Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Visited today and tried on a bunch of things. Posted pics in the Facebook group (unofficial JCA).

    Squareneck button-front linen top
Item BG249 Tried this on with the mini skirt
    Linen smocked mini skirt
    Item BG546
Thought it made a super cute vacation look but not sure I’d have a need to wear anything like this regularly. I have quite a few black linen tops but did like this one, it’s different for me. I thought the skirt was flattering. I liked the wide elastic at the waist and will think about this (and the linen smocked puff sleeve which I already have in white) to add to my collection.

Also tried new seaside shorts and pants, Kate pants, the wide leg bi stretch cotton pants. Kate pants seemed to run a bit big, but the cut was meh for me.

Tried the new cupro blazer and pants and did not like the cut of the pants.

Tried the cotton poplin cutout dress for fun…I’m not a dress person and especially not a midi dress person but this was cute. Elastic is a bit higher than my natural waist but I thought it looked ok on, just felt funny.

  2. I did visit the Pasadena store on the weekend. My nearest store has closed. I didn't try out anything. The new styles aren't appealing to me. Everything looks very junior and poorly made. :(

  3. I bought the gauze dress with the rope belt, thought it might be a cute coverup but it feels very heavy and sticks out strangely around my hips, I kept looking for pockets but there weren’t any🤪 now I know why it was $49.50.
I also got the Ruched squareneck one-piece bathing suit Item BF179 & it went back immediately. The reviews were correct the lining showed and style won’t work it you have a long torso. I’m waiting for the Wide-strap heeled thongs in croc-embossed leather
Item BE793 to arrive. I’m hoping they will work, I have a very high arch/instep
I’ve been very disappointed so far in JCrew spring styles.

  4. I visited both a regular J. Crew and a J. Crew outlet last week. I don't have a nearby J. Crew any more so it was fun to go in and see things in person. I liked a lot of the prints, but the cuts of the clothes were not good for me. Too many little bo peep, crop tops, high waisted shorts and pants. They had a lot of what are to me special occasion clothes. I don't have anywhere to wear the cute floral dresses with the cutouts or the floral sets or the little bo peep dresses. The store I went to had some swim, and styles looked cute but I'm pretty well set for swim.

I did buy a few things though. Item BF360 the magic rinse half zip, is a great warm weather option and I wore it every day after I bought it while on vacation. I also bought AW686 the classic-fit cozy gauze shirt in pistachio, BF721 the space dyed crew sweater, BD394 the 9" Billie in odette, and BF397 the mid rise denim shorts. I miss being able to go into a store and try on clothes. I hate the order/return cycle, and I hate that I have to pay the return shipping any time I want to try on J. Crew clothes.

  5. Received Ecru denim shirt dress. I sized up and that was the right call; I tried on my usual size, but the bust was tight. It's a mini but not too short and I'm just over 5.8. Also received Liberty Georgia Duke tie sleeve top and cotton mini skirt. Saw this look on J Crew's IG and I like the pairing. Tucking didn't work for me, so I tied the front of the shirt and that looks much better. Will be a fun look for spring and summer.
