This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring/Summer sale, or to see some new Fall arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
NOTHING in b&ms, imo.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to visit one next week. Haven't been to a B & M in over a year as none near me. Hope to see lots of fall items if even just for fun. Rewards cards will be coming soon too:)
ReplyDeleteMassive sale update, ladies - new items marked down (the new suede Juliets? already?) and further marked down items.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting until Monday to go in order to see the new arrivals. :)
ReplyDeleteThe stores in my area didn't have much exciting left when I was there last week, so I'm going to have to wait until the new stuff is on the floor...now if only husband had gotten me a J Crew card for my birthday...it was so cute when he whipped out a gift card...to Banana Republic, a place I never shop at! He thought they were the same place!

ReplyDeleteI'll be going next week after the new items are out.
ReplyDeleteNicole: LOL. Too funny! My hubby now knows what J. Crew is but before I started my own blog devoted to J. Crew clothing, he would have never, ever known the difference between the Gap, J. Crew, Banana Republic, or Ann Taylor. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a medium size space-dyed cardigan right now....just put "space dyed" in the search!
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned that the origami tank was available in stores for 19.99. If anyone comes across one, I'd be grateful if you'd let me know. (Even more grateful if you'd pick it up and let me paypal you the $ for it!) I'm looking for it in a medium, in the mushroom color. I received one in a recent order, size large, and it was swimming on me.

cardmember sneak peak of the new items just arrived in my email.... lots of cute stuff! can't wait for fall (wish it would stop raining here)...
ReplyDeleteOT sizing question - I know I saw someone comment at one point that the falling petals tank was running small. If you could elaborate that would be great! TIA!
ReplyDeleteKater: I called for measurements on the tank and it appears to be running a size or two smaller than the current *normal* J.Crew sizing. I only have bust measurements for size 0, 2, and 4, but maybe it will help anyways. It appears as if each size gains one inch in the bust.
ReplyDelete0: 34.25 inches
2: 35.25 inches
4: 36.25 inches
I normally wear a 0 and sometimes a 2 in the tanks and camis, but will need to try both the 2 and 4 on in this particular tank.
If you are considering ordering it online I would definitely suggest calling to get specifics on the size you are looking for. HTH! :)
I am on the fence about ordering the falling petals tank. (I live in canada, so have to order online) Anyone have strong thoughts about this tank, either way?
ReplyDeleteYes I will ...cant wait to see the new arrivals in person :-)
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen any leftover Soft Tee cardigans in XS in Navy at their B&M? I just tried to buy one online and it was snapped up before I could finish checking out! Any leads are much appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have feedback on the sizing for the silky scoopneck tank (#14977) and the soft tee scoopneck top (#15281)? The description for both says fitted, but I am wondering how fitted. I usually size up in the graphic crewneck Ts as I don't like them too snug, and am wondering if I should size up in these as well. Ugghhh...I hate final sale!
Thanks!

OT- but does anyone have any shopping suggestions for Rome? I'm going next week and wondering where I can find some nice cashmere or nice JC-ish items. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJBird, I just saw two at the Madison Avenue Collection store. They were both a size S in the mushroom color but would probably fit a M.
ReplyDeleteAnd they still have the 20% off promo, worst-case scenario you will offer it on the wewkly exchange! I woul call right now, this is the number: 212-249-3869.
Not much of the new stuff out at the Ann Arbor store, sherpa hoodies and some tees. The 20% off of sale prices is still in effect there, but not much is left. There is one eyelet strapless dress in a 12 for 29.99 before % off, and the same sad jersey dresses at 19.99 (bonbon, twist strap.) Plenty of ripstop cargoes and tees. Men's sale was OK, the usual suspects present: striped and solid polos, flip flops aplenty, some boxers, and some button downs.
ReplyDeleteThe store was like a ghosttown! I wasn't tempted at all today, which is great since I'm waiting for my goodies from the last promo. I went a bit sweater happy, which has me itching to pull out cashmere Peyton sweater dresses I got last year. I'm kind of ashamed to admit, I want to crank up the AC to dance around in my winter stuff like a loon. It would really be loony too, since it's barely in the 70's today.
Rosie: I was considering the Scattered Petals Tank, but then realized it has one of those dreaded side zippers, so it's no longer on my wishlist. I really wish they would stop with the side zip.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, my local store didn't ever get the origami tank. I looked for it again today since someone mentioned it had gone down to 19.99, but no luck still. Has anyone else found it at that price?
ReplyDeleteQuestion on the new bag for men. Has anyone seen it in stores and/or have any general opinions or commentary on it.
ReplyDeleteThe Link:

