Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. No visit for me. I've been only "meh" with the new arrivals. I keep looking but nothing's making me want to order.

  2. I ordered a final sale hoodie in my usual S, but the sleeves were ridiculously short. Still liked it a lot (velour texture inside is cozy). I hoped I could get a size larger for extra length even if I had to keep the first one - I can give it to someone shorter. The first CS rep said I could reorder but not match the sale price I paid ($13). I said no thanks, and called again this morning. The CS rep said sure, sent me a return label and matched the price. Very nice. Don't get too frustrated with on CS refusal, it's worth just calling again later and speaking to someone else. Of course the new one will be too large in the body, but that is ok for me in a hoodie. And it is super comfortable. Will be an 'around the house' garment for me.

    1. I wonder if they put something in the order notes like... deny on first request. And if you try again you’re rewarded for tenacity. Otherwise I don’t get why they’d put us through a rigmarole for a simple size exchange. Are they trying to train us to stop thinking they have good CS?

    2. More likely that the CS reps get to decide, and some are nicer than others.

  3. Shipping is taking too long! I ordered a coat last week on Saturday. It finally shipped but I guess it’s taking the pony express because it won’t be here until next Tuesday.

    1. Probably one of those ups-to-usps transfers, that adds a day or two. Though I often get packages earlier than predicted as a bonus for living near shipping hubs.

Guessing this is the XS car coat?

Speaking of coats, I get attention everywhere when I wear the red Chateau puffer. Even walking in the woods!

    2. I just tracked it. First it said Saturday, then it said next Tuesday. Honestly by the time I get it I won’t be interested anymore.

OTOH I ordered each color of the Everlane editor boots. I thought I hated them but something about them is drawing me in.

    3. I saw them on your Insta. The kitten heel has a feminine+tough look you do not get in a flat or block heeled bootie. But the low heel works very differently than stiletto booties, in a good way.

    4. Yup, I’m not buying heels I can’t walk comfortably in anymore, it’s not worth it. I have several higher heels I can wear to events and be fine, but stilettos are out. Not that it matters but my husband is about 3” taller than I am so I don’t need to be much taller. I like the way heels make my legs look in certain outfits but being able to walk is more important.

    5. I’ve noticed Anine Bing has similar and she herself wears them with light colored tapered jeans and leather pants. She nails the tough chic aesthetic I’m drawn to. I wouldn’t wear everything she shows but I follow for inspiration.

    1. True, but they did add new items to sale, and drop prices on others.

    2. For the first time (that I’ve noticed) the frankie pant in black twill is under 50. The length is kind of iffy, so I’m not biting yet. They really only work with flats, and tall sizes are more $.

  5. Very far and few and still not the pair holiday sale
I am looking for.... have my eye on few sweaters.... but not willing to pay Theese prices

I did get the double breasted boiled wool coat. Still thinking about since it’s been so warm.... will try it more this weekend and post a review.

    2. Hmmn, I may be going to do a return Sunday afternoon, so I'll take a look.

  7. I stopped in tonight to do some returns and all sale was 60% off. They need to do the same online and clean it out, none of this "up to 75% off" nonsense with 30% off sale. My store was pretty packed, I did buy the camel cashmere tunic with the wider rib cuffs/neck but nothing else was calling my name. I had tried the Peyton suit pants in four season stretch but returned them - the rise was a bit too much for me. I needed the tall for length but I think it made the rise a bit too much. Those and the Edie pants in 4 season stretch are a good deal at $49 promo with an additional 30% off.

I have been looking for a black slim ankle pant - my go to used to be the BR Sloan but I would like a slightly higher rise and when I tried them recently again (needed a new size) they seem different than they used to be. Although they seem to have a few different styles so maybe I tried the wrong one. I tried the Cameron tonight at J.Crew, wasn't a fan of the material or the back seam and the new side zip Remi pant just felt like I was all belly and the leg was a little wider than I wanted.
Just not a night to try pants on :)

On that topic though (if you're still reading this super long post), does anyone have any suggestions for a mid to high rise zip fly slim leg ankle pant? Would prefer belt loops but not necessary. With our new relaxed dress code at work I'm wearing more jeans but would like a less formal black pant here and there when I don't want to wear jeans.

