Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. I've also had my eye on a few cashmere sweaters, glad to see them finally join the sale section. Fingers crossed for a decent promo to appear on the website soon! :D

  2. I told myself to cut back on shopping and then I ordered a few things. 🙄 A couple of JCrew shirts are on their way including one that's been backordered for a month. I also bought a short sleeve cashmere sweater and that came this week. And I also bought my first Alex Mill sweater and I love it so much! I'm really trying hard not to order another!!! But I really need to clean out my closet. I've done a little here and there but I think I need to hit it harder. So that's the long winded way of saying no more shopping for me this weekend.

    2. @Suz Has the Claire sweater in the rust color. I went with small a is my normal JCrew size is sweaters. It's just nice. The little shoulder detail. The cuffs. Simple sweater just done really nicely. I can't make up my mind if I want the red which isn't a color I usually wear or just get the navy and get rid of a bunch of blue sweaters in it's place.

    3. ^ uggh. Sorry. Typos. I went with a small which is my normal size in JCrew sweaters.

    4. Miss JR, Nordstrom has the navy and pink Claire on sale. I am looking for the grey.

    5. Miss JR I have a mockneck sweater from Alex Mill in red and the color is very saturated and bright. I’ll look and see if the Claire sweater looks similar but if you’re not a red person it may be intense!

Kikigirl, I posted a more detailed review of the coats in yesterday’s thread for you. Hoping the additional details help.

    6. @suz yes I read the reviews and thanked you yesterday. Very helpful. ❤️

    7. @Suz Has yeah... maybe it'll be too much for me... normally my "red" is more burgundy, wine, deeper red or lighter pink-ish tones. i did wind up selling an everlane bright red sweater on Posh because i never wore it but i also think it wasn't as nice as my other sweaters. all shades of blues are my go-to colors.

      Delete
    8. Miss JR, think it’s a similar red to my sweater. I have three red sweaters and by far the Alex Mill one the brightest most saturated red.

      Kikigirl glad to help.

  3. Happy Friday JCAs! In my continued exploration of pants options, I came across the JCrew Billie in corduroy on PM. The fabric content seems to be *ok*, not great, but at least better than the velvet version IMO. Does anyone remember what colorways these pants came in? I guess they were from FA or HO 19? TIA!

  4. Disappointed in the lack of a promo. I can’t remember ever seeing only free shipping for rewards members in the offers. I should quit looking but there are a few items on my radar.

  5. @Shoppingcelle, I telephoned the Boston store to ask about some new items and they have a promo of 30% off. Their sale items only 30% off and the manager is mystified as to why the company hasn’t kicked out more generous promos too.

  6. My cobblestone Nordic boots arrived and they are really pretty. Mine had the pink laces in which made me feel like I was going to a baby shower. Although I have a drakes pink silk scarf that might match perfectly, I swapped in the gray laces and like it a lot. I also have spare black laces from my black Nordic boots so I might try that too. I’m thinking I probably don’t need these AND the pecan color, but they’re so warm and soft inside, not sure I can resist. I do really like the contrast of the black sole too.
I had washed my hands and a tiny drop of water got on the boot but disappeared, so maybe they’re treated.

    1. Mine just arrived too! I do like them very much! They have both laces! Love the insole! I will definitely keep, and think about the crepe sole boots! I realize I don’t need 2 pairs!!! I also got the cream Sherpa. I love it! Very pretty contrast! Very authentic!
Waiting on black tuxedo Cameron’s in size up they should come today. One of my packages got lost it has pointele cashmere sweater and T-shirt. They refunded me. But it’s been almost 2 weeks no tracking!

      Delete
    2. I have red and black polartec (pullovers) coming too. The cream would look great with the boots but it’s not the best color for me. And my two other boots, 😆.
I keep saying I will get dressed more but with my assortment of Alo leggings, all these fleeces and boots it almost doesn’t make sense.

      Delete
    3. Ladies, I’m glad that the cobblestone Nordic boots worked out! They look very pretty. I love pink but felt the same way @SuzHas. At least they come with 2 colours. I love my pecan ones, if I could’ve gotten a good price I would buy the cobblestone also.

      Delete
    4. I also just got the crepe sole in sepia leather and love...
I was afraid the 9 might be loose as my black crepe sole ones are an 8.5 but they’re narrow enough when I tighten the laces that they don’t feel loose.

