Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. The SALETIME promo doesn’t seem to be working any longer on items that were previously included. Bummer.

I’m contemplating the reversible bucket hat in black/pine but not for $44.

  2. Wanted to report back on the
    ECO PADDLE SHORT
    Item AY408.
Reviews mostly said they ran huge but I never trust sizing reviews anymore because people don’t give enough info. With a long torso things that are huge on others have to sit lower on me. I admit I was not sure with these. I have a small waist and I had to try these on a few times before I decided to stick with the XS. I don’t really find them huge but if you have a thicker waist and skinny legs or a shorter torso I could see how the leg shape would feel very wide.

I don’t know that I will wear these other than over a bathing suit. The material and style seems more suited to water activities and not hiking but maybe if it was a super hot situation I would, but typically I’d wear longer bottoms because of bugs and weeds. 🐜 🍃

  3. Was sick all weekend so I couldn't do my actually birthday outing at the mall with my friend which always includes a stop at JCrew. I'm interested in the Cotton-cashmere patch-pocket mockneck sweater (Item BA320). Anyone try this one? Run big? How's the cotton/cashmere blend?

  4. In March I bought RUFFLE-SLEEVE TOP WITH EMBROIDERED EYELET
Item AR971 but knew the eyelet ruffle twisting down the sleeve might make it a challenge for me to wear. I finally went for it and cut the eyelet off to create a little raw edge detail. The eyelet on the placket adds enough detail for me and it’s a slightly boho take on a classic popover that I will now be able to wear.

    1. I always see JCAs talking about modifying items. I wish I was that creative. My luck is not that great and the item would end up in the trash instead of (at least) being able to consign. SuzHas, the change to the shirt sounds too cute!

    2. I figured it was worth a shot, Rashawnda. I find in the heat of summer I prefer a light loose cotton woven over a knit and I didn’t have this shape in black, oddly enough. At under $10 I was willing to take a risk and figured if cutting the eyelet didn’t work I could cut the sleeves too since there is a little detail there.

I’ve been known to paint buttons, splatter paint, etc. I actually have a pile of shirts I just took out of my closet and if my girls don’t want them I will try to do something creative.

    3. @Suz, I admire your talent so much. I would love to have you for a neighbor and Jcrew should hire you on our behalf. Your talent supersedes Olympia’s. Not joking.
