Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time!

A ginormous "thanks!" to Ann who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code IDJ-899. Also, "thanks!" to Rebecca who let us know that this code expires on 9/5/09. :)

P.S. I have noticed that other websites & blogs post J.Crew codes & coupons *after* this blog does. If you happen to get codes & coupons from the JCA blog & post them at your site, could you please give give a "shout out" to the JCA blog? This way more JCAs are inclined to share. TIA! :)

  10. Code didn't work for me? I had more than $150 in my cart, not sure why.

  11. cortney_joy: I tested the code and it worked earlier. I *really* hope this isn't a "one-time only" code. :)

Although it sounds like Sweet Tea in Seattle, & possibly j.a.c. were able to use it.

Everyone: If you used this code successfully, do you mind letting us know? Thanks in advance! :)

  12. I'm glad there's a code, just in case! Actually, I just got my order with the last of my gotta list. I wrote earlier about the crewcuts bikini incident, but most of the rest of the stuff I got was good! I ordered last winter's cashmere professor cardi in tea rose and love It! The cashmere is dense and soft, the color is so pretty and cheerful, and the sleeves seem more bracelet length than 3/4. And the self fabric elbow patches are a cute touch! I don't usually wear beaded or graphic tees, but I succumbed to the brass band tee. It's great, the ringspun seems thicker than last year. Alright, I really had to have it when I saw the line "laissez le bon temps rouler." Let the good times roll! And Bon Temps is the town in True Blood, which I'm crazy about. I also ordered the taffeta flower headband which is cute but overly frayed. Why did I order such a thing? GG/ Blair Waldorf infuence, no doubt.
One thing I DIDN'T buy because of tv was the flutter scoopneck dress in plum raisin. Gorgeous color! I wanted to try it for fit, and it is TTS, much more so than some of the tents from this summer. The basic shape is similar to the Sara, but more refined. The empire waist is inset and about an inch thick. Instead of all around fullness, there are gathers in the middle of the front and back at the waist, while the sides skim the hips. The sleeve and hem lengths are similar, but the fabric is a bit thicker and has a nicer drape. The main difference that I was hoping for was a higher neckline than the Sara, and I happily got it! The top is definitely formfitting, and there is a mild scoop, but it contained all but the top centimeter of my cleavage. The ruffled layers are fun/ funky. Fun since they're not shirred all the way around, just at intervals, so there is more texture than fullness. The layers are both jersey and voile, and unfortunately on the dress I got, the voile layers looked ROUGH. Kinda funky dangling bits aplenty. This one is going back, but I'll probably reconsider when it's in the thirty dollar range.
    Sorry for the long post!

  14. Drat,

    I waited for the code & now the Isabel dress is sold out in my size :{

Oh well, helps me save for fall.
Many thanks to Ann & Alexis for the code tho'

I may give into temptation on the Linen sweater jacket discussed earlier. Oh, & has anyone tried the tiny buds blouse? Is it TTS, & the fabric, is it sheer?

    TIA,

    Heather:D

  15. I wish that Jcrew would drop the price on the chiffon beaded glisse cami. It's been $119 forever! Even with a coupon, I have a hard time justifying spending that amount on something like that. Does anyone own it?

  16. ooh, thanks for the code!! I was going to order something this morning but did not have a code so I didn't. I checked back and lo and behold, there is a code! I justordered the evening primrose silk tank and the dream funnel neck sweater in pebble using my Fall Rewards....The code worked fine for me.

  17. Genny, I used my BR postcard w/25% off and an extra 5% after 5:00. Picked up some wonderful skinny jeans black and denim - J.Crew pants do not fit me (I'm 5'11"). On top of the discounts they were serving h'orderves and drinks. I had two great JA's waiting on me, they both remembered my name. Seems the word has gone out at BR that customer service is essential in these trying retail times. I was very encouraged by the quality of merch - BR has been lacking in style lately, though not in quality IMO. I do love the styling of J.Crew and particularly enjoy the catalogue. But IRL the styling is hard to carry off, particularly for the over 35 set.

  18. Tried it again later and it worked. Order success! Can't wait.

  19. I went to the BR 25% off event here in Canada today. I tried a pencil skirt and although I'm 4/6 in J.Crew, I needed an 8 in the high-waisted wool pencil @ BR. My size hasn't changed and I purchased a linen skirt at BR earlier this summer in size 4 and I just wore it last week. So, J.Crew is not the only one with sizing all over the map.

Funny thing happened at the BR store though. I wore my J.Crew denim safari jacket, which I got managed to get via "Find It" service. The electronic tag was in place and I forgot to cut it out. When I walked into BR I set off the sensors. An SA nearby glanced over and asked me where I got that "fabulous jacket?". I told her it was J.Crew, which she didn't seem to recognize but we're in Canada so not everyone knows the brand. I went into the fitting room and the staff there said she really liked my jacket. When leaving I again set off the sensor and the gal that came over complimented my "stylish" jacket too.

I looked through all of BR and the pencil skirt was the only thing of interest and even in size 8 it did not fit me properly. I left empty handed, save for several compliments on my J.crew denim jacket. :)

  21. does anyone have the Premium Stretch Bistro pant and knows if it shrinks when machine washed & dried? Not sure if i should size up or not. TIA!

  22. Hi Emily, I bought the Glisse cami but returned it. I can't justify paying $120 + taxes for it either! It's gorgeous but the price tag is killing me! Let's hope they will lower the price sooner!

I placed an order earlier today before knowing about the free shipping code info. The SA was able to waive the shipping for me. :)

  23. XOXO - I'm in Canada too and the security sensor thing always happens to me as well! haha...I almost think that going through the sensor the first time resets the little tag because you'd think the warehouse at JCrew would de-activate them when shipping them out. This in particular has happened at Zara and Abercrombie. (Thank goodness it's not Aritzia or something, where they always have menacing security guards. I've seen them actually search a customer when they set it off.)

  24. Jodi,
Glad you had a good BR experience. I was in JCrew (did not buy) and walked over to BR a week and a half ago and bought several cute sale items. The sweater I bought was very stylish IMO with cute accents/detail. So the style was there for me:) as well as price. My hubby bought three things in the mens sale section as well. The sweater he bought fit him like a dream!

  25. Connie, that is so funny and true about the menacing security guards at Aritzia. I am creeped out every time I go through the doors there because they smile at me, but still look mean if that makes sense.

I would have thought the store would deactivate the tag before putting it in the box for shipping but they must have missed that step. Not a big deal, I cut it out as soon as I got home. Really love that jacket.

  30. mk- I have the stretch bistro pants- IMO, they are TTS and didn't stretch out much (or shrink) with wear or wash. I only put them in the dryer for about 5min; If you dryed them on high or completely though, I think theyd shrink

  31. Thanks Kendra! I will def. keep the pair I bought then!

  32. Thank you Ann and Alexis for the code. I used it to try on a few schoolboy blazers and the dream cadet sweater. Hopefully something will work, but with free shipping, it won't be such a bummer when they don't.
