  3. New sale items. Question is do I wait till the weekend for an additional % off? The shirt I want just went half off!!

    1. I would just buy the shirt now. Usually when there is no % off on line the items get marked down more than they normally would. My guess is if they bring a % off back on line the sale price of the items will go up so the net price would be about the same anyway. Not sure how this works in store.

    1. Hideous ruffles and zipper sleeves? Just no!!!!!!

    2. Will soon be on its way out via deep discount just like Somsack.

    3. That's truly awful. Don't understand how anyone thought this sweater was a good idea.

    4. Yikes.

Is there a link for more early access looks?

    5. Is she on her way to a Dynasty re-boot casting call?

    6. I saw that sweater in gray at the concept store and posted a pic along with some others on my IG @myclosetandmycats. Some people did like the sweater. I think there are worse offenders this season, like the one with the metallic lame ruffles.

    7. Just looked at an email from Gap. They have a similar, equally ugly ruffled v sweater along with a denim mechanic jumpsuit and a hairy/furry sweater shell. Oh boy!

    8. And I thought they were over the whole zipper thing from a few years ago.

    9. How strange, I just got an email from a small, local boutique featuring the same sweater from a line I've never heard of: Denim Hunter! (Sorry I don't know how to do links the fancy way.)

    10. I had a sweater just like that in middle school. Not a good look on me then, either.

    11. Srsly, what is a Tippi? Because apparently it's not:
a particular clothing item (pullover vs. cardigan)
a material (merino vs. cashmere vs. cotton vs. linen vs.)
      a neckline (crew vs. turtleneck)
a sleeve length (3/4s vs. "bracelet" vs. long)
      a fit (lol consistency)

Is the idea that a sort of imagined J.C customer, Tippi, would favor all these pieces over the years? But then how are you calling this a "customer favorite since 2011"????

    1. There are also two velvet collection dresses that come up if you search "velvet dress." I like the wrap one a lot but the midi one looks like something from J.Jill.

  6. I'm not loving j crew at the moment. My sequin hearts t shirt developed 5 tiny holes in it after 3 wears and 0 washes. I might be done with jcrew t shirts now.

  7. Just saw on Refinery that Somsack has left J. Crew. Don't know what to make of that. http://www.refinery29.com/2017/09/171246/j-crew-new-designer-resigns-brand-future

    1. Thanks for the link, Mary G. Other JCAs shared their thoughts about this news on a different thread, in case you haven't/want to see. It's on the Vent thread. I realize the news about Somsack shouldn't be all that shocking, I guess, but I was still pretty shocked. He just took over Jenna's position in March of this year! Maybe he took a look around and saw the writing on the wall. Sad thought, all the same. I hate to think of what this means for the company, in general.

    3. Thanks, TM93. I had missed the news and will enjoy seeing comments in vent thread. I still love the JCA community, but there's so little positive stuff to talk about that I don't check in like I used to. Oh for 2008, when there were lots of lovely things to discuss. I was reading JCA several times a day.

    4. I read that Somsack is not being replaced, his roles will be absorbed by others. So perhaps this is another cost saving measure, plus it doesn't seem that his designs had the success they hoped after he moved over to Jcrew. An article mentioned new hires under CEO James Brett.

    5. More bad news; this time for Gap and BR

    6. @jcrewguy I saw that yesterday, it's a lot of stores! But I think they've cannibalized their own market with Old Navy, just too much overlap. My local Gap store hasn't run a %off clearance in a long time, yet theyve done 50% off the entire store (excluding clearance) several times in the past 6 months, I don't get it.

  8. Is there a preview link? I got one last month but wonder if I accidentally deleted one in email? I see there are some things that come up by search such as tweed like these Audrey tweed flats number G8229. Wish they didn't put the plastic embellishment on the toe, the tweed is cuter without it IMO.

    1. I'm seeing several new items searching by plaid, velvet, houndstooth, tweed, etc.

    2. @Elizabeth, I believe this is only a mini-rollout so there might not be a 'sneak peek', preview-type of email for those types of rollouts. I think Ina said on another thread that some new items would be in store this week (or next.)

    3. It is actually the big oktober rollout next week.

    4. I was able to see a bunch of items searching generic terms (sweater, coat, etc.) like Elizabeth mentioned.

    5. I saw a preview of the rollout and it is lots of leopard and some cute boots. There is also a silver sequin skirt,a leopard coat and some plaid.

    6. dark green sequin midi skirt - mmmm

    7. I bought the rose gold one for my high school reunion. It's fun.

  9. Thoughts on the faux leopard coat - item G9553? I'm really drawn to it, but it's not traditionally "me". Although, I do already have the jeans and sneaks the model is wearing, so maybe it is me, lol.

    1. I've been on a hunt for leopard coat. I hope they made it also in petite because it looks bulky especially around the collar. Wish the fake fur was flatter and collarless.

    2. Thanks for your thoughts, ladies! JSR, I hope that there will be a petite option as well. I am right on the cusp of petite/regular, and you're right, it could be overwhelming on a smaller/shorter frame.

  10. Why o why are all the things in my cart all of a sudden "excluded from all promos" seriously! Big eye roll!

  11. my screen isn't showing a promo - does this mean there will be one?

  12. Just posted photos of two new arrival loves on my Instagram - green sequin skirt and the calf hair boots @jcrewmycrew

  13. The collection velvet wrap dress is amazing. BUT...it's so hard to know what size to get. I just can't seem to get it right with J.Crew anymore. Why don't they at least list the height of the model and what size she is wearing so that you can get a sense of how it will fit?
