J.Crew Email: Cardmember sneak peek (new arrivals are here). In stores and online.

"Thanks!" to Lilac Cupcake (check out her lovely blog "Lilac Cupcake") & Marietta, who shared with us the latest email from J.Crew to its card members.

As mentioned in yesterday's post, "J.Crew Updates Website With New Arrivals Today!", new arrivals are available for purchase online. Lilac Cupcake noticed that the email above indicates that new arrivals are also available for purchase at B&M (brick & mortar) stores. {How exciting! Especially since I was under the impression that the new items would appear next week.} :)

Are you planning to visit a B&M store this weekend to check out the latest new arrivals? If so, please share what new items you come across! :)

  1. I am totally shopped out. I bought the lyla peep toes in sweet papaya which were reduced even further this am. Also bought the elizabeth halter which popped back. . I sunk even more into the "crewlade" and bought the duchess bracelet and libretto necklace in blush and my PS is holding the imperial tee for me at my local B&M. Whew!!!!!

  2. My ps called me yesterday to let me know that new arrivals were due in Monday and that they would be on the floor by Tuesday. He did say that the store that gets them early had sold out of several styles (sorry, can't remember which store he mentioned). I did see a couple of the new items last week.

  3. I have a question--how often does J.Crew come out with new colors for some of their items? For example, I was looking at the Lady Day coats, and it seems in the past, J.Crew has one set of colors come out in August/September, and then another set of colors for November/December. Is that right?

My J.Crew is having an event July 29th from 7-9 to show the new Fall items, and they are also raffling off a $50 giftcard.

  5. Math teacher, my PS said almost the same thing. She said their new stock would be on the floor by Wednesday. My store is very small though so we don't get much variety. I'll have to order most of what I want.

Patina, have you tried on Lylas? I ordered a suede pair which arrived yesterday and I can't get my feet into them! The toe area is really tiny. The length is perfect so I hate to size up. I am sad I have to return them.

  6. I think the "already sold out of several styles" is pre-scripted. Just marketing hype--think critically about it!

  7. Desert Flower....try qvc's shoe stretcher(go online and type in shoe stretcherr in their search engine) It helped with a lot of my shoes.

  8. Cass,
I agree. Lots of hype and talk to get people to feel like they have to buy full price. Also, probably only one of each size will be put out on the floor which is to leave the impression that there is only one left. SA will even say it is the last one when there are more in the back.....yes, let's think critically!

  9. No new arrivals at my J.Crew until Monday...that's why I'm not going this weekend.

  10. I have some questions about the new arrivals that I am hoping I might get help with-if anyone sees these items in store and/or has an opinion, I'd be grateful. TIA.

In terms of the ribbon-front top-I fear there is potential for a big mess with the raw chiffon edges, esp. since the ribbons are not wide(ie, big threads dangling, total disintegration). Any thoughts?

I'm thinking the Maya is either brillance or a disaster. I've noticed how it is always pictured with the bottom buttons undone, which makes me a bit suspicious. I'm wondering how it looks when fully buttoned?

    Happy weekend, everyone!

I was wondering the same potential issue about the Maya cardigan as well. Also, how do you put it on? Do you unbutton everything and try to get the twist just right? Or do you pull it over your head like a crew neck? Either way, it would be a big hassle to wear it. Plus, doing latter would just stretch out the material since it is a fine merino wool. Not sure about the style or the idea behind it. Looks great in the picture, though.

  12. I'm not going to be able to get to a B&M for maybe a week! I just hope everything isn't picked over by then! (maybe I'll just have to order online...) :O)

  13. Patina, I'm happy to hear you got the Elizabeth!

  14. I really wanted to hold out for a sale or percent off but after losing out on the victoria dot cami while waiting for a sale and it never popped back in my size...i took the plunge and ordered the frances cami FP. There is a certain frenzy generated in blogshere over the new arrivals. I don't think Jcrew needs help pushing their merchandise.on me. I'm a sucker for their clothing (smile)

  15. Patina: Did your PS say if there were more color options in that tee? I'm just curious if there are going to be any 'in-store only' colors available!?! TIA! :)

  16. I'm very excited about a bunch of the fall items, but I'm not ready to buy them yet! It's too warm out. Hopefully there will be some items I like left over come sale time. For now I'm stocking up on summer gear.

