30% Off Summer Sale at J.Crew {going strong with new items added!}

A reminder that J.Crew is offering 30% off Summer Sale with promo code SHOPNOW. The promotion ends this Thursday, June 21, 2012.

It appears that some *new* items made it to the Summer Sale (click here to shop) this morning. For example, the {beautiful} Anchor Bead Charm Bracelet (item 94913; was $65.00) is now on sale for $49.99 in both navy and ivory.

Quick note: It sounds like J.Crew's brick & mortar stores might still be offering an additional 30% off their sale items. As many of you have noted, the prices in B&M stores are better (as in lower) than online. So if you live near a store, you are probably better off shopping there. However, online has a greater selection- so definitely check it out too!

Will you be taking advantage of the SHOPNOW promo? Are you loving the new promotion from J.Crew? Did you pick up an item or two? Please share! :)

  1. Am so happy to grab the pompon jacquard capris! But what's up with the golden burgundy going on sale already in the pencil skirt????

  2. The Mona suede pumps in deep orchid are $54 ... about $38 with the 30% off. Snagged.

    1. I just noticed that they don't appear as $54 when you look at the product page. You have to select a size, then the price drops to $54. HTH!

    2. I allllmost got those. Restraining myself though because I really just don't need them. But that price!

      Delete
    3. Thanks for the heads up! Just bought a pair :)

    4. My size is the only size they don't come up that price in! I tried 4 other sizes, and they all went to $54, but size 10 stays at $139.99. Too bad these are running small/TTS, or I'd try a 9.5. Boo!!

      Delete
    5. I called CS to ask about the price discrepancy between sizes. Apparently there was a glitch in their system that was causing some of them to be showing at $54, but she honored the price with the discount and waived shipping since I'd already placed an order earlier. Thanks J Crew! When they're good, they're really good, just wish they were more consistently that way! :)

  3. There are also new promo-priced items this morning including the No. 2 pencil skirt in circle eyelet, Antique Paisley tunic, and several others. As life as a cat mentioned in a previous post, some regular price and promo-priced items received markdowns, too. Same thing on the men's side. New promo-priced items and markdowns. I've updated both of the promo-priced lists this morning.

    *Women's list here.
    *Men's list here.

  4. would love to know if the anchor beaded bracelet is on sale in store. Also, does anyone know if any stores carry petite sizes? I know customer service/jcrew.com says online only? TIA

    1. I don't know about the bracelet, but I do know that stores do not carry petites. They are in fact online only.

    1. Are all the colors in store $34.95?

      Delete
    2. I think it's $89.50 on the store, same thing online. Not sure if it would be final sale in the store with the 30% off. I love the color, but have never worn burgundy in the summer (would be gorgeous for fall though!). Anyone have it or thinking of getting it? Suggestions for what to pair it with?

      Delete
    3. I saw it in the store yesterday and it was still full price. Also, I have to say I was disappointed to see that IMO it is more of a rust color than the dark rich red that it looks to be online. I'm probably going to hold off because I agree, it's more of a fall color to me and I would love if they made it in wool.

For pairings...navy, ivory, camel, peach, light pink, grey...I think you can probably do a lot with it!

      Delete
    4. Thanks - pairing it with peach/light pink would be pretty. I'm a bit on the fence about it. I actually liked the color when I saw it in person, but not as a summer color. Still, it's often warm throughout September and October here, and the cotton is substantial enough to wear unless it's really cold outside.

  6. The Ella dress in porcelain paisley dropped this morning! I was delighted to snag that, hoping I picked the right size...I'm seven months pregnant so no way of knowing what size I'll need once this babe is here.

  7. All the sales in store are amazing. I've made two trips to two different stores and just did an online order this morning. I picked up the No. 2 pencil skirt in neon azalea for for $27! I really want the Lucille dress in green. I may need to call my store today!!

  8. Also interesting to see that they pulled some stuff from the sale mid-way through. I noticed the deck stripe skirt is back up to full price this morning.

