30% Off Final Sale at J.Crew {still on!}

J.Crew announced (via their homepage online) their latest promotion online for an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SHOPNOW. This offer expires Tuesday, August 7, 2012. The fine print includes:

*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer valid in US and Canada only. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Tuesday, August 7, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code SHOPNOW. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change
Thanks to Nicole (in this post), JCAs have known about this code since last Thursday (refer to the "30% Off Final Sale at J.Crew" post). I am curious as to why J.Crew did not announce this promotion on their site earlier. In any case, I am happy to see that it is still up and running!

Will you be checking out the Final Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

    1. Me too! I kept on going back to peek at it all weekend. The leather seems prone to smudges and faint scratches from what I've seen in stores, but at least it's not final sale. Got the dark pewter; I would've gone for the Edie grand had they had it in the gray color.

    2. i was debating over that pewter gray and the casablanca blue.. the blue won, but i would have gone for the edie grand too.

    3. On the fence between blue and gray, too, but fell on the other side. :)

I spoke to a store associate and she said that the Edie grand will be available in "burnished rose" in late September/October. The Blythe blouse comes in this color. I say retire the colorblock grand and make three bags available in pewter AND mint AND persimmon.

  2. Odd they decided to make it available on their page today. I did some reviews of final sale shoes and dresses on my blog the other day.

  3. I did not see any sale in the J Crew I peeked in at on Saturday-it never hurts to try! OT, I did shop the sale rack at C Wonder- the new store owned by Tory Burch's ex, Chris. I reviewed it here.

They had a full section of J Crew-like merchandise. I am hoping that my stores will start carrying sale again soon.

  4. Anyone know anything about the Lexington Penny Loafers? TTS? Is the cognac color that light, glaring and cheap-looking in person? Any input is appreciated, although I know they're exclusive online. TIA. =)

  5. I went to the Jcrew Outlet last week and got a postcard says:

Our Newest Fall Collection Arrives Next Week and We have Something special for you.

    Enjoy: 10% off $100+, 20% off $150+, 25% off $200+ So won't you come back soon?

    Offer valid 8/9-26

I got a pencil skirt and two pairs of flats. I love the flats but then realized that they aren't real leather. They are about 60 bucks a piece which is much more than what I paid for from the retail store during the 40% off sale. I am still debating if I should bring them back :(

  6. Maybe they wanted people like us to have first go at the promo because you can be sure someone here would sniff it out. Never know!

  7. I ordered a few tops, including the snowcat boyshirt. I had bought it in-store this weekend at full-price during a personal shopper appointment, so I guess that one will have to go back! With the extra 30% off it's about half-off full-price.
Does anyone know if the personal shoppers get reports on returns resulting from their appointments?

    1. I've wondered this same thing re: returns. I returned 2 items from my last appointment and haven't heard from my PS since (surprising considering the pre-fall roll out has since been released). Anyone know the answer? :)

    2. When you return something from a store, it goes as a negative $$ amount for the associate (not just PS). They get daily, weekly and monthly reports, but it does not show which customer did the return.

  8. Nothing for me, I did enough damage with 2 small orders last week. I'm always oddly happy when there's nothing I MUSTHAVE and I don't feel the need to SHOPNOW. :P

  9. I almost took advantage of the promo last week when the Edie Calf hair Attaché bag showed up online (and wasn't final sale), but it was snatched from my cart as I was checking out. Congratulations to whoever did get it, and if you change your mind and don't want it, please email me! :)

Also, I have updated the Promo-Priced items lists, and you can access them on the sidebar of my blog. :)

  11. So grateful that got the 30% promo code here last Thurs. Managed to snatch the pencil skirt in deck stripe(believe they are sold out online on Sat already) and a couple of chino shorts.

  12. Just to vent -- the factory toothpick jeans were 44.50 or something like that, and now has been raised to 69.50 during the promo. i HATE jcrew's pricing games!!!!!! I refuse to buy them now just on principle.

  13. I snagged a pair of retail ones during extra 30 last week, but if they don't fit, I'm going to check out the cheapie ones at Target and Old Navy and pray they don't bleed in the wash...

  14. No online shopping since the cashmere sweatshirt was sold out in my size, but the store honored the website sale price as well as the SHOPNOW code. Yay!

  15. Hi! love this blog. i hope we get a FP promo code soon since it's been since last Oct when they did that - dying to get the schoolboy blazer, but not paying FP.

  16. I've been hoping for a pop back in the schoolboy linen blazer in green. I wonder if it came in blue...but it's been hard to buy because my size has been sold out and the in-store price was a lot less.... But I really hope my size pops back up before the 30% ends.

  18. I got my purchase from last week. I love the Perfect Tees--but I knew I would. And the price was really right.

I also ordered the Optic Boatneck and the Sequined Coloredblocked tee. I will keep the first, and send back the latter.

The Optic Tee fits odd--tight shoulders and a boxy waist. Despite this, it's cute and with the promo and extra percent off, comes to $25, which is okay for me. I like the colors and can see this with some jeans and a jacket, etc. It will also be a nice background for a contrasting necklace in red/pink/yellow. But I would not pay more money. The material is oddly stiff.

The sequined tank was also a strange fit--boxy and rather low cut. And since I don't have the boobs to push out the tank to make it fit, I'm sending it back.

Both pieces were XS. I just didn't love the sequined tank enough to keep it, though I had high hopes.

Honestly, I'm getting discouraged with J Crew. I wonder if it's just me--if my body just doesn't match the fit model. I feel like so few things just fit really well.

  19. If you are interested in IRL pictures of the Saint James for J.Crew Galathée tee click and the Soludos Dali and Classic Espadrilles here.

The Saint James tees are definitely boxy but the colors are so pretty! Love them with white and denim summer shorts and skinny jeans.

I recommend sizing up on the Soludos or trying them in store. I am usually a 7.5 and I got a 38. They were tight but I'm working on stretching them out.
