Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. No visit since I’m in Texas. But I did receive everyday cashmere joggers in black from 70% off sale. Fit is tts; the cashmere is thick and soft. No itchiness at all. It’s too hot for them now, but they will be a great option when temps cool off. Also, shrimp earrings are a fun and whimsical option (70% off sale). Paired with linen button back sleeveless dress in red from a few years ago and I’ve also worn them with lobster print midi dress. Going to also try pairing with Ratti king crab linen shirt.

If you aren’t shopped out, Nordstrom is offering an extra 25% off sale (Anniversary Sale is coming too as Lyn mentioned) and matchesfashion.com and mytheresa.com are also having very good sales. If you’re updating your home, Home Goods is a gem. I picked up Huta Rogi handblown glass stakes for the flower beds and patio.

    1. Wear those shrimp earrings with the king crab shirt and a pair of clam diggers - you will be a seafood buffet!

Jealous of the cashmere joggers, you will have some cozy times in those.

    2. @pbanos LOL! You're right. You got some goodies too. I have those cotton tanks and really like them, but missed out on the earrings (sigh).

    3. @MyGoddy, what are the two handbags you posted please? Celine or Valentino or whatever? I love them both. I’m here in Capri so if they’re Italian made I would like to purchase. Thank you

    4. Hello Lyn, they're actually from Ross and cost $18.99. I'm thinking this is gonna be a no for you :).

    6. @MyGoddy, thank you. I wondered if it was going to be one of your “shock bargains” good for you. Love them!! Beautiful! I have asked a friend to check and see if they’re still available....that is if you haven’t purchased all of them for family and friends around the country:) I think we have a lot in common with shopping deals. I tend to be a cheapskate. Fortunately with higher end designer items I’m able to snag a minimum of 50% off. Others 60 or at cost. I posted a little secret last year pertaining to Monaco. There is an authorized Bijoux Jewellery boutique that sells copies of all the beautiful brands of jewelry. I’ve purchased many pieces for dirt cheap. Here’s one example Chopard Happy Face floating diamond watch for EU100 a real one would be in the thousands. They’re still working after 10 years and look so realistic. This place is like a candy store and you will have to visit one day. Anyway, I love all the jcrew items in Ratti but I’m missing the Drakes line. They have reissues in London of scarves that were even made for Jcrew. I wish Jcrew would do a reissue of the Bengal Tiger line. I only have the scarf. I missed the boat on the PJ top but have all others. Hope you enjoy your beautiful bags keep them both. 🍀 you

    7. @Lynn, I have a girlfriend who's father lives and works in Monaco, too bad I didn't know that the last time she traveled there. Don't think she'll be going again soon.

I was a fan of the Drakes line too. There's been some good pair-ups over the years, thinking of Drakes, Liberty, Stubbs-Wooton, Barbour.

      Delete
    8. @pbanos, Stubbs and Wootton has an ongoing sale in case you didn’t receive an email. As far as your friend, yes it is too bad she’s missing out on a lot for herself and you too:)

    9. I also wish for a Drake reissue. I missed out on the Birds of Paradise print, only got the flats, but desperately want the pants!

    10. @Lyn, I like “shock bargains” for sure! I hate to pay more than necessary. I’ve stopped buying designer in the US unless it’s on sale because they’re overpriced. Cheaper to wait until I’m Europe to buy. I don’t mind checking for you here if you’re interested. I can mail them to FL, hang on to them or some other option. You can DM on IG.

      Delete
    11. I also would like a Drakes re-issue. I would love the green Bengal tiger PJ top to wear with the pants! Insert big sigh of regret here!

    12. @ MyGoddy, I am so sorry I missed your kind offer a few days ago and apologize for the the delay in replying. How sweet of you. I gave up on it so again, I do hope you kept both and find some place to utilize them. Ever think about becoming a personal shopper during these COVID 19 times? You could have a little fun with them strutting around and having people approach you wondering who the designer is:) Fooled me. Thanks so much again and stay safe.

  2. Received most of the 70% items:

Beauchamp pull on linen skirt nice as anticipated. The pull on skirts from last year and this are a good fit for my hourglass shape in my
usual S. I ordered the pink. Have it paired now with last years pink and blue floral silk tank, pretty and perfect on this hot humid
day - cooler than shorts. I like the fabric, it's a softer linen.

Longline cotton tank. I ordered pink and yellow in these. Run large but I wouldn't size down from my usual S. Good staple over a sports bra, nice bright color. I wore the pink one already.

