Delete
    2. Shaina, a bit of good news. I ordered an item that was on sale, but it was on backstock. I know I'm not saying this right (#exhausted), but hopefully you'll get it. Anyway, it just shipped today with the sale price. Order wasn't canx. Good luck to you :)

  70. I stopped in my B&M today to try on the Boy Shirt in Snowcat. Glad I did. It's a less fitted cut than the Perfect shirt and I had to size up to get it to fit my arms/shoulders and the body of the shirt was huge. I have this problem alot. So I didn't get it, but I tried on the cutest pants called the Garment Dyed Camp pant. I got the army green color. I sized up one so they are a little slouchy and I can tuck in sweaters. Also saw the color block Tippi Cardigans....really cute. I'm eyeing the hot pink/golden burgandy, which is a perfect match to the golden burgandy no. 2 skirt. Also my SA shared with me some pictures of upcoming jools....I'm in trouble. There is a two tone bright blue bubble and I'm especially dying to see a long blue/red multi bead necklace with a jeweled bird or a phoenix on it. The pic wasn't too good, but it looks fantastic. It's weird because I saw on ebay a knockoff China seller who had a phoenix jeweled bracelet and they said it was J. Crew. I'm wondering if they are selling knockoffs before J. Crew even launches the items? I also tried on the toothpick and matchstick. Not for me. The classic problem I have....too small of a waist and larger thighs. I sized up for the legs and then the waist was way too big. Oh well....I stopped into Macy's and got a pair of flame colored Ralph Lauren skinny jeans on clearance from $90.00 for $25.30. YAH!!! And one more thing. I stopped in Nordstrom Rack looking for a particular shoe and I found a shoe exactly like the Janey Flat. They're Vince Camuto. Black patent with a little higher heel than the Janey, but not much, and have a thick gold band around on the heel. Love them! Down from $210.00 to $99.97. Yah!!! That's all for now!

  75. I've been stalking the Collection Hutton Linen Pant for a few days hoping for another promo so I bought it at $34.99 after promo, I read positive reviews and thought it was a great deal. I also grabbed a linen cable sweater in navy for $17. It's tempting to buy a bunch of things with the 30% off but I stuck with things that are classics and I feel like I'll actually wear.

I was a little annoyed because I added a boys pair of shorts to qualify for the free shipping and to give to my little nephew but even though it said free shipping as soon as I added two items of women's clothing to the order it negated it and added $8.95 for shipping back on. I ordered a swim item to get the free shipping which I may or may not return.

    1. lulubelleblog, I bought the Minnie pants in that color during the 40% sale in-store because they are crazy comfortable and I felt like they were worth it for the rock-bottom price. I honestly was a little on the fence regarding the color. I am shocked by how much I've worn them. They seem to work with much more of my closet than I had imagined when I bought them. They have probably been my best deal of the summer on a price-per-wear basis (and I've only had them a few weeks)! They really aren't neon at all and they are a surprise "neutral" for me. If you aren't afraid of color, I heartily recommend them!

    1. Fits TTS but a lot shorter than it appears online. Might be ok if you have a short torso. I loved it in the yellow and would have bought it if it hadn't looked like a child's dress on me! Otherwise really cute. For reference, I'm almost 5'8" and not especially long-waisted or anything. HTH

      Delete
    2. I have it in both colors and I love it, but I will echo bindi's short torso remark. I am 5'5" with a somewhat short torso, not especially short but I would say shorter than average based on my experience with dresses. This dress fits me perfectly ... hits exactly at my waist, but if it were any higher I think it would be too short in the waist.

The hem of the dress falls at about an inch above my knees; another situation where it is perfect for me, but any shorter and it would be too short.

      I hope that helps!
