Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Visited on Saturday. Sale section was only 50% off. I was tempted to try the high waisted satin cigarette pant but the price is still pretty high. Has anyone tried these? I have a full length satin blazer from way back and not that I have a need but it would make a nice outfit for anything fancy.

Was looking up old curator pants. Buyer beware. Found a pair labeled curator on eBay but they’re actually easy pants. Big difference in fit and style. Unfortunately It seems as though searching style numbers doesn’t always work anymore. I know because when I list on Poshmark I search styles and include the description. I’ve ended up with broken links or “not found” on the site. Also I’ve noticed that my order history only goes back a few pages...but then again this could also be a safari issue since the website doesn’t function properly for me.

Wishing everyone a restful day if you’re home.

  2. No visit for me but I do need to go for returns, we'll see if I get there on my day off today. A few of my sale items arrived on Friday - 10" button fly toothpicks in sound blue wash, paperbag slim wide leg jean and crewneck gathered sweater in supersoft yarn in black. I have the sweater in green too - should have just gone with black, took the smaller of my two sweater sizes. It's a bit cropped and has balloon sleeves and is super soft. The toothpick jeans are a nice dark wash - stretchy and seem to run a little large, my regular size 29 is a little big in the waist. I would have preferred copper colored buttons vs silver and the buttons seem to be spaced weird, I may be a little critical but for some reason they look odd to me. I put them on to wear them yesterday and I think I'm returning - they really are spaced weird and creates an odd gap between the buttons. Length is a bit longer than most which I like but if I know I won't reach for them they need to go back.

The paperbag waist jeans in my regular 29 were too small, I couldn't even get them over my hips. I might try a size up,possibly two - they're lightweight with hardly any stretch(material says 99% cotton 1% elastane). There are no reviews so it was hard to figure out what to do.

    1. I totally know what you mean about buttons. I have all sorts of issues with the zipper or crotch area on jeans.

I hadn’t really noticed the paper bag waist jeans, but they don’t even look like a paper bag waist. It just looks like there’s a denim tie waist. How is it a paper bag waist?

    2. Suz, you're right, they're just tie waist jeans. Not a paper bag waist at all. I thought they'd be a nice skinny jean alternative for work. I have yet to find a cropped wide leg pair that I really like and feel comfortable in. I'll report back if I try another size.

  3. I had asked about the high waisted satin cigarette pants and realized they were not final sale. Reviews mostly said they ran small but I sometimes size down in a higher rise so I was going to order three sizes. Oddly the smallest size was final sale, so I removed that one. If the sizes I got are too big I can always try again.