    1. thanks dagmara! I just got $88 adjustment on one that I ordered on Monday!

      Delete
    2. Do you know how that one fits? I have the Superfine Cotton Attache from last year, and it's slightly roomy in my usual 0, but I found this year's linen version to fit extremely small in the bust (the 2 was very tight). Not sure which size to order in the Seersucker version, although I'm leaning towards the smaller size (I assume it will fit similar to the cotton version). TIA!

      Delete
    3. Caitlin, I have the cotton in size 6 slightly roomy amdd the linen one was tight inchest even in 8 and huge in hips. Based on measurements I ordered 8, it seems more similar to linen one. I should get it tomorrow and I can post here how it fits. It lookalike there is enough inventory to wait. I sure wish it fits more like the cotton version despite the measurements, sometimes they are rubbish :)

      Delete
    4. ajc if you could post about the fit that would be amazing! Thanks so much! And glad to hear that you had the same fit issue with the linen version :).

      Delete
    5. I would also love to see a review of how the seersucker attache dress fits, since I really disliked the jute/linen version when I tried it on. TIA!

      Delete
    6. I have received the dress and it is a great dress but better if you are pear shaped. The chest fits me well in size 8 (similar to last year's 6) but the hips are big. Overall the fit is more similar to linen version. So Caitlin, I recommend you go with a 2.

  11. This may be adressed somewhere else but I have been trying to stay away for the sake of my wallet... Anyone with the white Cafe Capri - see through? My sister has the white shorts from the outlet and those are just a bit too sheer for me.

Might just bite the bullet and pay the shipping on those even though it ENRAGES me to pay shipping on an item that they don't carry in store (again, why does the world hate tall people?). But, I am wearing my black ones today and they are just my favorite hot weather work bottom, I must have another color.

    1. Call the store or stop in and they can order an item for you and waive the shipping fee.

    2. I did not think they were too see through, they are pretty substantial. I reviewed them HERE. I personally prefer scout chinos in white, they are now $35.

  12. Has anyone seen the Dree dress on sale in stores? I keep thinking it's due for a cut, but I haven't been into my store in a while. TIA!

  13. The store is most definately better for deals! I scored a perfect pencil skirt that was $118,marked down to $29.99 with 30% off. Every shoe and bag price was lower than online as was the accessories. Go to the store if you can.

  14. I think I'll hit my stores today and see what, if anything, has been added to sale. It was pretty picked over last week, but you never know. Of course my cart is full too....arg. I'm getting poorer by the minute. Hee hee!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I am glad the one item in the sale that I really wanted finally sold out in my size. Now I won't be tempted to over pay for something! (that is much cheaper in stores) Glad others are enjoying their deals. I really don't need anything like Samantha said...

  16. I had my ps order some items (so thankful for him - he gets the teacher discount plus free shipping for me!). I got the eyelet skirt in fresh kiwi. This was a love for me, but I hoped it would go on sale ($58). I also loved the perfect fit striped cardi, but decided to wait since it's HOT here now ($24). I bought the paisley smocked top (sized down twice), but re-bought since it went on sale ($30). Then I got my nephew a tee and a button-up. I'm done for a good long while. :)

  19. Could someone help - I am wondering about sizing in the suede Monas. I took a size 9 in the leather Valentinas. Does anyone have both as I'm wondering if I'd take a size 9 in the suede Monas.
    Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have the calf hair Valentinas in a 9 and I also have the leather Monas in a 9 (just ordered the suede ones). I thought the Monas were a smidge small when I got them but I think going up a half size would have been too much, I've found they are stretching just enough as I wear them. I only find I have to size up a half size for their flats...but that's just me. HTH

      Delete
    2. In leather shoes, heels that is - I have both leather Monas and Valentinas - I take a 9 but in patent Monas I sized down a half size and bought 8.5 and they did stretch quite a bit the first week I wore them. Not sure how suede behaves, whether it stretches, sorry.

