Last Day to Take 25% Off Purchases of $100+

J.Crew is reminding customers that today is the last day they are offering 25% off purchases of $100+ with promotional code GOSHOP.

This is a pretty great promotion, especially if you shopped in stores (where you could get it stacked with the 30% off sale merchandise).

Of course, I am now wondering what the next promotion will be. ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Do you know what the next promo with be? If so, please share!

  1. Am I crazy or does the fine print on the website say this deal goes until the 16th?? I'm so confused!

    1. @HollDoll129 -- Great minds think alike :-) I'm with you, this promo originally went until 11.16. Perhaps they finally realized that with new arrivals coming out tomorrow, the promo needed to go.

    2. I chatted with them and they said they reserve the right to change the promotions at any time. Seems dishonest to me.

  2. Is it me, or did they end this thing early? I could have sworn this promo went until 11-16.

  4. Yeah. It originally ended in the 16th.
Pfft. As if we wouldn't remember.

    1. You know what. .. I still have the email that says the 16th. Hmmmmmm... I wonder if they would still honor it.

  5. That stinks. I was hoping to use the promotion for new arrivals. Oh well.

  6. They may make it 25% and free shipping on all orders tomorrow?

  7. Ladies, good catch! You are right, it was suppose to go until the 16th. So I wonder what is up? Do you think they made a mistake?

  8. OT but did anyone buy the crystal baguette necklace? I've had so much trouble with mine! First I bought one, and by the time I got home from the store, one of the crystals had fallen out. I called customer service, and they replaced it, but then the replacement just broke in half! I wasn't even wearing it. It was just sitting in my jewelry box. Come on, J. Crew! I had jewelry from Claire's in middle school that lasted longer.

  9. I can only assume and hope that J Crew replaces this with a better promo. If not, it's shay-dee to pull a promo early.

    1. I agree...it should be better. Has anyone ever experienced a "PULLED EARLY PROMO" ?

    2. Haven't they done this before (changed the advertised end date of a promo), but the code still worked until the original end date? Will be interesting to see what happens this time...

  10. When I checked this am the website was still listing the promo as working until the 16th. Weird!

  11. I chatted with CS - she said that it was a mistake and that the promo will run until the 16th. She apologized for the confusion and said she would circle back with the team.

    WEIRD!

    2. I chatted with them too, the woman was very rude in telling me that the promotion was ending and that it was not a mistake. Get it together j crew!

  12. Before I went to bed at 1:30 pst, I noticed the legalese had changed. I'm with Amy. I placed a bet w/my bookie in Vega$ that the promo will be modified to 25% + free shipping no min.

    1. Gigi, my conversation with the VPS line confirmed this, I think. They told me they can't apply today's promo to pre-orders but that tomorrow's promo (wink, wink) could be applied if I called tomorrow. If I remember correctly, they'd done this before--ended a promo one day short to add free shipping on all orders. Let's hope, there are actually several things I like for a change!

  13. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that noticed that the date changed. I second guessed myself before seeing this feed today--should have trusted my gut! Regarding issues with promotional changes mid-promotion, I wanted to relay an experience that I have last week. During the LOVEFALL promotion, I noticed that the Downtown Field Jacket in the Navy colorway was on sale from $148 to $128. I read that stores were also doing an additional 40% off sale items so I went by one of my local stores to pick it up. I was promptly told that the jacket was not on sale but that they would honor the price of $128 anyway. I was never offered the additional 40% off and left pretty upset. I called J.Crew customer service in the parking lot and spoke with an incredibly rude representative (this has never happened by the way, I always have lovely representatives!) and she let me know that not only was that jacket not on sale, but that it in fact had NEVER been on sale throughout the entire promotional period. I was furious. I knew that I had not simply imagined a sale price only two days before when checking the website. She let me know that she couldn't help me, but told me "if you do a lot of business with that particular store, maybe they'll work with you" What!? I'm not going to go back and beg for a discount that should have been good through 11/6 (I went to the store on 11/5). In any case, I emailed customer service and received a prompt reply apologizing and confirming that that particular item HAD in fact been on sale but J.Crew had pulled it only two days into the promotion. I explained how disappointed I was and that I felt as if J.Crew played games with its customers when it pulled stunts like this. In the end I'm being credited the additional 40% off, but after all of the hassle I had to go through to get it, it really made me reasses where I want my hard earned dollars to go next time. I must say, seeing another promotional game change today has certainly not helped!

