J.Crew Online: Up to 50% Off Select Styles {plus big update to Sale!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know the following.

J.Crew is offering up to 50% off select styles for Women, Men, and Crewcuts. No promotional code is needed as prices are automatically adjusted. The fine print includes:
*Prices as marked reflect discount. Valid on purchases of Instant Gratification Sale styles at jcrew.com from July 20, 2013, 12:01am ET through July 23, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Not valid in J.Crew or J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash. Not valid on Collection styles, Ludlow styles or third-party branded merchandise. Select styles and colors are final sale. Terms of offer are subject to change.
I am surprised to see this kind of promotion back at J.Crew. We normally do not get to see to many offers for full priced merchandise. (Well recently we have seen a bit more, but not normally.)

J.Crew has a nice update to their Summer FINAL Sale (click here to shop online) section online this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1380+ for Women and 465+ for Men). Yey! Although merchandise is not clearing out like it should... Makes me wonder if J.Crew will offer another additional percent off sale soon.

Will you be taking advantage of this latest promotion? What are your thoughts on this sale? What do you think J.Crew should do to move out their Summer items?

  1. I didn't really see anything this morning. I'm going to wait for the rollout next week. I like that outfit in the picture above, though!

  2. The navy wool schoolboy is one of the 50% off items, for a sale price of $99. That's a pretty good price for a classic that doesn't go on sale often.

    1. I'm guessing it's because they're putting out a new/longer version of the Schoolboy. I don't think they'll ever have trouble selling the older version, though, it is very classic I agree, and a good price.

    2. Thanks for posting this! When I read it I immediately went over to the site to purchase it! I've been waiting for the Schoolboy in Navy to go down to a price I can stomach. I'm so excited I finally got one! :)

    3. Me too- great price, thanks for the tip! Only bone left to pick is shipping cost. I know, I should be happy to be saving $100 but...!

    4. I totally agree. The shipping is crazy expensive, JC needs to take a page out of Madwell's book 4.95 shipping or ..... Possibly free shipping with some of these good promos. Just saying :)

    5. Head to the store! Just went and they said they are sending Navy schoolboys back tomorrow. They honored the online price and gave me my 15% student discount! A great deal!

    6. I actually bought a ton of stuff during their $5 shipping promotion. Maybe it's a psychological thing but I was much more willing to buy more when it was $5. I'll never understand why their shipping costs are so much.

    7. I just ordered the navy Schoolboy in Petite. I have been wanting this jacket, and waiting for a reasonable price...today was the day! It will be great for fall.

    1. Birdie - That's a good deal! I just got the sizing info.

    2. Thanks Gigi, your blog has helped me determine my size on a number of occasions.

  5. Just placed an order for the faded chambray popover and a pair of the distressed Cone toothpick jeans. Can't fathom wearing either in the present temperatures, but couldn't resist the prices!

  6. OT-does anyone know how the small trades tees run at Madewell? I'm a size 10, and can't decide whether to order a 2 or 3. Thanks much!

Shocked at the great deals in this promo...

  7. Totally OT -- Ruelala is offering a $50 J Crew gift card as one of the options for the Rue 365. The Rue 365 costs $100 and gives you free shipping for 1 year and two $50 gift cards for retailers of your choice.

  8. For anyone thinking about the keeper chambray shirt or the faded chambray popover, see review HERE. The selvedge chambray shirt is reviewed HERE and I reviewed the 1035 trouser in superfine cotton HERE.

I'll try to put up as many reviews of the items on IG sale as I can over the next day or two.

  9. I wanted to order the espadrilles but they don' have my size. Will they look for them in store for you?

    1. Call CS and asked them to do a search for you and ask about the store price vs. online. Be careful bec. they may ship to you as final sale. You might want to email and request a VPS to check for you.

  10. Will they honor the online sale price. I dont have a b7m so I have no idea how much the chambray ones are.

  11. Hi...Just received the liberty seead peter-pan collared short sleeved shirt. While the print is pretty, the cotton is so thin. For the price I would hope for better. So the price is so high because of the liberty print ? Its going back because I can't imagine it lasting very long. Am I wrong ? thanks Carolyn from Vancouver p.s I did order the matchstick demin jeans today...never have seen them for $57 yay.

    3. Yes, thanks so much for taking the time to upload those pictures Rose. I'm definitely looking forward to receiving this catalog in the mail!

I completely bit on this promo. Unlike the other promos of late, this one included enough things that I wanted to try that I reached the free shipping threshold and nothing is final sale, yay! Like others, I couldn't resist the navy Schoolboy. I'm also trying the faded chambray popover (I have the Factory version and wear it so much that I was actually waiting for the price to drop/additional discount to get a back-up from Factory, so I was very happy to see the retail price.), the dobby stripe popover (it doesn't look like much online, but I saw it in store and the fabric was really nice), and a merino boyfriend sweater (I've been curious about the fit).

  13. I just bought a couple of items for my kids.
It's tempting to buy a couple more Tippis, but am going to wait for the new season stuff!

  14. Has anyone tried the Cafe Trousers in cotton (item # 95852)? I'd like to try them but am unsure of sizing. I'm a 6 in Cafe Capris, but an 8 in other J. Crew pants. Do you know how these fit or what size would be right? Thanks!

  15. I bit on the Oxford Boy Shirt in polka dot and a black Perfect-Fit Mixed Tape Cardigan. The black one never goes on sale and I love to wear these with the Pixie Pant (patiently waiting for a sale on those) and riding boots or booties in the fall. Speaking of Fall....please get here soon! I am so ready!

  16. Crewmum shared that the crystal compilation bracelet is now $39.99 in-store. Review at the bottom of this post.

  17. I grabbed the schoolboy blazer in navy and the mixed tape cardigan in black. I was also in the J. Crew at SF Centre this morning and while they've reduced their sales section a bit, it is still pretty sizable. What caught my eye (and unfortunately my wallet):

--The dotted linen blazer (46072)in navy is now 79.99 before the addt'l 40% off.
--The pleated chiffon top in pale citrus (43404) is now 39.99 before the addt'l 40% off.

  18. I found the Navy Cashmere Boyfriend sweater for $47 after the discount and the Seville Espadrille Wedges for $30. I got the pink and navy patent belts for $5.99 after discount.

  19. I can't reply but thanks for pointing out that the navy schoolboy was half off. The price didn't fit into the clothing budget for the rest of the year but now it does.

  20. OMG, help me! Here I am diligently working on a post with 14 of the things included in the IG sale and it looks like they've added a bunch more items. I may never finish my post ...

  21. I must be the only one, as it is available in all sizes and colors, but I really want the pleated silk dress - even with that dang pocket! Problem is ... I am 8 months pregnant and cannot tell if it is TTS. Anyone know?

At least if I order it now I will have until 9/23 to return it. But $125 is still a bit too high for my taste. I expect it will be final sale soon since no one seems to want it, blog about it, or review it.

    1. Flower Power - I would try it on if I saw it, but the silk pocket dress is online only. That's a good reason why there aren't any reviews. I sent an email to you.

  22. Great deals on the basics in this promo- that's why I ordered three pairs of boyfriend shorts (love the fit and length), midrise toothpick jeans in white and dark washes (also love the fit on these), dobby popover top, peplum top in coral and two pairs tall café capris. Thank you, J.Crew!

  23. I wasn't planning on buying a lot since I spent so much the past few weeks, but I had to order the schoolboy blazer at that price. Dang it, too bad my rewards aren't here yet, that would've been fantastic!