  17. Wow-it's been a long time! 6 months--no new J Crew and I missed everyone here! Although, I have to admit I gained back a tremendous amount of time:) But I had to of course check out the new Fall line!
Lots of pretty new things IMO:)

Anyone know the deal on the print version of the ruffled Frances top that was pictured in Glamour and I think in the preview pics under a blazer??

Aren't corduroy ankle length pretty limited?

    ReplyDelete
  18. MMM...My PS didn't give any color options so I assume it's just this one color. But don't go by me or my local Jcrew because they are pretty limited. I order 80 percent of my things online.

  19. I think I'll wait until next week. Thanks for the info everyone on when the B&Ms will be stocked with fall!

  20. LoveRshop4bags...thanks. I am looking forward to all the items I purchased. The UPS man will be busy next week.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Patina: Thanks for the info about the tee shirt! :) My UPS man will probably be at my house everyday next week too! Yikes! (I'm gonna be a bit embarrased!) :-/ I will also be busy hidding all of the boxes from my husband!!

  22. Hmm, I didnt see this post so this comment is also under yesterday's post about new arrivals:
I went to a B&M during my lunch and saw some new items:
    Grand Corsage Top
    Tissue Beaded Necklace Tee
    Sherpa Long Hoodie
    Sally Pearlized Ballet Flat
    Cheetah Calf Hair Belt
    Matchstick Jeans
    Cambridge Cord Sweaters
    Pointelle twilight-stripe V-neck cardigan
A sweater like the Cambridge cable pocket cardigan but not in a cable.
I saw a few other items that were not online or in the catalog too.

  23. In Style magazine (August issue) features JCrew again. In an interview, K.Heigel says JCrew "works for her, she dresses right out of the catalog" (p 174)

I'd scan it for the blog, but my scanner is not working :(

I might be wrong, but I see a grey Frances blouse with long sleeves that's not available on JCrew website!!!

  24. bug pin: I was thinking the same thing about the corduroy ankle pants. I guess I might get them strictly for ease of tucking into boots... but cropped fall/winter pants have always seemed kind of silly to me.

I might go this weekend if the new arrivals are out. Otherwise, no.

  26. I just called King of Prussia in PA and they said Tuesday is when they will be out.

If a store were going to do it early, it would be KOP. I wonder if the email is talking about the new items that are already out on the floor, like the grand corsage top and the pointelle cardi?

    Blah. Oh well.

  27. I was at the mall today so I stopped by J.Crew to get the August catalog. Didn't see anything fall-ish, and a peek in the sale section revealed mounds and mounds of chiffon-ed items. Store was virtually devoid of life.

  28. just got back from the collection store and there are NO new fall arrivals. Boo. Usually they are one of the first stores to get them too! I did pick up one of those space dyed v-neck t shirts for $15.00 and one of the new Essie nail polish colors.

For those NY'ers the new Crewcuts store opens August 11 at 85th(?) and Madison. Yey!

  29. Hello, ladies,

Does anyone know whether or not the embossed-cotton piazza dress (item 16615) is running true to size or not? I'd love to snag it at 50+% off, but JC's sizing was really crazy this season so I don't know if I should size up or down, or by how much, if at all. TIA!!!!!!!

  30. PS in my Collection store confirmed Tuesday for new merch on floor, and had an interesting insight. She said the sales staff had expected the new rollout to be mostly low-risk tweaks to proven favorites ... Victoria, Ecole, Cambridge Cables, etc. And they are! Apparently Jenna and Mickey are playing it safe in the bad economy.

