Happy Holidays! {celebrating w/J.Crew?}

First and foremost... Happy Holidays everyone! It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones, enjoy fantastic meals, and share thoughtful gifts!

Per JCA tradition, this post is to find out what everyone is going to wear. I find it really interesting to see what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing (and of course it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits). :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear for the Holidays? :)

I am going to wear today J.Crew's Buffalo Check Shirt-Jacket, with a plain tissue turtleneck and Madewell's Skinny Jeans. Warm, comfortable and stylish. Exactly the look I want to go for!

What are you planning to wear this Holiday party season? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. I'm wearing the Thomas mason festive plaid flannel, Gap skinny dark blue jeans, the grey open cardigan, multistrand pearls and the jcrew biker boots if I have to go outside;). Merry Christmas everyone!

  2. Happy Holidays, Alexis!

I've picked three outfits and will decide tomorrow depending on my mood.

This fall's Madewell grey knit sweater that came with the matching knit skirt.

J.Crew Tippi in Navy with this season's knitted midi skirt in navy and the Saint James Cartier Breton beanie.

    or

A red wool dress that was on J.Crew's style guide; on the cover are ballerinas wearing cashmere sweaters in grey. Will be pairing the dress with black tights.

What ever outfit I choose, I will wearing it with my Everlane Chelsea boots in black.

  3. Happy Holidays Alexis, and thanks for all that you do! I will be wearing this season's Merino V neck cardigan in, I think, Academic Green with an old school J Crew silk ruffled neck sleeveless blouse, corduroy skirt, tights and Tory boots.

  4. Happy Holidays, all! Check out the new Drunk J.Crew, The Night Before Christmas. Love it!

  5. So warm up here in the NY area—for Christmas Eve (my family's big traditional dinner) it was too warm to wear the black pants I searched forever to find!
Instead i wore the Rayner jean in Keller wash, an old red tartan tuxedo top (very lightweight cotton) with the wool back zip sweater in charcoal on top and piles of multistrand pearls with another necklace from JC my sister got me last year (it has two charms on it but I've never seen it online). Footwear was Elsie glitter pumps. Oh and a super, super old Ralph Lauren leather belt I haven't been able to wear much since low waisted jeans became the thing. (The high rise jeans work with my old tiny waisted belts!)
Today it's supposed to be mid 70s, so I may wear the Rayner jeans in Crescent Wash or the point sur teddy buckle back with a red and white striped top from the spring (my version of a candy cane?) or another tuxedo top.

  6. Happy Holidays Alexis and JCAs! :)
For Christmas Eve dinner last night I wore the silk drapey V-neck blouse in belvedere red, Crystal rosette necklace and plaid Elsie heels with black ankle length pants.
Today I think I'm wearing the perfect shirt in Stewart plaid with a chunky cardigan (undecided, either the black cotton one from last year or a grey open one from Banana) with dark jeans and black Chelsea boots.

  7. Merry Christmas everyone! Today I'm wearing my "vintage" as in holiday 2010 tartan plaid shirt (still thinking of buying the Stewart plaid lol) and either toothpicks or AG skinny jeans. Just going for comfort with my baby and toddler and their sticky hands. I wore my vintage pjs last night which are always comfy. Yesterday I wore the vibrant red tissue tee and toothpicks. I usually dress up more but my 4 yr old is sick so we're all laying low. So it was a jcrew Christmas as usual. :)

  8. I wore the leather front pixie pants with a plaid shirt last night. Today, I'm thinking of wearing a black dress, black tights, and the suede pull on boots in the pony brown color. Or maybe a black skirt, the boots and a cream cable knit cashmere sweater.

  9. Merry Christmas Alexis! All the best to you in 2016.

Going with the midweight hoodie and JBrand jeans. The hoodie is the best one I've had in years; soft, fitted and so cozy. Jbrand makes the perfect denim for me in the Tyler cut.

Happy Boxing Day sales to all of you!

  10. Merry Xmas everybody! If I ever get out of my pajamas (JCrew of course) I am going to wear the original tartan plaid shirt and red jeans.
In case you don't follow her, Giovanna Battaglia (IG name: bat_gio) wore the sequin buffalo plaid shirt + pants hookup yesterday for Xmas Eve in posh St. Moritz. It's worth subscribing ;-). Now I regret a bit the shirt since it has been so warm here...

    1. To each his own, but I do not understand those pants at all! And I have a good number of "fun" pants, but the sequin + buffalo plaid + droopiness of those pants makes me smh!

