30% Off J.Crew Knit, Tees, & Shorts

"Thanks!" to many of you, including GigiOfCa (in this post), as well as Shopping Celle (in this post), who let us know the following.

J.Crew is offering 30% off knit tops. tees, and shorts for Women, Men, and Crewcuts using promo code SHOPNOW. This offer expires August 11, 2013. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on the purchase of full-price knits, tees and shorts in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from August 8, 2013, 12:01am ET through August 11, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in the 769 Madison Avenue store, the Ludlow Shops, the Liquor Store, J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. Offer not valid on any women's pixie pant styles, Garments for Good merchandise, Wallace & Barnes merchandise and third-party branded merchandise. In-store discount automatically applied at register. To redeem online, enter code SHOPNOW in the promo code box at checkout. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change.
Although I appreciate seeing a promotion being offered... I was kind of hoping for another additional percent off sale today instead. Especially since a lot of new items got markdown yesterday.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any Knits & Tees you are interested in getting? If so, please share! :)

At least I know I don't have to bother checking the site until Monday! Between this promo (and the lack of free shipping on a lower amount - I don't want $250 worth of tees and shorts in mid-August) and Final Sale, JC is saving me money this month.

  2. Yep, snooze worthy indeed, I was really hoping for a full price promo or another round of percent off sales items.

  3. I was about to place an order, but the shipping charge is ridiculous. Plus, I'm going to the store on Saturday (YAY!!). Although, I must say I'm more excited to go to Anthro. The August catalogue is fabalicious.

  4. Nay....I'd have to order alot of tees to get free shipping so I'm passing on it. It seems that on promos like this they would offer free or a flat $5.00 shipping like they have in the past.

  5. I was also hoping for a different promo. I don't need shorts in August. I did order a Crewcuts item yesterday with the promo, though, if only to see if I can fit into a size 14.

  6. This is such a lame promo. Does anyone know if there's any percent off sale at Madewell in store right now?

    1. Extra 20% off sale at Madewell on Rush Street in Chicago today. Did not realize it was Final Sale until I looked at my receipt later. Scored the Oaxaca top - it is finally on sale. Love this top!

  7. FriendlyFemme - For possible consideration, I'm wearing a Crewcuts size 14 tees, the sequin pineapple stripe, in this post (scroll down a little past halfway). My post, Would You ? along the sidebar also has me wearing an old girls' tee in the same size. I'm 5'2" ish and approx. 100 lbs.

    1. Thank you! I'm a little worried about the fit because I think I'm a little bustier, but I won't know unless I try.

    2. I'm 5'1" and a little under 100, and I fit into a size 14 really well. I actually just bought the girl's field jacket because it had a hood (which is what kept me from getting the women's version). I also buy boy's shirts in size 14, because I like them to be a little baggy. HTH!

    3. I'm 5'9", 123 lbs (wear a sz. XS or 2 in women's) and can easily fit into the sz. 14 boys, but the sz.14 girls is a bit too tight. Length thru the body has never been a issue either. It also helps to have a fairly flat chest, as kids clothes are cut to accommodate curves.

  8. I have a monkey here all dress up & with cymbals, but he ain't clappin'. I'm surprised they extended this. Just kill price the shorts already The weather is clearly changing across the nation.

    1. Seriously! Shorts should be on super markdown...but I forgot, shorts are acceptable workwear in JC-land year round. ;)

    2. I'm so over summer clothes right now and most of JCs shorts are a big miss for me anyways that even if they offered them at 80% off its a pass. Most shoppers are in full fledged fall mode that even a small promotion would get the sales flowing on their new offerings.

Fall is my absolute favorite season, my brain is turned on to suede, cashmere, boots and sweaters, not tees and shorts.

    3. Gigi, thank you for the laugh, I love your comment!

  9. It's still too hot to shop for fall items and I am done with summer styles shopping.

  10. Thanks for the mention Alexis. This was so not the promotion we all had hoped for so I'm staying away except some returns I need to make. Other stores are marking summer clothes way down. As an example Ann Taylor Loft had an additional 60% off markdowns yesterday and most had been marked down at least twice already. Wouldn't that be fun at Jcrew!