Oh and the Dream yarn is supposedly improved in this version to reduce pilling because of so many complaints. Love many new items, but I'm still staying away from the Dream stuff!

  31. Patina, you are a God send. I'll try the stretcher on the Lylas! The shoes are so pretty, I hate to return them.

  32. lots of cute stuff this time, which is a nice change... not sure if i can pull the trigger or not. budget is tight these days!

  33. For those asking about the frances cami, there will be a shirt available and different colors and patterns are being rolled out later.

  34. Can someone advise me on the fit of the Silk flower tank (item 15035). I found the Silk Georgette top too roomy. TIA!

  35. Wondering if anyone has tried to order anything today? Won't process my order.. I've tried two cards! Keeps telling me there's an error in my payment method or something like that. (There isn't! It's the same info that's saved in their system - always worked before. I even tried a new card and still no love!)

Another Web site issue maybe? I would call them and find out but I'm a bit too peeved to turn over the $$ right now! Especially after my trip to the 45th/Madison Ave store today. Anyone notice how cold their staff is?

    ReplyDelete
  36. mocol -
I had the same issue. It told me I had a credit card problem (same as you, I know I don't) - so I entered another card and it accepted it. Not sure... I almost just gave up on the order too... but there were two pop-backs I had to have :)
Try to start over - refresh the page and start again. Maybe that will help?
    Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Mack - glad you were able to get your popbacks!

Unfortunatly, still no luck on my edn. Tried three cards now on two different computers and in IE and Firefox. I should probably give in and give them a call :).

Keep me posted if anyone else continues to experience issues!

  38. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to let those in CT know that I stopped by the J.Crew at The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk (South Windsor,CT) and they did *not* have any new arrivals. They did offer 20% off final sale items- however there were not that many sale items left. (Not really worth the visit until next week). Hope this helps! :)

  39. Hi ladies,
FYI, I went to the Deer Park, IL Jcrew and the Orland Park, IL store this weekend - neither had the new arrivals yet, but also confirmed they'd be on the floor this Tuesday.
I ordered the Wool Ruffle- Front Coat in Camel and was told that this will be on online only item. Not sure if that's true or not, but 2 SA's told me that. I didn't want to risk it selling out, so I ordered. I'll be posting IRL pics when it comes on my blog.
I was also told that the Merino Ethereal Ruffle Cardigan would be online only. HTH!

  40. I visited J.Crew in Orlando this morning and was able to see/try on many of the new arrivals. There is a silver/grey patterned Frances cami in the store that isn't available online...looks like it may be the one in the Glamour magazine layout shown with the Whirling Ruffles cardigan. The color code on the tag is SGR. I take a size 2 in that one, but a size 0 in the solid Frances camis. I also tried on the Ribbon-front top in Champagne (no Shadow color in the store) and take a size 2 in that one. It's much prettier IRL than online, IMO.

The Paisley tee is now being offered in Green, but I picked up a tee that isn't available online...it's heathered grey with a dark grey/black sort of Henna/Tribal looking pattern on the front. The ombre' silk scarves are very pretty and there is a red toned one that works really well with the tortoise belt. They also had the striped long sleeve crewneck that was also shown in the Glamour layout. It comes in Navy, Ivory (which is ivory and light pewter), and then more of a champagne/camel color, too. My store actually had shoes today...not just flip-flops, either. They had the new flats out on display, but I didn't see any heels...still it was nice to at least see some of the shoes IRL. :) I tried on the Cotton Corsage cardigan and think it's prettier IRL than it appears on the website. The sale section was still an extra 20% off with the usual suspects on the racks. :)

  41. Forgot to add that I tried on the Eden Blazer and the size 0 fits me well with a tank or tee underneath. For reference: I wear a size 2 in last year's Ecole jacket with just a tee or tank underneath. :)

  42. FFM: Thank you *so* much for sharing many of the new arrivals at your store. It all sounds lovely- Especially the Frances & the Eden! I can't wait to see the silk scarves too. Yey for new Fall arrivals! :)