    2. @Ema, she looks cute in the outfit; some folks think she's wearing a jumpsuit. I could see the shirt being a fun & versatile piece to dress up or down.

    3. I saw! I was going to tag you, Gigi, and Maqsad. :)

    4. I agree Blakemdjohns! Those pants look like sequin diaper covers. I do not understand the love. They are so unflattering.

    5. Ooh! Heading over to check it out now! JSR, thanks for thinking of me! ;)

    6. I think she looks fabulous in the "hookup". I didn't try the pants so I can't comment on the fit but my problem with the shirt was that it didn't look as dressy. Luckily I didn't think of the combo.
@Mydoggy, yes I wanted to show off my JCA knoweledge and comment "it's not a jumpsuit!"

  11. Merry Christmas Alexis and everyone else! I'm thinking the J.Crew stuart plaid shirt here with a burberry vintage black wool lace kilt...

  12. My sequin fair isle sweater has gotten lots of compliments today. Also wearing the Dulci heels in gray, they go quite well. Happy holidays!

  17. Head to toe J Crew but for the jeans: Collection jeweled collar white shirt, black jeans, metallic Viv flats and some crystal bracelets. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

  18. Adorable outfit plans collapsed in the face of high temperatures - so for cooking, an old favorite tank and lightweight Reid jeans, for the dressier part of the day, Endless white shirt and black silk pants.

  19. Happy Holidays all! I wore all Jcrew yesterday to celebrate at dinner with my family and in-laws. I wore the new(ish) rock port plaid in the ivory color (which I love as it is super soft and tts for me), along with my old favorite destructed Miller toothpick jeans, the Mermaid glitter Sloan flats (I went up 1/2 a size in these and they are a bit scratchy but great!), and the crystal fabric backed earrings (which were a surprise gift from my husband) to finish it off. I wasn't sure about the earrings (item #e3958) at first but the distressed denim and plaid shirt felt like they were a nice addition to dress up the outfit. Hope you all had a lovely day! I wore all Jcrew for Christmas eve too and both outfits can be found here on my Instagram page if you would like to see, I'm @hersoulsociety there. https://www.instagram.com/hersoulsociety/

  20. Happy Holidays Alexis and Everyone! In Montana we were fortunate to have a White Christmas again this year, along with pretty chilly temps. My hubby, boys, and I were blessed to spend the afternoon with lots of friends, and enjoy Christmas dinner 'rustic' style in a decorated and heated barn (no live animals included). I started off the day in a pair of J.Crew jammies, and later wore a black Eileen Fisher turtleneck tunic, Madewell boyjeans, black Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie, and black Uggs.

On another note, for those of you contemplating shopping the After Christmas Sales...I've compiled a list of deals taking place at some of my favorite retailers, along with links to some of my recent reviews and IRL pics. Check it out here on my All Things Simplified blog. Have an absolutely wonderful weekend everyone! :)

  21. I wore my J. Crew black Minnies with my leopard calf-hair Harper flats and a lightweight Anthropologie sweater. The Minnies are my all-time favorite J. Crew pants, but I don't need them to bring them back because I bought a few pair as backups a couple of years ago :) They're just the best fit on me of any pants I've tried. This was my first time wearing the calf-hair Harpers (it took a while until I got a pop-back!) and they felt great on my feet because they're flat but still looked stylish with the pointed toe.

  22. I wore the J.crew flannel grey and white dots shirt (from last year ago which was way oversized...remember that one?--I'm just glad I still fit in a "size 4" ahahah). Joe's bootcut jeans and the MacAlister zip wedge booties, skiing penguin socks, and little dangling j.crew crystal earrings from eons ago :)

  23. This is off tangent and something more akin to WFF, but I came across these Tory Burch rubber flip flops. My, rubber flip flops are getting expensive. Yikes!

Someone mistyped the price at Saks.

  24. Btw, a belated Merry Christmas to all. We traveled out of state. Had good intentions to dress up (cute JC ski sweater, glitter Sloan, etc). Had a change of mind when I was surprised there would be 3 dogs in a small house. The Pomeranian, bulldog, and Labrador looked at each other with curiosity all day Christmas Day, except the Pomeranian who later looked like she wanted to bite off heads. I spent the day keeping our lab close to me at all times and walking her outside in the muddy fields.

Later it seemed worthless to change as everyone was getting tipsy with the eggnog and karaoke. Amazing how the more eggnog people have the bolder they get at singing karaoke. Surprised we didn't have 3 howling dogs on Christmas Day night.