      Delete
  20. I haven't tried the Valentinas, but I have tried the Monas and I take my normal shoe size in them. I have had to size down for some other J.Crew shoes (like the Drea peep toes), but the Monas are TTS for me. HTH!

  21. The linen Tessa is on sale online for $69.99 in yellow, purple, and flax. The purple was on sale in store for $29. I called my store and they don't carry yellow. And they're sold out all colors. Anyway my question is, is anyone seeing the yellow in store for a cheaper price- let me know! TIA!

  22. I wish the puckered dress would go on sale online! It has been marked down in store for a little while, but seems to run large and I can't find a small enough size.

    1. I second this. Has anybody had success getting an online personal shopper to match the in store price + use educator discount?

      Delete
    2. Yes to the on store price. No to the educator discount. :)

      Delete
    3. If you go into a store and find the dress but in the wrong size, you can use the red phone and have an in-store SA speak to the rep on the phone -- they will then match the price, plus the 30% off.

  23. My stores had the pink leather ballet flats on sale for $69.99. One store didn't have them marked or in the sale section, but they rang up at the sale price. They run big!! I wear an 8.5 (this year) in their ballet flats, and have even sized up to a 9 here or there. I had to take an 8 in these, and even would have been ok in a 7.5. So they're running a full to half size big.

    ReplyDelete
  26. FFM: I was just in the store at Copley Place in Boston on my lunch hour and purchased the animal print version of the mini-Brompton. It was $99.99 minus 30%. They had leather ones in gold and orange and I believe they were both $129.99 minus 30%.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thank you Pink Maple! I have the animal print version on the way to me, but have also had my eye on the gold one, so I may end up getting it, too. What did you think of the pale gold color on the bag?

      Delete
    2. FFM, I saw the metallic Bromptpn in pale gold and it is the same color of the metallic hobo that (I think) you have whose name escapes me now, not the rich gold of the Thompson tote, if that makes sense. HTH

      Delete
    3. Thanks Ema. I have both the Thompson and the large Metallic Gallery hobo, so I was thinking the color of the Brompton is more like that of the Gallery bag. Do you remember if the feel/texture of the leather is the same, or is the Brompton smoother?

      Delete
    4. It looks like tumbled leather, not smooth like the Thompson. HTH!

    2. OperaRach - There was something wrong there anyway. The regular size blue sea was $69.99 and the petite size was $89.99, also in blue. Pink wasn't on sale. Now that they've added pink to sale, both are $89.99.

Last in-store price I saw on the ticket was $69.99. If it's been marked further, I'm not seeing it on any tickets out there.

  32. Bought the Cashmere Waffle Colorblock Sweater with the promo today. It disappeared off the site when the new arrivals showed up last week and just came back today. I'm pretty excited, I've wanted this one since it came out ages ago!

OT, but I really want the Plaid Boucle Tweed Jacket in the navy, but it's already sold out in my size. Do you think there's a good chance that one will pop back up at some point? My PS tried doing a WWFIFY but they couldn't find one.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think it's highly likely there will be a popback. I'm returning a size 2 to my B&M today. I find that it runs a little small too, so you could try a larger size if available.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Cate! I actually tried the neon version on in-store for size and agree that it runs a bit small. My usual 2 was okay, but I preferred the feel of the 4 (less constricting through the shoulders). I'll keep my eyes peeled for a popback.

    3. A crazy thing happened tonight when I went to return the navy plaid boucle jacket tonight. The SA told me it had just been marked down - then she got our her price list and told me that it was now $159.99 minus the 30% (111.99) AND she applied the student discount because I work at a college, so she ended up price adjusting it from the original $268 down to $95.19.

I feel like this must have been a mistake - that it was the neon version that was marked down or something - but I didn't question it.

At that price I'm kind of interested in the neon version!

      Delete
    4. That's fantastic! I just called my store to see if it was on sale (I'm in Canada so items don't always go on sale at the same time as in the U.S.) and it is. I think I might grab the neon version at the sale price and then wait to see if I can snag the navy at some point down the road. Thanks so much for the heads up!