    1. You know what my answer is going to be,..I love my Everlane wide leg crops and they now have a straight and a slim leg version. It’s worth trying a few styles/sizes.

    2. I love Ann Taylor pants. Their ankle pants are my favorite but there are lots of different styles. Ann Taylor usually has good sales too.

    3. Have you tried Maddie pants in the past? They’re my go-to work pants in black and navy. You might be able to find them on Poshmark.

    4. Thanks for the suggestions! I reordered the BR sloans - went with the modern fit this time wondering if the original rise just isn't working for me anymore.

Suz - I looked at the Everlane pants, the slim only come in a washed black which isn't quite what I'm looking for but I may give the straight ones a try since they have such great reviews. I also may need to try those Editor boots :D

Dana - thanks for the reminder about AT! I don't have a local store anymore so I forget to check there but I do have the shoprunner service so might be worth trying a few things.

shopgrrrl, I don't think I tried the Maddies, I'll have to poke around on Poshmark. thanks for the suggestion.

    5. I should add that I’m referring to the Maddies in stretch cotton, which are similar to my Sloans. I’ve never tried the wool version of either.

    6. Suz, will do on the pants and boots! I was too late on the Editor boot, they're sold out in my 1/2 size up. I might try my regular size and hope for them to restock the 10.

  8. I like that sweater a lot, it would match my cashmere joggers that I bought few weeks ago. It’s was still pricy when I saw it before. I like the thicker cashmere on it. Enjoy it....

  9. Have you tried the high rise Cameron? Not a fan of highest myself but I just got a pair in green and they fit great!

    1. Kate thanks for the suggestion! I only tried the regular ones in the store since they didn't have my size in the high rise. I will have to try them out.

  10. Glad my dark curry car coat came today. The XS is plenty oversized so I’d say if In doubt don’t trust the true fit suggestion because sizing just isn’t really consistent.
I already have a DM in to see that they will match the price I paid for the S.

  11. Following up. Made my return of the too large car coat and no surprise, the sales associate in store couldn’t help with the price matching. He said to contact online CS.

Store notes: sales section was fairly full. I was tempted to try on the cashmere joggers but wasn’t sure what the price would end up so I didn’t bother. However the cashmere was really thick, thicker than the red cashmere hoodie hanging above it. There were other cashmere pieces that looked a little pilled already but these did not.

I noticed a pair of ivory kitten heel booties. I wanted to compare them to the Everlane ones on Salem the fit was bizarre. They were loose in my usual 8.5 and even In the 8. The leather wasn’t as nice as the Everlane but for a cheap thrill they’d be fine.

There was a whole row of sale shoes in the shoe section, (in addition to shoes in the sale section) mostly Ryan penny loafers in various colors, plus several colors in the smoking slippers.

As I was leaving I noticed the red barn jacket. Another poster commented that it looked really waxy, which it does. I tried on the size Small and it fit comfortably over a thick sweater, so I’d try the XS as well. It is fairly boxy. I tightened the waist snaps. I actually really liked the color red and will try it again closer to spring.

    3. They were marked I think 182.99. Something like that. I couldn’t tell about sizing. Maybe I’ll go on Monday and see. The small looked really big and the XS looked tiny. I’m wearing my cotton wool ones now and they’re so comfortable

  12. Thanks to those that posted about the 60% off sale in stores. Even my small store had a full sale section. Not a whole lot I wanted, but I did get a few t-shirts for $4 and a blouse for $16 that will be great for work. They had some nice coats left, but unfortunately not in my size. Still it was fun to look.

  13. Reporting back on the Double-breasted trench coat in Italian boiled wool, Item AE297, going to return it. It fits TTS, length is generous on me. (5.3, 115)... I bought size 2. Good fabric and color is green/gray. I think because this winter is so warm I don’t have the use for it. So will bring back tomorrow. I am keeping the navy daphne coat... been using it a lot since it been warmer....

  14. Does anyone have the Ruffle-trim V-neck blouse in allover heart print? Mine just arrived and the print is upside-down (the point of the hearts is towards the top). Is this a mistake or is it random directions? I don’t think I’ll have time to exchange before Valentine’s Day but am not sure I’d bother if there’s a chance at the same result. Would it bother other people? The hearts look like hearts when I look down at myself but I don’t want others to look at me and be like- that girl’s shirt is wrong.
