Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. Yeah, this header is one of my favorites so far. Nice!

I won't be going this weekend. We've swung back into some hot and muggy days so I'm not in the mood to look at fall clothes.

  3. I really like the new header too, Alexis! :)

I will not be going this weekend, although I do plan to stop in one day next week. Hopefully they will have gotten more of the new arrivals in at that point.

  4. I won't be going this week. I do have a question- does anyone have pictures of the factory french hen sweater and/or cardigan? There aren't any factory stores near me, and these things aren't online. TIA!

    1. I don't have an actual picture but I bought one and to me it looked nearly identical to last year's retail version. Also, it comes in two colors -- I got Navy. Blogged about it: http://what-i-bought-today-tc.blogspot.com/2013/07/a-pink-bag-and-faux-french-hen.html

    2. I bought the French hen sweater in the light blue color and the French hen cardi in navy. Like TC said above, the French hen sweater is identical to the retail version from last year and I would say fits TTS. The light blue color is almost identical to the color of the hen on the acorn colored sweater from last year. The cardi is navy with the small French hens scattered all over it like the retail blouse from last year. I would say that the cardi fits TTS to slightly small, but only because of the arms (and I have fairly small arms). The only complaint I have about the cardi is that where the sleeve openings are if the sweater expands at all, instead of the same navy color, the color didn't saturate well enough, so you can see white in between the ribbing. I hope this helps!

  5. I'm going tomorrow. And, I must say I am so excited. (This momma has not been out the house alone like all summer.) I will take notes and report back. I love J. Crew fall so much more than summer. I really want to try on the new chino styles. I'm loving the army green.

  8. I (hope) to head to the mountains and pop in the Arden Clearance Center. Always a mystery as to what will be found.

  9. FYI, the Castle Rock Factory store got their herringbone vests 2 days ago, so they should be fully stocked for now, if you want to do a charge/send. They took my rewards card over the phone + 25% off, so I picked up the navy color way too.

  10. Some intel from the mich ave store (Chicago). Bounce back cards are stackable on current knit promo. So is student discount. There is a jewel striped tee that is new. Marked $75 - rang up as $65 pre-discount that is adorable. Add my love for the Andies. They are awesome.

    1. Also - I mentioned I was looking for a dress and the awesome SA handed me another bounce back card for later. Very appreciative.

    2. I'm intrigued! Jewel striped tee? Tell us more! Is it a striped tee bedazzled with gems? Definitely missed it yesterday when I was there.

    3. Hi shopalot! Manager said the tees just went out today. Navy stripe, exposed back zip, long sleeve (I think maybe 3/4), with crystals at the neck. Nice weight cotton. Kind of looks like you are wearing the crystal compilation necklace. I preferred this to the jeweled sweatshirt in the end.

    4. Sounds adorable! I hope Oakbrook has it because I won't be in the city again until Monday. Thanks so much for describing it.

    5. rcb.shops - Do you have the style # for the jeweled stripe tee?

    6. I have a photo of the tee on my instagram http://statigr.am/viewer.php#/detail/519717335618207693_461012222

  11. Did visit Park Meadows B&M today. I wanted to look at the Rhinestone Ruffled Top but they did not have it. I did see a navy/white striped down vest (Excursion??) $138. All knits were on sale, so I got the Jackie in Landscape Green and Translucent Flower Necklace for $39.99. The lovely SA gave me one of the bounce back cards for an additional 20% off.

  12. A question for all you lovely JCAs :)

    - how do the Kiki ballet flats fit?

    Thanks!!

    1. tiffany rose - I got to try on a 7 and they fit, so I'm thinking the leather ones are TTS. I would order my real world size of 7.5 vs my JC size of 8. In the metallic I would get the 8, though, based on my experience trying them. Click here for review.

    2. TTS. I have wide feet, and the soft leather of the Kiki is much more forgiving than nearly all other JCrew shoes I've tried.

  15. Sorry about that link.

I went to a store to try on the gingham stripe popover. It's on promo for $68 online. Review post here.

  16. I am SO glad I stopped by the store today. I went in planning to try on the Tipped Gamine Dress knowing I'd need a tall version. It's still full price online but it's been marked down to $80 in-store! I tried it on and then a super-sweet SA helped me order the tall version and made sure they honored the in-store price. I was able to apply the 20% off promo too, so it came out to be $50-something with free shipping. And I had a gift card which brought the total down to $2. I'm delighted!!! Much better than the $112 + tax it would have been online.

    1. And just in case anyone from J.Crew corporate is reading this and gnashing their teeth, I was so pleased with the service that I will be going back to make a large purchase in the very near future. The awesome service I received makes me want to go back and buy more!

  17. Has anyone seen the lace-front sweatshirt in stores?

    1. Kelly Ryan - I reviewed the lace sweatshirt in this post. I hope you find or found one. Remember to ask for a stock check if you don't see your size on the floor.

Thanks for the mention, 312JCgirl :) and you are correct it's part of the 30% promo that end today.

  18. The Old Orchard location in Illinois has a bunch in a all colors. I am pretty sure they were a part of the 30% off knits promo. I didn't try it on but it looks like a lovely top. I think GiGi may have reviewed it in her blog. HTH

  21. Has anyone purchased the ratti pineapple mini skirt? If so how is the fit and look? I am 5'10 so I don't want it to be too short or poofy.
It is final sale, so I don't want to take the plunge in purchasing it until there is more of a percent off.

  22. meggs - audreybella did a post on the pineapple mini skirt that includes links to other JCAs and their pineapple skirt that should help.

  23. gigi, Rosie and cate - thanks for the feedback on the Kiki ballet flats! Think I'll be trying my regular size as opposed to my regular JC size. ;)