      Delete
    5. Ok we have 2 pairs boots each! I do like them both! I only paid $36 or the sepia and $31 with $15 rewards for the Nordic! But in reality where am I wearing them? Lol! Money adds up. Space adds up! I feel very spoiled with 2 pairs of boots! I am in NYC. Yes cold enough and I change into shoes at work! I guess one for dry weather and one for wet weather! I still can’t get over I have 2 pairs looking at me! But if I had to choose Nordic is my choice. Crepe sole is very practical being leather and good for wet days! Have a good day all!!!

      Delete
    6. I basically wear them like sneakers in this weather. Super comfortable for walking and with multiples they’ll just last longer. I’ll have one pair for each day of the week Mon-fri. 😂

      Delete
    7. Six Haz You just made my day!!! One for a day week! I am dying laughing here but feel same! I do think they even better them Ugg’s! I show them to my mom and she was like these are $300 boots! Ok ok you are very convincing! 2 pairs might not be bad! But no more boots!!🤦🏻‍♀️. Ofcourse I am looking a to the suede cap toe already! They are discounted to $83. If there is a good promo like 70’off I may pick them up . I trash my leather ones this year and replaced them with Ribbed Chelsea boots in leather ... very comfy and cute! So I am not allowed to buy anymore!😂

      Delete
    8. When it rains it pours. Im So picky I honestly returned way more than I bought this year, but when you like something, it’s comfortable, and the price is fair that’s a time to stock up. Next year when they come out and they’re $250 we will be happy with our stash.

      Delete
    9. Yep for sure! I agree!!! Hard to even think of returns on Theese! I also return a lot. I am not settling or so so....but with This sale feels like a bought a lot. Everything was super good price! But with packages coming in daily it seems too much! I may do an inventory today if my purchases!

    10. Well I am happy to report that I have a shoe shelf in my closet that fits all five pairs of boots perfectly. Of course I will probably keep them downstairs this season but I had to test it out.
I probably could move all my heels to another space and not miss them for quite some time.

      Delete
    11. @Suz Has, I get less wear out of my dressy coats and scarves than my heels. That's only because I will put on my heels & dress well to work from home. But since I don't go outside I never wear the coats. When I go outside I'm usually going for a run or a walk, so I am in gear or the Chateau parka.

I think the Nordic boots so comfy I have worn them work from home with a sweater dress or skinny pants. I have a pair that have never been outside! My indoors boots.

      Delete
    12. They are so comfortable. I haven’t really worn my dressy coats this year yet except for a few trips to the mall when it was cold but not parka cold. 😆

    13. I wear my grey chateau parka a lot and my warm down nordic parka from jcrew from 3 yrs ago. Its super warm and down filled. Its been to cold to wear lady jacket.
I am content on both boots. Thank you Ladies!!!!! I may need a shelf.. lol... I usually store mine in boxes and still on the shelve in my closet, so maybe I loose the boxes... hmm

I did an inventory and I bought and kept way too much. But I feel all good pieces and prices were great

    16. @Kate, lots of nice things. I wish I'd picked up one of the polartec jackets!

I ordered a lot too, fortunately mostly gifts for the kids and their s/o's (and other family and friends). They were pretty happy with packages arriving frequently for a month. My stepson had never worn corduroys before, now he has three pair and wears them daily.

    17. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but how did you find the sizing of the Nordic boots? I usually wear a 7 in open toed shoes and a 7 1/2 in sneakers and wasn't sure if I should order a 7 or an 8.

  7. I slipped on my no shopping month to get some denim in the 60% plus "cardlove" sale... just got them but they measure over an inch shorter in the inseam than the online description. Will they let me return at least for credit since the online description was not accurate? Frustrating. Never tried to return a FS item before but this is annoying, I would not have ordered if the online measurement had been correct.

    3. Thanks ladies. I was just worried about the dreaded Final Sale...didn't know how strict they are with that these days, was worried they would stonewall me or something. I did email CS and they got back to me within a few hours (amazing!) and sent me a label for a free return.

    4. Sorry I’m having so much trouble posting! Glad they allowed the return. Sadly in this online age if they can’t provide accurate garment measurements and website pics and descriptions they have to expect returns. Better they maintain some sort of reputation and have happy customers.

  8. I received the cashmere ribbed cardigan in pine which is a lovely colour. It’s not too cropped on me at 5’7” with my higher rise jeans. I did order an xs instead of small and almost wish I could have gotten xxs but the length might not work.

