Extra 30% Off J.Crew's Spring Sale {oh yeah!}

J.Crew is offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SUNSHINE. Yey! This code expires Sunday, May 5, 2013. The fine print includes:

*Offer valid on purchases of sale items made at jcrew.com from May 4, 2013, 12:01am ET through May 5, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew or J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. To redeem, enter code SUNSHINE in the promo box when checking out. Limit one promo code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change. 

I love that this offer is available so quickly after the last 25% off anything promo. But I am hoping the fine print is wrong, and that it is available both online and in-store purchases. Especially since stores have lower price points for the same items on sale online.

Take for example the {adorably-chic} Circle-Print Chambray Popover (Item 30313; $88.00) which is currently on sale for $69.99 online, and $49.99 in stores. That is a $20 difference before any other additional discount is applied. That is a pretty substantial discrepancy in price.

Lastly, J.Crew had a nice update to their Spring Sale section online (click here) earlier this morning. Some merchandise increase for everyone (900+ for Women and 260+ for Men).

JGIC Product Review: My Closet Addiction

A big "thanks!" to J.Crew Guy In Canada who is graciously reviewing Men's items from J.Crew with us.

We all shop too much.  Seriously, we do.  And we love it.  Surprised? shame on you it's a blog about that very thing.  But if you're like me you also are known to hide it.

Many of us has our own version of Kryptonite; that one item (or possibly items) that is your undoing.  Mine is definitely fleece.  Softly looped cotton (sometimes a blend) that just feels so right that it can't be wrong.  Thankfully J.Crew has helped me out far too often, five crewnecks, three shawl collared ones, three full zips and oh yeah one 1/2 zip.  God help me if they make a fleece Ludlow; I'd click on it in a heart beat.  Sunfaded blue, green, pale blue and now red along with athletic grey and royal blue, might as well live in colour.

Merino, merino, merino love you too.  Maybe not quite as much as fleece, but you are running a close second.  V-neck, crews, cardigans and even turtlenecks.  More subdued colours that the fleece, grey, navy, rich brown, graphite, cream, purple and burgundy.   I definitely have a sweater problem.  They wear like steel, look polished and are almost as comfortable as the above Kryptonite.  Just scored a new one in the elusive powder blue, aka faded peri.

While I do have a love for Ludlow (four pairs of pants and three jackets), washed favorite shirts (I'm afraid to count these, possibly 30) a guy does need a complete wardrobe right?, I try not to discriminate and grab a tie or two and socks.  My spouse is quite tolerant, although blissfully unaware of the extent of my addiction.  How many of you hide the J.Crew boxes in the trunk of your car or feel like you're having an affair with the UPS guy?

Many JCAs have already commented in various posts throughout the years our relationships with the UPS guys thanks to the constant delivery of packages from J.Crew. ;)

I am no different as I am definitely guilty of loving certain categories of merchandise. In particular I heart the Hacking Jackets that J.Crew offers each year. Plus, their sweatshirts (embellished or not). Don't get me started on their scarves! Those things add up in my closet.

Spring Sale is Back {see ya later final sale?}

With Spring in full swing, it looks like the Spring Sale (click here to shop online) is back. That means the dreaded "final" in the Final Sale is officially gone, allowing for customers to return and exchange sale-priced items purchased online (& hopefully in brick & mortar stores). {wahoo!}

I did a mock check out with a few items I purchased over the past few weeks that were "final sale" and did not notice any such mark on the check out page. So it looks like "final sale" may be truly gone! :)

Lastly, J.Crew has a nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (940+ for Women and 275+ for Men). Yey!

Lulu Frost Summer 2013 for J.Crew

Lust With Us Over Lulu Frost's Latest Line For J.Crew

Is there anything better than two of your favorite fashion brands teaming up? We think not. We can't help but get awfully excited every time J.Crew and Lulu Frost release their collaborative collection every season, and their latest line for summer '13 is really a knockout.

These bright metal baubles range from $98 to $278 and are available at J.Crew on May 20. Peep the pieces that will bring out your inner Jenna, sans the specs, below.

I am not a huge fan of the Lulu Frost for J.Crew line. In general, I find most pieces ridiculous looking (see first image as example) and ridiculously priced for what is essentially costume jewelry. (The collaboration pieces tends to be priced higher than J.Crew's regular jewelry line.)

However, there is always a piece or two that I look twice at- thinking it is quite stunning. With the upcoming Summer 2013 collection, there are a few pieces (like the bracelets) that look quite lovely.