Lele Sadoughi trillium stud earrings. Sweet and light to wear. I ordered red, should have gotten both colors and extra as gifts. 20/20 hindsight.

Mens organic cotton crewneck sweater in striped garter stitch, navy and white. This is a winner, but heavy, so it's put away for late Fall. I sent one to my stepson too and he sent back a photo wearing it, all smiles. I like the texture of this, and the way it moves. Didn't even show the hubs, as he does not understand buying off season. But he expects to WFH more this fall and winter, and we keep the house cold.

Academy snake print loafer mules in black/white. Unnecessary, but they are very nice and I'm sure I will wear them. Perfect for WFH if that continues into the cooler weather, since they are so easy to slip on and off. I have the same print in block heel mules, so I knew I would like it. To keep balance, I gave a pair of shoes to my sister in law - they were lovely calf hair leopard loafers, but a bit narrow on me. I bought 1/2 size too small, but perfect for her.

All in all these were 'safe' choices for final sale since nothing is fitted.

    1. @pbanos, very nice choices. I ordered the blue silk tunic tie dyed per MyGoddy’s recommendation as well as yours last week and paid $$17.50. I also figured another way to pair the gray/rock red tipped boyfriend sweater blazer. I have the Reeds lobster sweater tee and hoping it might look nice in 6 month’s time. I have every conceivable lobster pattern items, just love them all. Just too hot to wear the heavier items where I am at the moment. Right now I’m in the Jcrew lemon motif mode knocking down a few Limoncellos😂

    2. @Lynn, hope it works out for you. I haven't worn mine as long sleeves are basically out for the next couple of weeks. Well, I have been wearing a long sleeve sun shirt and a hat when I'm outside for longer amounts of time. Hot, but easier that continually adding sunblock. But otherwise even short sleeves are not comfortable now. Sleeveless rules the day! I find dresses/skirts cooler than shorts.

      Delete
    3. @pbanos, thank you it will. My friend tried it on and it’s perfect. Fortunately I have a friend who is the same size as me and I have everything shipped to her for her to model. I look forward to wearing it and other items I have posted below. I understand about the heat and wearing certain items. I’m a less is best person:)
Enjoy it when you are able to wear it. Love the blue.

  3. I've noticed that a lot of the new rollout don't have model photos, just product photos. I understand why (pandemic) but I'm reluctant to buy just from the product photos, which don't really show fit. That's what's keeping me from buying from this prime time flash sale they're having right now. The prices seem OK, but since I can't get to a JC store in NYC to return if needed and the return window has reverted to 30 days, it's just not worth the hassle of potential returns.

    1. Same. They could at least place on a mannequin so we could have some idea what it will look like. All the more reason we should post pictures on Instagram and comment on fit and sizing.

      Delete
    2. And many pages don't show the back of an item!

      Delete
    3. Agreed! This is one of the reasons I basically stopped buying from Factory. Even they have started showing model shots, at least basic pics. With returns a hassle its hard to justtify a purchase without even seeing the back of the garment!

      Delete
    4. Agreed, can't believe they don't have photos of the back of the items, especially since JC is KNOWN for designs that are party in the front, nothing on the back. Thanks Suz for reminding me what the shopping experience is like: JC Factory. I was wondering why things for some reason looked cheaper (in quality, not price). Its amazing how attention to aspects of online shopping can alter your perception of the product.

      Delete
    5. Other stores (Lou & Grey, Asos) have pictures of models wearing the items in their own homes! I wish JC would do something like that.

  4. Happy to see the midi tee shirt dress on promo for $19.50 this morning. I picked up all three solid colors (the pink was an accident). I have been waiting for these to go on sale since I like the tee shirt dress from last year. I am not big on shorts and much prefer a dress. These are great for around the house or doing quick errands when I don't care to look as "done".

    1. I have a couple of the shorter ones that I wear to sleep in, picked up on clearance after the end of last summer. They fit better than an average T because of the seam down the back.

      Delete
    2. They are so easy to throw on. I junked up my periwinkle, so I hope this has a similar fit. They do show the beginnings of a seem down the back in the stock photo.

  5. Hello all, received some items AM 695 short sleeve cashmere cardigan in Snow and Navy. It’s very pretty and runs fairly tts although if you’re between sizes I would suggest going up. I did based on my friend is the U.S. having modeled it for me and will bring everything over soon. The snow color finally is a lot more white than before. Also received the Montauk tees in 2 sizes. One for more casual and the other to wear layered. Color and fit are tts. Still prefer last years in white/navy but will keep the blue ones. the Ratti Safari print viscose/linen tee sweater is in its way. Still have concerns about the fabric. Will post ASAP as I heard there’s a lot of interest in this. Have a nice afternoon everyone and stay safe.

