Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time!

A super big "thanks!' to E (in this post) & Marietta who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code TA-940. Not clear when this offer expires. :)

Also, a super big "thanks!' to Marietta (in this post) who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $175+ with promo code BEACH. (She was also nice to share the email, the image shown on the left, containing the offer.) This offer expires 6/24/09. :)

  1. Hi. My order is $168 and some change, but TA-940 isn't working for it. Anyone know why?

  2. Himmiefan: That is weird. I tried a mock trial (with a regular priced item at $158) before I posted the code and again right now. Both times it worked for me. Not sure why it's not working for you. :(

Maybe you can give them a call to place the order and apply the code. :)

  3. I just placed an order and it worked for me.

Just a note, try again. The first time I typed it in I transposed the 4 and the 9. Usually I copy and past the code.

  4. Hi Alexis. Everybody here probably knows this except me. I called J. Crew, and it turns out that the subtotal (price before taxes and shipping) must be $150 (or whatever) or over. Mine was after taxes, etc. So, no code for me! :(

  5. IRL: LOL! I have mistyped the code many times as well. I usually copy and paste now too. :)

HimmieFan: Sorry to hear you won't be getting your items. But, happy to hear we found out what the issue was and that the code does work. :)

Maybe J.Crew will offer a free shipping over $100+ code soon too. :)

  6. Oh no! I got the dreaded "Forbidden" and can't access jcrew.com! I remember others posting about this before, is there any solution?

    Thanks!

  7. himmiefan - you can always add an add-on to your order and return it later...I won't lie, I've done it before! (lol and half the time end up keeping the extra item)

  8. I'm resisting, I will not give in to the dark side.

With the new arrivals looking somewhat fall like I'll hold off for a while and enjoy the summer things I have.

  9. cortney_joy: I'm getting it too...is this something widespread now. Anyone else seeing this?

  11. I got the forbidden message a couple months ago after clicking too quickly through the online catalog. Rebooting the router didn't work for me either, I just had to wait it out. Your IP address is temporarily banned from the website.

I got around it by remote accessing my office computer and ordering from there, so I wouldn't miss the early morning udpates!

  12. My PS told me that the retail stores will be shipping out their "sale" sections to prep for pre-fall and fall roll-outs. So there should be some significant sale updates online in the next couple weeks.

Made me wonder if we might see a TURKEY or HOHOHO in July, as an incentive to clear out the summer inventory just when JCrew knows we are drooling for fall?

  13. I know this question might had been asked many times, but I can't seem find the answer. Can anyone tell me the most efficient way to contact Mickey Drexler? His email? If so, may I know the email address? Many thanks.

  14. OT - if anyone here is a Kate Spade fan - today is the last day of the online sample sale with xtra 30% off. Some pretty decent deals if you are interested in what is available.

  15. OK, news on the "forbidden" message which I received yesterday morning.

Basically, it SUCKS. Your IP address is banned for whatever reason. In my case, I can access the website for about 5 minutes, and then I get "forbidden". 6 hours later, I am cleared to shop away, but again - after 5 minutes "forbidden". So if I get my shopping done within 5 minutes, then good. If I can't - then boo!

Call to complain. I spoke with customer service yesterday who was so willing to help, but said that it's a huge issue and there are loads of people who can't order. However, they feel like they don't know about a lot of them because some people just give up.

Either way, - CALL! They'll tell you to disconnect your router, but that didn't work for me. Good luck! They said they're trying to work on something for early next week. We shall see!

  16. What do people think of the new jewelry with its brass plating? I've been itching to purchase the libretto necklace but am hesitating because of the brass-I wish it were silver or a similar metal.

  17. Ava - I have purchased Sorelli jewelry for years. They use a brass versus a silver or gold. It actually ages better and looks "richer" with the jewelry. Having seen the liberetto in person, I say, "go for it." It is very, very pretty. Will be able to be dressed up or down and the piece I saw appeared to be much better made than the spring jewelry lines pieces. It is on my list as well.

  18. Personally, depending on the size of the piece brass is HEAVY and I avoid it. If you don't mind weight, go for it.

  19. Brass jewelry can really have a hippie vibe to it. Fine if you're rocking the boho look, but not my choice for dressier jewelry.

  20. FYI: If anyone is looking for the pearl garden bracelet in the clementine it's $39.99 in the store. I bought one on Friday at the Michigan Avenue Chicago Store.

I also bought the last pearl cluster ring for $29.99 if anyone is interested in that one maybe they have some at a store by you.

They are still regular price online.

  21. Gap has an online coupon code SALE20 - gives an extra 20% off sale items.

  22. My SA told me early fall - darker colors but still light weight fabrics - would be in stores after July 14.

  23. @ Ava: I purchased the crystal libretto recently. I think JC used brass to keep the vintage/estate vibe to it. When you see it IRL, it's gorgeous, much better than online. I think gold/gold-plated brass would have looked a teeny bit outre. It does not have a boho vibe to it at all. It's chic and you can dress this up or down and adjust the length easily. HTH.

  24. Thanks everyone for your input regarding brass jewelry. It was very helpful :) I think I will order the necklace after all, at the least to see in person.

Btw, I just noticed that the ringspun rosette tees are available on the website (in white and pewter) for $49.50, but is not listed under new arrivals.
