  1. I think there are a few new items that were added today. At least I didn’t see them yesterday.

  2. Kit Hoover (Access Hollywood) is wearing the new lattice floral shirt today. It is so pretty. Now I want it! ❤️

    1. Yes super cute. In store yesterday they styled this over light wash jeans and their striped cashmere sweater. Was adorable.

  3. It’s been forever since I tried banana republic but they have a pair of sequin pull on pants I’ve been eyeing since the holidays. My sister told me she got both colors way back. I went to the store today to try them.
I loved them. I wanted the black and they only had the bronze in store in my size but offered to order for me with free shipping and price match online. I ended up ordering both for my mom and had them ship to her.
They are $30 online. True fit told me XXS but I liked the XS I tried. If they have XXS maybe I’ll try them too.
The rise was to my waist, and the length was a little long barefoot but not long enough for heels. I figure in the summer I’ll wear them with sandals and my fancy sneaks most likely now. I totally could dress them up if I wanted but where am I going. Maybe they’d work with my tuxedo blazer.
I also got a pair of pleated faux leather pants (which were half the online price in store) but one negative was the dressing room was dim and it was hard to see...however nothing was final sale so I won’t feel guilty bringing them back.

They had a lovely chunky long cardigan but it was cotton and poly I think and I think it would pill but it looked super cozy.

At banana, Store sale was extra 60 off.

First time I’ve gone to the mall and not gone to crew or madewell.

    1. @Suz you got me with those pants. 15% cashback on retailmenot.
      I went with S.

    2. Thanks @ Suz Has. I ordered too :). I've been looking for a wide leg black sequin pant. BR was once a go-to, but haven't shopped there in forever. Honestly, move of my orders for the last year have been Lululemon.

    3. PBanos, Oh wow 15! Ebates/Rakuten was only 8! Nice find.

You two are both a little taller than I am so I hope the length works

I’m kind of excited. I watch Trinity Woodall on IG and she loves sequins. She must be rubbing off on me.

    4. @Suz Has, hopefully they'll land on my hips for a little length.
I've got velvet Stubbs & Wootons that may work for flats, or black patent sandals for warm weather.

That reminds me I saw J Crew had Stubbs & Wooton again, but not in my big size (and they are $500, well above my budget)

    5. I know a lot of ppl have liked BR pants in the past for work and much of their attire is more work styled, but TBH they seem to have a lot of styles that are equal parts work and loungewear (in black) and that’s my comfort zone for the most part, especially these days.
I don’t love the store lighting or overall vibe (much more subdued than crews more bright and lively environment) but I may need to continue to make it one of my stops.

    6. Local store had them in stock, so doing curbside pick up tomorrow. Will report back on how they work out. I'm in a similar boat @Suz Has. Working from home, but mostly wearing lounge bottoms with a nice shirt or cozy sweater. Will be my uniform until at least summer.

    7. @pbanos, S&W has an ongoing sale for far less than $500.00

    8. Tara, can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

    9. @Lynn, I know. But not really looking, I've two pair now, velvet bee mules from a JCrew clearance, and a needlepoint pair shipped from Palm Beach last May. A lockdown sale, I guess. The sales associate was so sweet in Palm Beach!

  4. Was looking at the crew’s sneakers especially the New Balance ones. Price range low to high tops off at $180.00 in a silver suede but sold out. Casablanca Paris has a New Balance Balance 327 coming out with off white pink trim, a pattern and a green sole. Check it out if interested, have no idea what the price will be but the sneaker itself is interesting. I like the details the gold metal on the laces, the pink trim and the green sole. In general, NB has always been a difficult sizing problem. They always ran wide and uncomfortable on me.

    1. I had bought and returned or sold several NB as well. Some were long and narrow and squished the top of my foot,, others were comfy but too wide and loose to actually wear for exercise, like my feet would slip out. The court style I have (jcrew sold in a millennium pink and gold) I wear for walking but they’re not great, I gave the pink to my daughter after she wore her first pair out!

    2. @Suz, I haven’t purchased a pair of these in over 20 years and it looks like nothing’s changed. I will pass on the 327, too bad it looks interesting. Thanks for the input

    3. Funny how feet differ, I have a pair of NB I bought when my local JCrew was closing, and they are a favorite for weightlifting as they have a stiff sole, which wouldn't be ideal for walking or hanging out. I have muscular high volume feet from 3 decades of running and lifting!