    1. Unknown - The promo prices ending in .00 get an addtl % off online. They never get an addtl 30% or 40% off in-store (see exception below). Apparently there are some stores who will do it, but I've never found that to be the case. I never even bother asking the store ever since I got a big headshake in the form of a no. So...

Downtown field jacket - on promo $128 online. Apply a promo code, the % will be taken of.

Downtown field jacket - regular price in-store, they will match the online promo price, but not apply an addtl discount

      Exception

Downtown field jacket - on promo in-store, automatically ringing up for $128, if there's a global promo i.e 25% off $100+ then it will be applied to the promo price.

HTH and is clear for anyone who has been as confused as I was. lol

    2. Gigi, ack! should shopping be that complicated?!

    3. cate - Right? And I probably confused some JCAs by trying to clear things up lol

    4. Unknown - If you run into an SA who will not apply the extra % off to a promo item in-store, ask them to place an online order for the item and have it applied. Once they see that the promo item is indeed eligible for the extra % off, they may go ahead and apply it to your in-store purchase. (In my experience, most SAs are just not aware that the promo item does get the extra % off, but do allow it once they realize the item is eligible). If not, then you will at least get your item with the extra discount from the warehouse and 60 days to return instead of 30.

    5. I agree with Gigi, I could never have this one applied even at the store where my ps works and at some point I stopped asking mainly because it makes me uncomfortable to play dumb. To be honest it seems a bit of a stretch. I mean, we all know the difference between sale and a promo. In my opinion it isn't supposed to work online either but for some reason they don't have the capability or the willingness to change it.
It doesn't hurt to try though and you could luck out but I think that it is pretty well enforced across the board.

  14. I have the feeling that there won't be a 25% off promo tomorrow. Maybe I am wrong but I feel like they decided to end it before because they don't want it to be applied to the new holiday arrivals. It might be worth it to stay up late to see if they switch to a new promo at midnight (while there is still time to order with the GOSHOP code). I have an item in my cart I am hesitant to pull the trigger on because I don't meet the minimum for the 25% off and free shipping but if tomorrow there is no promo I will be superbummed that I didn't order it.

  15. I stopped by the store today and they are no longer offering the 25% off $100. And they went to 40% off sale prices this morning. The associate said sale will be 40% off online tomorrow.

    1. While I was reading this comnent I was in a store where the SAs were telling the customers about the 25% off promo. Apparently if this was tge memo, they didn't get it. I think corporate should have a better way to communicate promos at least to the stores, if not to the clients. Maybe they should go back to a radio system with loud speakers that broadcast the promos, a global version of the famous loud speaker that Mickey uses at corporate.
I had two different experiences today. This morning at my Crewcuts store they were applying the 25% off but not the 30% off sales. Since it is a store where they rarely have a sale section and they didn't seem to have any idea of what I was talking about, they called another store and were told that the % off sales had ended. Bummer but at least they applied the 25% off. I refused to buy the item on sale with the 25% off because they told me it would be fs (I know it wouldn't be because if they don't scan a % off fs coupon there is no final sale but I just didn't want to buy it for a price that was higher than it would have been two days ago in another store). Then this afternoon I went to the other store and they were advertising the 25% but not the 40% off. I just can't get past the fact that if I go to different stores I get different promos and attitudes (like in the Crewcuts store I always pass as the crazy lady who makes up promos).
It is just too complicated to follow and leaves a bad taste especially if you got something and you find out that you could have gotten a better deal if you happened to be in another store.

  16. I'll submit my guess for tomorrow's promo. I think it will be 25% off of $150, free shipping one day only. I have no knowledge, just guessing!

  17. If Beach Chic Girl is right, then today would be the day to order any regular price merch you've had your eye on w/GOSHOP.

If Cate is right, you will still be able to get regular price merch w/a promo code.

