Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. A new iteration of the wishlist is back, if you mouse over the upper right corner of an item's picture, you can click a heart to add it to your favorites. I'm not sure How this is different than "saved for later" feature in the cart, or what was wrong with the wishlist feature they abruptly got rid of a long, long time ago, but okay!

    1. Hmm, once you add it to your favorites, the only thing you can do is add to cart. The picture isn't actually a link to the item page, which is annoying and makes it so the list can't be easily edited. If you do add to bag, though, it doesn't remove it from the wishlist, which is nice. Adding something to bag from the "Saved for later" section in the cart removes it from that section.

    2. I saw that last night, the little hearts. Thanks for the details.

  3. I placed my first order in over a month for the Eco paddle short
Item AY408—they’ve been excluded from sale or promos as long as I’ve been eyeing them. I saw the promo PBANOS posted yesterday (saw on Retailmenot but not sure where it originated) so for about $30 I think they are fair.
I have rewards but too risky because reviews say they run large so I tried two sizes.

    1. I like those too, let us know how they work for you. Maybe good for running or hiking?

    2. Not much of a runner but any other outdoor warm weather activities—hiking, water sports, beach/pool coverup.

  4. I’m anxious to see JCA reviews on some of the new arrivals - esp the cashmere - after wear. I have rewards and a gift card that I’m anxious to spend on the gems. I’ve resigned myself to neutral colors from J Crew for now.

  6. Anyone knows when jcrew updates its website? It used to be around 4-5 am, but I found no major update in the past month or so.

    1. @anonymous, I’ve seen it update around 2a.m. EST and without images at times. Its hit or miss with them and their algorithms hard at work.

  8. @eeps, and others who love a good Collection animal print. LaDouble J has a beautiful print called Giungla Rainforest print in silk twill. Swing dress, jersey t shirt, etc. it’s reminiscent of Ratti and Drakes. I don’t understand why a Jcrew hasn’t put one out as they were always big sellers and haven’t inked a collaboration with Mantero textiles or even Ratti for that matter. I purchased the swing dress in the above pattern, it’s classic and a mini. Pricey, but got a large discount so it was worth it. You can view it on the Saks website.

    1. Oh, lovely prints. After failing to get Giungla Rainforest to come up on a search, I just searched for LaDouble J and got a bunch of lovely hits. I clicked on a wonderful looking unicorn, Medieval looking print and there it was--the giungla rainforest print. It never hurts to train your eye by looking at the best stuff, even if you can't justify it.

    2. It is a gorgeous print but at that price, I’d rather buy a fabulous vintage Etro or Pucci piece!

    3. @eeps, I agree which is why I posted I received a large discount. You all know I never pay full price for anything high end. BTW, I purchased a beautiful Etro dress a couple of couple years ago through Nordstrom for under $400.00. I had posted here

  9. I received the Slim boyfriend chino pant in stripe from the Labor Day sale, the ones that Kate had reviewed as being big. I went one size smaller AND took the petite version, and boy am I glad I did. I tried them on after a big dinner and they were still a little loose in the waist. They also feel a bit low rise, so I’m nervous about showing crack if I bend over, between the loose waist and low rise! They are super lightweight - I expected fabric similar to my favorite cotton Camerons that feel like chinos. These almost feel like a cotton dress shirt material! Also very stretchy - I am shocked it is only 2% elastane. I am 5’1 and the petite version makes me look like I’m wearing clam diggers, not cropped pants. And they arrived pre-cuffed, which was not in the model photo. I’m totally fine with these given the price I paid, but between the light material and length, definitely can only wear them during warm weather.

    1. Glad you like them! I looked at them during the sale and held off. I like my grey ones but they wrinkle so much! I did wear them but the wrinkles made me loom like grunge! Lol

I also got few of my orders! Still looking through them. Keep you all posted. But likely small return trip tomorrow to the store.

    2. Some of my stuff arrived… mostly returns

Puff-sleeve cotton poplin mini shirtdress in blooming floral BA919. I bought 3 sizes with intent to wear to work! XS, XXS, and XS Tall. Kept the XS tall. Returned other 2 on Friday. Tall comes to the knee. And ordered xxs as xs tall seems big! Tried with a thin Tory Burch belt and grey school boy blazer from 2013. I did order small think braided belt on amazon I think it will look better! The dress it itself fits large! I would of preferred the XXS, with the tall length. Sleeves are cute, little big! But overall very comfy snd cute. I can probably wear it with boots and tights in fall!
Button-up collared T-shirt BA384, got black and white. Size up to small! $18. They pull at chest and i sized up. I am 32c. So it should not pull. It fits everywhere else. Looks nice. And I can remedy with some invisible tape. But don’t want to…. Will return!
Classic-fit ruffleneck shirt in cherry blossoms BB244 $25.84. Looks pretty! Size down to zero! Fits well. Good fabric. The neck is killing me…. Seriously! I did try similar shirt in stripe in the winter and returned for same reason. Maybe longer neck people would work better! Returning for sure!
Dreamy cotton robe AY361 $13.60. Got the sheer blue. I purge 2 this summer so good price for replacement! Love it. Keeping!
Dreamy short-sleeve pajama short set in airy floral AY353 $21.76. Love theese! Rebought at cheaper price! I love dreamy pajamas! No wrinkles!
Classic-fit shirt in Liberty® Elysian Day floral BA883 $33.66. Non final sale! Audrey got me on this one! 😂. I am returning. I order dress in same color! It’s little washed out to me. But pretty. Got zero. Fits well! I don’t think I need shirt and dress( not shipped yet). Shirt was not final sale so Will return and if it’s ever super cheap may rebuy!
4" stretch chino short H5806 $10.20 VINTAGE CITRUS. Good price! Sure thing! Be good for my tennis games! Lol. I need pockets to hold my balls! I did buy the navy with hearts earlier this summer and enjoyed them even with white shirt and sandals!

    3. Kate, how did the Elysian floral shirt look in person? Is it similar to the website photos? Did you take your normal size or size down (as reviewers suggested). While I was trying to make up my mind about sizing it went up in price then went to final sale, lol. I was thinking it would be pretty under some of my winter things...navy sweater or gray sweatshirt.

    4. It’s pretty! I do like the print! I went down to zero. It fit well. Pocket almost invisible which I like. Pink comes through over yellows! But as I have the dress on the way I will return and see I can buy it on some supper duper sale! Its $72, and if they have 60 off lien before it maybe cheaper!
But both shirts I got are going back! The cherry blossom is very pretty! But I could not handle the neck… lol

    1. There was a banana discussion in last week’s LOOKING TO VENT post. Not venting. I don’t need much but I’d love to try those red wool pants and matching blazer. They are currently backordered until November (when I last checked).

    2. Yes, those red wool pants and blazer from BR are smashing--at least in the photos! "Princess seams" on the blazer made my heart beat a little faster after seeing all of JC's "drapey," "relaxed," and "over-sized" things in cat food colors.

  11. ...And Anthro is doing something all new also. They are reminding me why I love the Fall and Winter collections so much! I just need my beloved JC to catch up.

    1. I’ve been loving what Anthro has been posting on IG from their fall collection. Also Boden. Colors and prints! JC is so boring and BASIC next to them.

    2. @eeps: Boden looks very appealing with all of their vibrant colors and prints. If their clothes were not all too large for me, I would be all over them. It's a good thing because I am trying to keep my closet under control.