thanks.
Only saw a few new items in the stores... the 20% off is still going on. According to the SA, the promotion will end when the sale items are cleaned out. The glass pearl necklace (with crystals) is on sale for $19.99! I saw that online today but was sold out. Was able to get the online price in store. Have been wanting this since it first came out so I got 2 colors. Didn't want to pay $38.00 for each!
ReplyDeleteHello, ladies,
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know whether or not the embossed-cotton piazza dress (item 16615) is running true to size or not? I'd love to snag it at 50+% off, but JC's sizing was really crazy this season so I don't know if I should size up or down, or by how much, if at all. TIA!!!!!!!
I am giving away 30% off BR/GAP/OLD NAVY coupons on my blog. Interested people can check it out at http://bit.ly/XNbGG
ReplyDeleteRun,don't walk, to the Reston, Virginia J. Crew on Monday night for special JCA Private Shopping Event. You'll see, try and buy before anyone else all the New Arrivals! The bulk of new arrivals won't be put out on the floor until Tuesday so you'll be FIRST! Plus, you'll get 20% off $125 or more. If you live in the DC area, come on out!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I need opinions....
ReplyDeleteI've been a huge fan of the cafe capri since summer 08. I love imitating audrey hepburn's style, and since I'm 5 ft. 9 in. and quite thin, the cafe capri looked more like ankle pants on me. (think the pants Audrey wore in "Funny Face" while in Paris.) However, I lost weight and can't wear my tried-and-true black capris from last summer.
SHOULD I.... purchase a pair cafe capris on clearance in the summer 2009 style or should I purchase a pair of the Minnie pant? (ps. I'm not a fan of the pixie pant so that's out of the question. Too tight for my taste.)
I would greatly appreciate anyone's input on the topic.... thank you thank you thank you in advance :)
I won't be going to the store this weekend. I was there last week and got some great sale items with the 20% off. My SA called today to say the new releases would be in store on Wednesday so that's when I'm going. I have a pair of way too tiny Lylas to return.
ReplyDeleteThere is a J.Crew Eyelet Pencil Skirt in Ivory in a size 2 on ebay right now...isn't this a really popular skirt?
ReplyDeleteholy bejesus there's a huge sale update this morning
ReplyDeleteRockefeller Center and South St Seaport NYC were both big piles of snooze. SSS says new stuff is out on Monday!
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! I just wanted to let those in CT know that I stopped by the J.Crew at The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk (South Windsor, CT) and they did *not* have any new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteThey did offer 20% off final sale items- however there were not that many sale items left. (Not really worth the visit until next week). Hope this helps! :)
Hi, I have been to the Madison Avenue (Midtown) store today and I wanted to report that they had two Claudine Dresses (one size 6 and one size 8) if anybody is interested. The sale section was VERY sparse, only a few City fit capris in black (quite interesting it looked like thay had a whole batch of sizes 00) and a few Monterey and Mica minis
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the glass pearl necklaces w/the crystal (orig $38) on sale, could they please let me know what stores still have some. I will do a charge send. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kalimarie, I bought mine from the Rockefeller Center store (NY). The necklace wasn't marked on sale. I asked the SA to match the online price and they did have to call customer service to check the price since it was sold out online. Try calling them - 212 765 4227. They should still have the necklace... but depending what color you're looking for. Plenty of the natural and shell color ones there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean. I will give them a call. I was interested in the natural color.
ReplyDeleteHey all,
ReplyDeleteJust a quick heads- up I acutally found some nice things at the Gilroy outlet!
Ususally, it's very hit or miss. Since I was in the area, returning an AT item for a friend, I stopped by & found:
Suiting -
City fit trousers #99223 in black & grey reg $138 on sale for $95
Tailored pencil skirt #95737 in black, grey & navy pinstripe was $120 now $75
3 button jacket #95735 in black & grey org $238 now $170
The fit wasn't as sharp as I'd like for me, but it might be worth stocking up for a fellow JCA
Also found
Seersucker -
3 button jacket $50
Trousers $60
Put on the jacket -- too boxy! I could hear Gigi, Princess, soon to be Phd & all my fellow jca's screaming "Oh noooo! TAKEITOFFTAKEITOFFTAKEITOFF!"
It's a pity 'cause I'd love some new summer layers for work.
Also saw a lot of jackie & tartine wannabes for around $30-$40. Theey had some pretty colours, esp purples, blues & peacock. I just can't bring myslf to buy 'em when they don't feel as soft & durable as the real deal.
Oh & speaking of imitations.. They had several mini cords & a few colours of cord pencil skirts with the made for outlet 3 diamond logo as well. The pencil skirt fits well, but I decided not to hand over $50 when I had the real deal (purchased for $20 during HOHOHO)hanging in my closet at home.
In the end, I walked out of the store with a few gifts for the men in my life - ties & socks mostly.
On the plus side, they did honour my edu discount!
HTH everyone,
Heather:D
P.S. please excuse the confusig sign in, I'm on the home system. Thanks
Hey Sam, good choice on the bag. I actually have one from about three years ago. Mine is Blackwatch plaid in a waxed cotton that is pretty waterproof. My only complaint with the bag is that it is entirely soft with no structure or support built into it so it gets quite floppy and folds around whatever is inside of it. When it's empty is really becomes shapeless.
ReplyDeleteIt's well made and stands up to regular life. I discovered how waterproof it is on a wide at Sea World. The inside of the bag was the only dry thing after we got soaked. Good thing the passport and wallet were inside of the bag.
Hope this helps.