    4. The ones I sold were 620 from jcrew. They definitely had a stiff sole.
The whole sneaker issue is one reason I’m glad my fitness studio prefers training barefoot. My feet hurt a lot less than they used to when I wore sneakers. I know some people like converse chucks for weight lifting but they don’t fit me well either.

    5. I have a number of NB from JCrew which I really like. A few years ago I bought two pairs of the Cush ones and later bought two pairs of the 247 (one is pink, one is grey with holographic N). I really find them comfortable but my feet are not narrow.

@Lynn, I looked up the ones that you mentioned, the colour combos are pretty. I saw a sold out pair that had a navy N and pink trim which I would’ve liked too. The only thing I’m not sure of is the back of the 327 that has the ‘bumps’ for lack of a better word.

    6. I also have a number of NB from JC as well - in fact they've been my running/long distance sneaker of choice for maybe 7-8 years now. I don't like the mesh ones, my feet keep slipping around the shoe when I walk fast. But the regular 247 I find to be good fitting as long as I go up 1/2 size, which was a tip given to me by a shoe salesman at the LLBean flagship in Maine. I also replace the insole with a gel insole. I've walked 118km of the Camino de Santiago in Spain wearing the 247s, and didn't get a single blister!

    7. I own several NB 520 in grey, navy and beige. Also 996 in grey. They are my fav walking sneaker. The width can vary depending on color and where you get them from (outlet versus JCrew). I had an outlet store near my previous house (joes outlet) that used to sell them at $50

    8. @eeps, I did that hike years ago in those old NB. I am a runner though and wear all types of running shoes depending on the type of surface I run on. I’ve been running on Hoka’s and now trying pairs of various On’s Cloud line. I have pronation. With regular sneakers I’m a GG, Superga and Converse fan.

  5. AW716 NEW
Relaxed-fit crisp cotton poplin shirt this shirt runs very very large. Stylist said to size down a minimum of one size. They have the measurements for this. Suggest calling before ordering. I like the rumpled look.

    1. I thought that one would work in my smaller size, it depends on the shoulders more than the bust for me. I mostly pass on oversize shirts as I look best in tapered ones, but the pink/blue striped fabric is pretty.

  6. AW 108 Gingham Sweater arrived. It’s so pretty, the vivid fuchsia is gorgeous and so soft!! The color is a tad lighter which makes it so pretty and more of an all year round color. So soft in fact I haven’t felt this type of softness in years and I mean a lot of years from Jcrew. There’s a bit of a downside, it is slightly short on me at 5’ 71/2”. It is also slightly fitted on me because I took my regular size (I’m a 34 D) but I will try a size larger to see if I get a little extra length. I will however definitely keep one of the two. Hope this helps.

    1. @Lynn, glad to hear you like the sweater. I often size up to M in fitted sweaters to get the arm length. The color and print are adorable. It should look great with ivory pants or skirt.

    2. @pbanos, thank you. Try it it’s worth it. Going into surgery shortly wish they had a full length one for wear as a nightgown.

    3. @Lynn, hope all goes well for you. When I was in the hospital so many times in 2019 I got used to the two hospital gowns style. One on forwards and one like a robe. And the socks with the vinyl smiley-face treads on the bottom. Pretty sure I still have a pair of those!

    4. @Lynn hope the surgery is in your rear view mirror and that you are lurking here so you see this. I have two friends with similar injuries (one actually broke one kneecap and then the other). I have a wealth of anectodal information. Happy to communicate directly, should you be interested.

  7. Wanted to thank all for posting about the running/sneaker experiences. I didn’t run fast enough this afternoon however. Was walking through a supermarket parking lot this afternoon with doggy in his stroller and got whacked by an elderly speeding driver. Doggy is fine thank god but to make this simple I broke my kneecap. I am so p’off, these people should not be driving period. There are so many drunk drivers around and then you have these types one has to say a lot of Hail Mary’s when you walk or drive out the door here. (Not being disrespectful) perhaps Jcrew can make a pretty trimmed device for us out here as I am certain I’m not the only one who’s had an injury to the knee, leg or ankle.

    3. Lynn, I’m so sorry that this happened to you! Thank goodness that your dog is fine and that you weren’t hurt worse although it sounds like a painful injury. Praying you’ll feel better soon. Sending hugs and positive thoughts for a quick recovery.
