Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I did, indeed. The sale section has gotten huge and the 30% off still applied to these items.

    1. Robson Street one. The sale section is HUGE and totally packed, so I am assuming they need to clear things out pretty quickly because the fall items will start trickling in.

  2. If anyone seen some Viv bow flats or neon azalea Blythe blouses lingering around please let me know :)

Also if anyone knows/seen if the chain link reisin frog necklace and bracelet is fp or on sale I'd really appreciate it!

  3. My stores in Portland, Oregon are still running 30%. I asked if they would be adding more things and the SA wasn't sure, but I'm assuming they will. They gotta sell that stuff!

  4. Did anyone see the Edie wallet on sale in stores? If so, do you recall the price? Thanks!

  5. Stopped by the Factory store and saw a few promos: a Frequent buyer card where you get 15% after you make 5 purchases, 50% off Thandie sweaters, additional 40% off clearance and select shorts for $19.99.

I wound up getting the Thandie sweater and reviewed it here:

  6. I wanted to share that I made a sale purchase at the Collection store this weekend and I was asked if I wanted to "opt out" the final sale (aka pay the sale price without % off so as to not make the sale final). I think it is a courtesy of this particular store but it doesn't hurt to ask your store, in case you want to take advantage of this (I think it is worth it if you buy a gift or if you are unsure of your purchase for some reason)

  7. can anyone comment about whether the Ram bracelet is fp or on sale. I feel like someone mentioned that it was marked down but I asked the SA to ring it up and it is still fp at Rockefeller Center. booo.

    1. One just showed up online on sale for $69 do I'd say you can find one in store and ask them to give you the online sale price. I've done this before. (of course, say please and thank you!)

  10. I went to the Toronto Yorkdale store on Friday and did a bit of damage. They were still running the additional 30% off sale. I found some extremely good deals compared to the online prices. I picked up the Lara peep toes in snake skin print ($75), the No. 2 terrazzo tweed pencil skirt ($35!), linen perfect shirt ($45), scout chinos in light khaki ($25, still full price online!) and the bold stripe tee in navy/pink ($16). I am pretty shopped out at this point and need to start clearing out my closet!

    1. Louis, I scored the Lara peep toes (glitter) as well! Couldn't pass them up at that price. I also got the Flowy Cami in polka dot for $12.

      Delete
    2. Louise-what were the price of the Lara before -30%. Also did you size down or take your Jcrew size in shoes? I think Gigi sized down 0.5 size. Thanks for any feedback! I'm going to try to get them to match prices.

    3. The price was $105.99 Canadian before the 30% off. I don't know what they are charging in the U.S. stores, but I imagine it would be around $90 as the base price in Canadian dollars before sales tax is about 15% higher than the U.S. prices.

I took my usual shoe size, 7.5, so I would say these run true to size relative to non-J.Crew shoes, and slightly generous compared to other J. Crew pumps. For reference, I take size 8 in the Mona and the Valentina pumps, which is a half size larger than what I usually wear in other shoe brands.

    4. I think they were $106 before $30 but that was the glitter version I bought which also rang in at $75. I think the snake print was a bit more than that.

      Delete
    5. Ok great. They are $199 American in store from me calling around:(

      Delete
    6. dagamara : Where did you find the glitter peep toes? I thought they were online only! I'm looking for a size 8 and my store doesn't carry them! Thanks!

    7. Yorkdale store in Toronto, Canada.

    8. dagmara, I nearly bought the glitter peep toes as well, but forced myself to put them back - I was already getting the snakeskin print, and I had also ordered the Inez midheel sandals *and* the flat sandals during the online promo last week. That's 3 pairs in less than a week - yikes!

      Delete
    9. I liked the calf hair and snakeskin versions too but I was maxed out also. I actually wanted the yellow pair more but it never showed in store and it wasn't on sale online.

    10. Pathos, I take 7.5 in almost all brands and usually wear 8 in J Crew pumps. They run small, imo. I have an average width foot. Anyway, on the glitter pumps, I took 7.5, so they are TTS in regular land, not the Crewniverse.

  11. Jessica,
My in store personal shopper was able to sell me the Ram Bracelet at the $69 minus the 30% and minus the 15% teacher discount. I would ask if you see one in the store.

    1. I think I need to start working with a personal shopper! This is ridiculous! I will say that when she opened up the drawer, I saw about 6-7 more of them inside so I know they've got plenty if anyone is dying for one.

  12. Does anyone know if the extra 30% off is still going on today? Thanks :)

  13. I called my B&m today and they said extra 30% Is still going on in store. I ask for how long and she said she didn't know. HTH.

  15. 30% off still on at the Burlington MA store, but the sale sections are pretty sparse. I got a great deal on girls pants, but that's it.

  16. Could someone help, please! I would like to buy the Cece Suede ballet flats but don't know my size in them. For reference I have a size 9 in leather Valentinas, Macalister Wedge boots and Olympia suede wedges. Am wondering if I'd be a size 9 in the Cece Suede ballets? Thanks so much! :)

Also, I called a couple of b&ms and they said 30% off is still going on.

    1. I wear a 9 in leather Valentinas but bought an 8.5 in leather Cece and they stretched quite a bit. I think I would order an 8.5 in suede too. They should stretch a bit.

