J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including JulieStyles (in this post), as well as Life as a Cat (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The August catalog still not available to view, but the July catalog (click here to view) is. J.Crew really needs to get this up online! The catalog is already out- both at stores and in mailboxes. So why not online?

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Is the Jules dress in wool a new arrival? I have wanted to try this dress but the fabrics offered so far were not interesting enough. The wool version looks nice but I wonder if it is as short as the others because that is probably not work appropriate then. Anyone know?

    1. I tried it. The wool was very nice and the color was fantastic, but it was too short on me. I am 5'4" and it wasn't obscenely short if I stood still. I tried it on with the Janey shoes in the nude color. It looked really nice altogether but I don't know where I would wear something so short. I guess I could put leggings under it, but it would probably spoil the effect.

  2. I was excited to see the Peter Pan collar knit shirt online. I saw it in person and it is lovely in the navy and black- not too childish, and a zipped back gives it a more sophisticated edge.

    1. Did it come in other colors beside the navy and the grey?

    2. I loved that one as well. And the sparkle bow top! No catalog yet for me in the pacific northwest. I usually have it before the start of the month.

  3. i still haven't received a catalog in the mail... and we often get two! :(

the cashmere bateau stripe reminds me of a sweater from 2007/08, which was not cashmere so it cost considerably less.

I tried the Jules dress in the turquoise color in Charlotte last week and thought it was borderline too short on 5'4" me. (I'm short-waisted so my legs are those of someone who is about 5'6") Maybe with tights for symphony or going out to dinner, but I had my doubts about it for work. Otherwise, it's a great color and a different silhouette from anything else I've got. I wanted to make it work so badly, but decided only on sale.

    1. Thanks for the info Mary G. AudreyBella has some IRL photos of the dress ( and two other Jules dresses) today on her blog HERE. The pocket seam appears quite visible in the photos, that's a dealbreaker for me. Last thing I want is a line across my thick waist.

  7. I actually like quite a lot of the Fall things.
But my first thought looking through this New Arrivals page was

"OMG, for $500 you can be a flowy snake"....:)

  8. Also a fan of the Peter Pan Collar tee. I'll have to see it in store though to see if it lives up to the pictures :)

  9. I love the Jules dress in wool but I know it will be WAY too SHORT like all the other Jules dresses. Darn you J Crew, why do you hate tall girls so much! Jenna you are very tall, please give us some longer length dresses!

  10. @ Sinead: I bought the Merino Pleated Skirt last year, and it looked almost identical to the new Sweater Skirt. They might have fixed this problem on the new version, but last year I, and quite a few others, experienced the waistband separating from the body of the skirt on the first or second wear. J.Crew issued a refund right away when I complained, but I wanted to give you a heads-up just in case you decided to buy it.

  12. Drooling over the velvet schoolboy. What does "slightly shrunken fit" mean? Should I order a Tall? Size up?

  13. For those wanting the "snowcat" dress there is one on ebay size 4, I think this is it anyway and it ends in 4 hours and is just 48.88 right now :)