In any case, here's the Regular Price Irl Pic Guide: http://bit.ly/17zjujm

  18. It won't let me reply for some reason, but thanks for the heads up Gigi! I do agree with Cate however, shopping should be way easier ha! At the end of the day, I really wasn't that upset about whether or not I would get an additional discount, it's the fact that my sales associate experiences both in store and on the phone made me feel as if I were a cheapskate and a liar :( I think I was just so caught off guard by having two back to back unpleasant experiences when I'm used to dealing with such sweet people--and not always giving me good news I might add! Gigi I wish you had been there! :)

    2. Unknown - You're welcome. :) The sales associates should watch out because if corporations could out source in-person service via Skype or something, they probably would. Can you imagine going to a store & being helped by computers? lol Anyway, so far in-person service cannot be outsourced and I wish employees would appreciate that more. Be thankful for the job & do the best you can each day! Take a moment in the stockroom in between tough transactions.

I think whoever is in charge of promos at J Crew should consider simplifying them going forward. Maybe they think we're more enticed by 30% + 25% off in-store. I'd rather it just be a straight 40%. It makes the math easier to do in my head. The promos are confusing from both sides of the register and I can see how employees are frustrated as the rules change every few days.

  19. OT: I rarely return anything 'final sale' from an online order, but since i am not sure now if I want to keep the cafe capri antique floral pants I bought, I might want to return it within the 60 day window.

Will the packing receipt indicate 'final sale', anywhere? Or is it a special code that only J.Crew systems would know after scanning?
I can't see it indicated anywhere in the packaging receipt.

I bought it during the 40% off cardmember, but for some reason, J.Crew had a few items that were marked 50%, and the cafe capri I bought was included in that 50%. I ended up spending $94.99 before tax. I know its a good deal, I love the print, and can go well with a lot of solid sweaters...but...

    TIA!

    1. JSR, I've noticed recently that my invoices don't have "Final Sale" printed on the bottom half any more like they used to. I tried returning something recently, not remembering it was final sale, and was told that it was final sale. They have that info in the computer system but as far as I can tell don't print it on the invoice any more. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. I questioned my memory and dug out some older invoices and they did have Final Sale printed on the bottom half, so at some point J. Crew was doing it. Not sure when/if they stopped. So I think they will see it is final sale when you go to return it, but they might cut you a break and let you return it, if you're lucky. Good luck!

    2. Thanks Cate.

My one and only experience with returning a dress, did say 'final sale' on the receipt.

I would hate to feel rejected if I tried to return it..haha!

Maybe I will just keep it. Its such a steal for a Collection piece...

    3. Cate, I had the same experience. Purchased a swimsuit along with some other items during a 40% off sale. Nothing was noted as final sale but when I tried to return it was told it was final sale. My argument was it does not say final sale on the invoice I had, so to me that is what counts not what is in the computer. They always used to have a * and a note item was Final Sale. If J Crew has changed their procedure then it is their receipt vs. their computer. I was able to return the item with the usual 'one time, only'. As an aside the swimsuit was from 2011, so have no clue where it came from or where it ended up.

    4. JRSConifer, there are some sales associates that believe any price that ends in .99 is final sale on the online receipts. I had to gently stand up for myself one time as it didn't specify final sale on the receipt. Plus, some associates need to learn that sometimes things are final sale online and there are periods where final sale is *not* in effect. Get ready for more...experiences...with the seasonal hirees.

  20. I was standing strong and not shopping (due to my over shop in the previous month) but today I caved. Just could not wait for the chambray button down #06385 to go on sale and wanted to avoid it selling out in my size. Because we all know if it sold out without me getting one life as we know it would end.

Looking forward to adding it to the shirt army I've assembled in my closet. It'll see plenty of action with ties, sweaters and even my Ludlow jackets.

  21. whole thing with promos, price adjustments, buy/return, is a depressing reminder of Nana's tales of dealing with WW II ration stamps - will this be enough, what will be left, what about next week. Oh, enough already. It's also reminding me of hitting the souk just before closing, too much bargaining for the sake of bargaining.

  23. Website now says 40% off sale items with code STYLETIME, today only. However, I tried GOSHOP and it still took the 25% off.

  24. GOSHOP promo is also still working (for now at least). Used it on a small order of new arrivals. Was tempted to grab the Buffalo Plaid pea coat, but because I live in Canada, didn't really want to pull the trigger before trying it on, as returning outwear from here is very expensive to ship back!