  17. This really belongs in Reviews - but can anyone share feedback on the Valentina pumps? I have a calf hair pair that I am contemplating whether to keep. I am usually a 6 but got a 6.5 because the 6 felts too tight. Do you love yours? How did they wear?

    ReplyDelete
  18. @FlowerPower - I have the leather Valentinas and love the lower height for comfort/walking. I do find them a little tight in the toebox after walking around but I have widish feet. I think the leather will damage easily though as it is soft (I have the coral color) and marks easily. Overall I am happy I bought them as they are one of my more comfortable pairs of high heels. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thanks. I have narrow feet and the 6.5 fit me perfectly brand new but I am worried they will stretch out. The 6s though were just too tight to even think about breaking them in. I was also concerned about the softness of the leather - if they scuff too easily, they won't last that long. Hmmm. Must ponder.

  20. I have the leather Valentina's in rooftop red. I usually wear 8.5 (very average width) but needed 9 in Valentina's. Fairly comfortable but not roomy in toebox, just like Jan said. Soft leather, will scratch easily. I will avoid wearing them on brick sidewalks and/or in rainy weather. I'm happy with the purchase (paid $69.99) but wouldn't have paid more.

  21. Jessica......About the Enameled Ram bracelet. I told my store that it had been $69.99 online (I read it here) and she offered to sell me it at that price plus additional 30% off. They just happened to have one in the store. So do give it a try at your store. It worked for me!

  22. How does calling a store and having them ship an item to your house work? Can anyone do it or do you have to have an existing relationship with a PS? I've never done this before. How much do they charge for shipping?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I spent my $50 gift card that JC gave me to try to 'lure' me back to JC. My "very special PS" was not particularly helpful nor was she even nice. I'm sure she could tell I was not a 'high roller' and just wanted to get me out of her hair. Still, I bought a nice Tippi crewneck in camel. I saw the Tessa blouse and an kicking myself for not buying it there.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Tweetle Beetle - You can call a store and do a 'charge send' where you buy the item over the phone and they ship it to you. You will pay a flat shipping charge $9.95 for Canada and I believe $8.95 for the U.S. I've done it before and have good experiences using this service. HTH

  25. Made it to the Santa Monica store. They had featherweight cashmere cardigans on sale, and the store had an extra 30% off.
My size in the fairway green was not in stock, but a very helpful salesperson went to the red phone. The online operation had my size, honored the store price and gave me free shipping. I'm pleased.

  26. TweetleB, I've generally had good luck just calling:
me: hi, can you do a stock check for me? I'm looking for (item, number, color, size)
whoever answered the phone: sure, hold on..... Oh, ok we have it
me: great, can you do a charge send? To me?
    PWATP: yes

However I did say generally. With JC, as switch airlines, you never know who'll pick up.

  30. I went on Sunday and the Extra 30% was still in effect. I picked up some summerweight Bermudas, the No.2 pencil in pop art polka dot and the tipped linen schoolboy blazer. I don't usually wear polka dots but the SA insisted I try the skirt and my husband thought the pattern was not at all twee so let's see if it works out.

The tipped linen schoolboy must have been a return, when I brought it to the cash the SA asked me where I found it. I didn't see another in the store and was glad to have picked this up because it sold out before I made up my mind. Kismet.

  31. Talking about personal shoppers....what exactly do they do for their customers? I've developed a very friendly relationship with a few managers and SA's in my stores and already feel like their service is very personal. Does the "proper" personal shopper do more than that? Anybody have one and can tell me more? I had a young SA sending me invites to Sunday events for new rollouts. I finally thanked her, but told her that my Sundays were devoted to husband and fur child. I guess she was a personal shopper? But she only worked part-time and I rarely ever saw her when I went in the store. So she didn't get many sales off me. I'm not sure a personal shopper could do anything more for me than just the regular CS and SA's.

  32. This is totally off topic but I need to share. Mickey Drexler called me today!

I wrote him an email (using his email address found on this blog) about J. Crew's prices that jump around and the huge in-store/online pricing discrepancies, and about 20 minutes later, he left a message on my cell phone. I guess this was not totally unexpected, having watched the CNBC documentary, but it still kind of floored me.

    1. JCrewJD - You know the people getting married, venue, time of day, etc...so you'll know best which color to choose. I would try some turquoise colors if you go w/the grey. If you wear the pink, consider going purple for a cardi, etc.. like this BR cardi in purple orchid. If you go for a metal, silver would look good with either. If you do pink/purple, consider gold as it does look good w/purple.

  35. I've run into the personal shoppers at each of the b&m that I frequent. Out of the 3, I'm only really comfortable with one. The other two just didn't really seem open to actually listening to what I was looking for and usually had me in incorrect sizes. That said, there is one personal shopper that I LOVE. Her store is smaller and a bit out of my way, but it's worth it to go to her! I find her styling advice helpful and trust that she is not going to let me look like a brightly colored, poorly proportioned, ill fitting disaster.

  37. The J.Crew in Orlando is still running the extra 30% off as of today. There are three of the Raj paisley maxidresses in size 8, a size 6 purple Lucille dress in scalloped eyelet, numerous Ella dresses in various sizes, a couple of the brompton safari cat clutches and candy stripe clutches, tons of shoes, and cotton pencil skirts (so check there if you are looking for a particular shoe or size/color of pencil skirt).