  11. I agree, this is a ridiculous promotion for the middle of August. Oh well, maybe another month of no purchases at J Crew and a zero balance on my J Crew credit card.

  12. Can anyone comment on the factory herringbone excursion vest? I can't decide if I should wait to purchase the stripe or camo excursion vests that are supposed to be out in late September

    1. I bought it yesterday with my rewards after missing out on it last year. I like it and there is a lot of inspiration on the web of how to wear it. I wouldn't think about it too long as I saw two "on hold" behind the counter yesterday.

    2. I was very excited to have an xs and small waiting for me in-store yesterday but left empty-handed. I knew that the vest had a digital pattern print and I didn't think much of it until I tried it on--it just wasn't appealing to me I guess.
Aside from my my opinion, it seems to be a big hit for many others! :)

    3. TC- when did you receive your reward card?
Mia- what do you mean by a digital pattern?

      Delete
    4. I received the email with my reward info on Monday, and received the card on Tuesday.

    5. It's a printed herringbone pattern. I picked one up because I was kicking myself for not getting it last year but not sure I like it enough for the high price.

      Delete
    6. The pattern is digitally printed on to the vest instead of being woven into the fabric. (I hope that makes sense?! Haha!) I was really disappointed to miss out on last year's excursion vest (printed fabric as well) but this one just didn't do it for me either. If anything, I would much rather prefer the solid color vests instead.

    7. Thanks ladies! I'll be making a call to the credit card company to see what's going on with my rewards.
I was also bummed I missed out on the excursion vest from last year. I will definitely check it out at factory.

  13. Yawn.

I have a feeling there should be a big % off final sale sometime. My local B&Ms seem to have cleared out their sale sections, which means that early summer leftovers should be on their way back to the wearhouse.

  14. Super disappointed about this new promo. I have like 5 things in my shopping bag but I won't bite until they offer a full price promo. Grrrr.

  15. I'll be curious to see if there are any other fp promos before the bounceback card expire in Sept.

I agree with Rosie. I think we'll see popbacks like they've been hoarding and a 30% off final sale. Online cuts were made yesterday, noted at the top of this post.

    1. I'm with you, Gigi. I'm hoping for some no-code-required promos during the bounceback period to get some stacked discounts.

Funny thing? I'm not a sale shopper, but it feels really nice to get a deal.

  16. Nothing for me...still waiting for FP promo. Haven't gotten in to a B&M so I think I probably missed the bounceback promo?

OT, but I just received an email from my local factory store advertising their new fall arrivals (4 colors of schoolboys featured, no specifics on color, winnie pant and peter pan collar top in 4 colors).

The email advertises 25% off purchase with your J.Crew card between 8/9-8/16. Also good if you open a card.

  17. Do you think that is online as well? since the Factory Puffer vest (92465) is finally showing available online but price is $98.

    1. Yes! I received an email this morning - 25% off at Factory if you use your JC Card with code CARDPERK. The e-mail also advertised pants 30-40% off. It would appear the vest is still showing online :)

  18. Not sure if someone already posted this code -- the Wearing It Today blog is offering a 20% off your order; worked for me on a couple of "In Good Company" brands that aren't normally included in a promo.

  19. Well, I would have LIKED to take advantage of this promo and order a Crewcuts T-shirt for my son, but the shirt is backordered and they won't let me use the promo code to order it. Really?????

    1. Danielle: Are you able to just place the order online yourself using the code?

      Delete
    2. That's actually how I'm trying to order the shirt -- I have it in my cart but the code won't work. If I use the link to see the 30% off items for boys they don't even show this one particular shirt. I'd prefer to do the order online because I can get extra points when I log into my Visa card web site, even though I ultimately pay my JC card. Sigh... I'm striking out today!

    3. Danielle, is it a third-party? I think some are not part of the 30% off, so they wouldn't show up on the click-through link. But the WIT20 will give you 20% off at least.