The vneck is def too low on me to wear without a cami or shirt underneath. This is where I’m stumped. Even though I tried a couple of things I’m not sure. Does anyone have suggestions or own this sweater in pine? Is a white tee or tank not a match with it? I’d likely just wear it with jeans. TIA

    1. I have the cashmere dip-dye cardigan from a few years ago, which I'm pretty sure has a similar silhouette to the cashmere ribbed cardigan. I often wear it with a button-down shirt (both plain block colors and patterns). As your cardigan is a pretty neutral color, you could definitely wear patterned shirts with it (gingham, liberty etc).

And, I also wear mine with striped t-shirts and eyelet blouses and I think it looks good! Hope that helps. :)

    2. @Jan, Hi Jan I would put a shirt or tee as Ash suggested. A scarf would be pretty too. I don’t think I would care for a cami under this. I wear mine with a small scarf or a necklace. Being a 34 D I fill out the top so it looks nice without. I tried different sizes and stayed with the S. It’s supposed to be oversized and worked with my height @5’7.5. I love this sweater as you know in the pink and muslin color. Wear it however you decide. Hope all is well up there for you and your family.

    3. @jan that’s a pretty sweater. I recall trying in store over a Liberty shirt and it looked very cute. I agree with above.

    5. I bought a black XS. But my 18 yrs old daughter who is m-l and 5.9 took it from me. She wears it brallete! Jeans and leggings! I did try it over few button down shirts and thought it looked good! I do think it’s a great sweater! I love the thickness on it! I hope she gives it back when she is tired of it! It’s one of the few Normal sweaters she has va another hoodie!!!

      Delete
    6. @Ash, thank you for all of those suggestions I will have to try some of them out!

@Lynn, I hope that you’re doing well! I would have loved the pink colour way but it’s been so hard to find on pop back. I don’t have a lot of pine green items so I’m not sure if that’s why it appeals to me or perhaps that’s why I’m having a harder time. Thank you for your suggestions.

@kikigirl, I have a few liberty shirts but they’re all blue or pink based. I like that idea so I’ll have to see what I have, thank you.

@Kate, that’s very nice of you to give her the sweater! I think I could size down more but worry about the length. I’m sure she looks great in it. Thank you for your thoughts!

  9. I am beyond devastated my local jcrew closes in two days, no big sales most of the store emptied after the holidays so the merchandise probably went to other locations. Now I don’t have a store near me, has anyone else’s store closed? Our store has been there at least ten years and I remember a lot of the same associates over the years, very sad day.

  10. My cameron tuxedo came in yesterday! I had no energy to try them on. I am usually Sz 0-2. But they were tiny! Sz 4 is perfect! Very cafe Capri form the old jcrew! Wish they were lined! But I like them, for $27 Will keep! I also bought 2 pairs of Peyton pants. They were $14 pair. I own grey from the fall, and plaid in Sz 2. The navy were perfect! The black were super tight and came up a lot higher on waist and about 2 inches shorter. Keeping the navy and returning the black!!!

    1. Kate thanks for the info. I have the tuxedo jacket, but skipped on the pants because I thought the style would never fit me, plus the short length. I am usually a 4 (some 2's) and I bet I would have needed 8 for my large thighs! I would have probably gotten 6 and been sorry.

      Delete
    2. I only tried Camerons once and like you @pbanos found the proportions didn’t work. They were loose on my waist/crotch area and tight on my thighs.

      Delete
    3. I have to say Camerons been my faves. sorry guys...but I guess proportions are all different....they peyton pants are new for me, as they slightly more high waisted.
With these tuxedo pants definitely small. I dont have anything size 4. But I think its the thicker non stretch fabric.

      Delete
    4. No need to apologize! I’m glad they work for you. It’s such a learning experience trying to understand how different cuts fit different bodies. My girls and I are not all built exactly the same but we have small waists and round butts so at least we are all comparable. OTOH my moms hip measurement is not much bigger than mine but her waist is almost the same as her hips and I am scratching my head trying to figure out what type of pants will work on someone with no butt. Sometimes I think it it doesn’t work on me maybe it will work on her. 😆

  11. @January, the same happened with the Ft Lauderdale store. Managers were told they were closing on the 26, then they were told Monday the 18th. Little notification for them, no concern, nada. I’m beyond furious with Jcrew for having so maliciously treated the wonderful guys that worked there. I will refuse to go to Boca Raton. Will order from my stylist or the Boston or Farmington, Ct stores.

I’ve written a letter to Jcrew about what the company pulled and waiting word if any. Thank you for replying.
