Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Do any of the 15% off codes work anymore?

    2. Thank you! I used it this morning. Really appreciate people sharing these codes. I don't know how to get them and I have never been offered one :-)

  2. Picked up the University half zip tunic in a couple of colors. They're perfectly oversized and great to throw over leggings.

    Partial to Pink

    1. You look so cute in that new top; I didn't realize how pretty the print is (Ruffleneck organic cotton top in Liberty® Meadow Song floral). Very nice option for spring and the ruffles are subtle.

  3. I got one of the silk scarves BG640 in that black/geometric floral print.
Went back to get the cocoon puffer with polartec in the olive after getting the navy earlier this week. Not sure that will ship as it’s sold out. (I order tall XS aq920 in the green.)

Stopping myself from getting more coats. A friend just got the cocoon coat in the light gray and it’s pretty. I’ve always stayed away from that silhouette and length so trying to not have sale goggles. I usually prefer a longer length.

    1. I thought I placed an order for the same scarf and BD798, the Featherweight satin tie-neck top in deep midnight, but the order doesn't appear in my order history and I didn't receive an email. Hmm . . .

  4. the Side-slit soft-crinkle gauze maxi skirt BG548 looks really cute! just wondering if white will be a gamble if it's too sheer...

  5. My nearest J Crew is now 45 minutes away, but I am excited to be in the vicinity tomorrow so I will stop in. The new arrivals haven’t really tempted me online lately, but there is something about being in the store and being able to see colors and do try-ons that usually changes my mind.

I was working on a closet changeover this week, and pulled out the Washed Ruffle-Collar Trench from maybe 2011? Does anyone remember it - cropped and swingy with the lovely lining and piping? It’s in perfect condition and I decided to wear it today - it is as cute as ever, and I could barely get down the hallway at work without getting stopped w compliments and “where did you get that jacket.”

I have to be careful in my “urge to purge” to not get rid of some of these classic J Crew treasures.

  6. I know this is late and not part of the current conversation but I wanted to make sure to add my 2 cents. During the past Vent conversation, there were some comments about the blog and FB. I don't often have much to say but I love this blog and the conversations, topics and comments (even when there is disagreement). I have FB but don't get to it very often so I miss out on a lot of JC-conversation. I, too, come here first for JC comments, discussion, info and the JC-love (and more recent non-love)! I miss it when there is very little conversation because it has moved to FB. I'm still here...listening, reading and enjoying!

    4. You're not alone. I'm here too :). J Crew is still my go to brand even though the new arrivals have been meh. I wore all J Crew tonight to a fundraiser. Collection sequin multicolor stripe maxi skirt, feather sleeve top in blue and Liberty flower print slingbacks with a bow back. Compliments galore.

    5. rashawnda, I wouldn’t say it’s been *moved* to Facebook…so many people stopped commenting here and many people had issues with blogger, as did I, which is why I stared the Facebook group. Not to take away from anyone posting here.

    7. I am here too, I don't use Facebook. I missed whatever conflict went down here a few weeks ago, just caught the end where a few people left. I don't need to know what happened, but I hope people will continue posting here.

    8. I may not comment very often, but I am still visiting and reading! I am grateful that Alexis keeps this website going. I have never been on Facebook so I appreciate everyone's continuing participation.

Since J Crew changed their Canadian pricing model (Who would pay $170 Cdn for an item that is $20 US?!) I have radically cut down my J Crew shopping. I now shop on J Crew only through their US website and use a shipping service. I wrote a detailed "how to" on that for Canadians on JCA about a year ago which I will link below. (I've also cut down because I have been working remotely for two years.) But I wear and love the pieces I have and still find the occasional gem at really good prices.

I know that people have concerns about the declining quality and some of the design choices, but for me, J Crew is still where I will find more things that work for me when I factor in design aesthetic, price and fit.

    9. JCrew's Canadian pricing has "cured" me of my J Crew addiction.
I have shopped the Gap and BR.
I may order again when I can easily order through the US site and have it shipped to just south of the border here In BC.
I don't think they want Canadian customers....I agree who would pay those prices. sad but they did it too themselves.

    10. I don’t use FB either. J Crew isn’t singing to me this season. I did my spring shopping at Gap, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, a local boutique, and Old Navy.

Looked in Madewell two weeks ago and wondered how they are so popular. So many clothes shaped like big squares. I don’t want to disparage anyonés taste. It just really wasn’t for me.

