"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

  1. I really enjoy living vicariously through all of you and reading about the pencil skirt/bubble necklace/martina wedge love on here, but if I could write a love letter to J. Crew about my all time favorite item they offer it would be about their chinos (Heritage and Everyday). Boring, I know, but I have yet to find another retailer who does women's chinos so well. I LOVE that I can wash and dry them (I line dry almost everything but not these) and they get better and better with each wash. How many clothing items can you say that about these days?? I LOVE the color selection and the fact that I can wear them almost year round where I live. They look so put together with Converse or ballet flats, pearls, cashmere and a cute denim jacket (my uniform as a SAHM to 2 kids). Their chinos are a great alternative to jeans, and, although they are perfectly practical, they somehow manage to avoid the frump factor. Preppy at it's finest!

  2. I have a J. Crew "love" that I didn't realize before this week-- their customer service on the phone! This week I have had a number of really frustrating calls to LOFT after they incorrectly charged my credit card (without the friends & family discount). First I called LOFT customer service and was on hold for 10 minutes, then I reported my problem and the person said that I would get an email response in 1-2 days. After 4 days I heard nothing from LOFT, so I called back (again on hold 10 minutes before speaking to someone), and the new person said I should wait another day and then call back. What, call back so I can be on hold for another 10 minutes?
    I guess I took it for granted before, but J. Crew has great customer service- whenever you call, someone is there to take your order or answer your question, and everyone is always very pleasant, and they get back to you when they say they will! (Plus the J. Crew clothes generally are cuter and fit better than the LOFT clothes!) Totally makes me want to buy just from J. Crew and forget this LOFT business!