    13. I still check both here and FB .. but for me, it's just easier to post photos and stuff on FB ... whether it's reviews or ISO kind of posts. Plus I think a lot of people just stopped commenting as much here because, well, there isn't much to comment on. We're not as excited about the new stuff as the years go on.

    14. I am also a non FB user, but check here several times a day! I love that people can share photos on FB though. I don't reply here a ton but have been reading JCA for like 15 yrs (?!) and everyones comments and reviews and promo code sharing is SO HELPFUL and APPRECIATED.
Today I'm wearing JC cropped jeans, JC loafers, Ralph Lauren pink OCBD and and a JC mens merino v neck cardigan. :D

does anyone have insight how sales are going? do people like this new look? i am guessing its gen z and millenials theyre targeting now

  8. The recent discussion made me think about the things I love about J Crew that are still produced: tissue turtlenecks, petite chinos and jeans, wool coats, French terry items, field jackets, barn jackets, cashmere in an array of bright colors, Liberty shirts and dresses, blazers and Lady jackets...

    1. TM, this is a great list of iconic J Crew staples that are a huge part of my wardrobe, too. I miss the Collection and special items they used to have before the world went athleisure-crazy (like Mygoddy’s sequin skirt!), but I will always look to J Crew for these items and I hope they continue to offer them. Quality has declined, but that’s true everywhere.

  9. They will not work for everyone but I took a gamble on the petite slouchy boyfriend jean. I went down one size from my usual vintage straight size. They were about $25 US or I would not have taken the gamble - and I love them! I can see why some people think this cut is the greatest thing ever and others hate it because it will depend on individual proportions.

If you can try some sizes on, it's worth a try.

The ones I got have a blend of cotton and lycocell. Some of these jeans are 100% cotton and are going to be much more rigid and may fit differently.

    1. I love a good boyfriend Jean and J Crew has some good options. Glad they worked out for you.

JA, I'm shopping a lot less too at J Crew, but I have still managed to find some goodies, but most of it has been casual wear. I like Anthropologie too; haven't bought much recently.

  10. Long time reader, I don’t post very often. (Sometimes I have issues posting and I don’t do FB). Love reading about everyone’s purchases and appreciate the honest feedback. I’m a long time JCrew shopper probably older and more fuller figured than most here but usually I was able to find at least a few beautiful classic pieces per season. I haven’t purchased any clothing from JCrew in months as someone said above they are clearly targeting the young. It’s a shame I always felt JCrew was inclusive with looks for all ages and shapes but It hasn’t been that way recently.

Overall I would say I’m buying less in general and I’m willing to pay full price if I find something I love. I’ve picked up a couple things at Anthropologie, Gap and Ralph Lauren. I don’t get the appeal of Madewell either. I’ve liked some of their jeans but every top is short and square! Their muddy palette isn’t my favorite either. I’m usually drawn to navy, black and ivory/white with pops of clear brighter colors.

    1. Also confused about the popularity of Madewell. I do like their socks (ha) as they run kind of long and I'm a shoe size 10/11. I used to like some of their bags/totes but quality is way down. You described them perfectly: short square tops and muddy palette.

    2. The only thing I’ve gotten from Madewell in recent memory is bandanas, candles and whisper tshirts (which I won’t buy again as they developed holes immediately). They used to have a cut of tank I like that’s sort of a thicker knit but I don’t think they had black or white last year.

    3. Agreed on their bags they used to be great quality for the price but like everything else they aren’t nearly as nice as they used to be. I’m still using a couple of their zippered pouch/wallets that are many years old. I need to finally retire them but I can’t find anything comparable…the zipper went down the side (more recent just zip straight across top) and there are slots for cards…they also fit my phone, keys and lip balm…love them.

    4. “Muddy palette,’ yes! I have only purchased two pairs of jeans ever at Madewell, as the color palette and styles just don’t suit me. In fact, I feel that J Crew moving in the stylistic direction of Madewell is one of the reasons I’m finding fewer things to love at J Crew lately.

  11. Received ribbed long cardigan sweater in heather beachside blue (BG101). I'm in love with this blue. It's so pretty. Cardigan fit tts; I would describe it as a relaxed fit. I know the reviews are awful about the pilling. I paid $22. haven't worn it yet, but I'm planning to do so next week. It matches Collection Silk Liberty Melody Floral pants and top perfectly. It's a nice option for transitioning to spring temps.