    1. Oh no! That is bad news! I have shopped there before when visiting Louisville and had items shipped from there. Everyone was so nice! Anyone else hearing about store locations in their area closing?

    2. I got an email about it. They’re offering 70% off until the last day 7/26. I’m not sure if that’s full price stuff too. I was just in maybe two weeks ago when things reopened here and nobody said a word (and I’m on a first name basis with all of the employees). I’m thinking this was just as sudden for them too.

      Delete
    3. That is so sad to hear. I feel so bad for the employees as it’s probably hard to get another job right now. I wonder how many stores they’ll close.

    5. The silver lining in this is that if some of the employees were uncomfortable going back to work as infection rates are rising again, the permanent store closure means they'll be able to apply for unemployment and wait until the infections go down before they look for work.

      Delete
    6. @eeps, depending upon their state unemployment comp benefits it could be helpful but I honestly don't know how how people can possible survive in many cases. I feel so bad. If only people would wear masks and social distance etc. the numbers would go down. I'm sure you've seen Florida and what a hot mess it is. Arrogance and denial. Grateful I'm not there.

    2. @ShoppingCelle, I was told there will be some fall items on the 23rd of July and full Autumn rollout Aug. 1st. That is if they don’t change their dates again. I did notice they’re slipping a few items I already with darker colors.

      Delete
    3. @ShoppingCelle. “in”. Too many Limoncello’s 😂. I don’t know if you noticed that I posted a pairing about the Gray/Rock Res tipped sweater blazer. The Reeds Lobster sweater tee will be perfect with it.

      Delete
    4. @MmeJaqueline, and to others. The Ratti Safari Jungle Print sweater tee was delivered. It’s really cute and the colors vibrant. TTS for me and it is somewhat fitted. Suggest sizing up if you’re between sizes for this reason. I took my regular size. Mine is missing a pink elephant. Called my VPS ordered 2 more and she’s requesting a quality check for the wearhouse to grab a couple if possible. There’s one review posted about the item. I tend to agree but the quality and colors are very nice and they will be keepers either way. Nothing else has sparked my interest.

    5. @Lynn: Forgive me for not responding but I did see your post about the gray boyfriend tipped blazer with the lobster sweater. That sounds like a fabulous match.

    6. @ShoppingCelle, No worries but thank you for replying. I feel so bad for you and others that have been stuck working from home, trying to shop and then nowhere to wear your pretty outfits. It’s shameful that people are still refusing to wear masks and don’t observe social distancing and how everything is out of control. Hope you and everyone else here are safe. Take care.

    7. @Lynn: Thanks for the info. It's so nice that you have this great relationship with your VPS and are able to get updates.

  9. Received an email that everything is 40 to 70% off in store, including new arrivals. There are the typical exclusions like 3rd party and cashmere. Sale is 70% off. Promo is for stores only. Given the previous post about Louisville store closing, this seems like a sign that stores are struggling. I sure hope J Crew makes it.

    1. I’m so concerned. Jcrew is trying so hard. They have great styles this season but nobody is going anywhere or needing anything as so many are working from home. I have placed two phone orders for curbside pickup to try to support the store but many items are not in stock and I end up ordering online. Of course popback items are ordered directly or they will be out of stock by the time the store opens to check for inventory. I haven’t been in a store since mid March and since numbers just won’t slow down I have no plans on going anytime soon. I am so thankful for Alexis & this forum of J.crew loving friends to keep us all up to date.

      Delete
    2. Mygoddy I went today for the last time. They’re supposed to be open until the 26th but with the inventory they had left, I doubt they’ll make it that long. I almost feel like they knew it was the end around the time that we had our stay-at-home orders here (second week of March) as when they reopened they had basically nothing new. The Louisville store may also be a product of poor leasing center management. There’s constantly turnover of stores there big and small, so I wonder if the rent isn’t just ludicrous. It was sad, but I did end up with two pairs of New Balances at 60% with an additional 20% off. I just never thought I’d see the day where they’d close their doors here.

      Delete
    3. @Zach and Mere, This is exactly what happened 2 years ago in the Palm Beach Gardens,Fl store. This was a very high producing store and because the landlord became very greedy they pulled out after their lease was up and other high end and high volume stores as well. Greed period! I too, feel bad for employees losing their jobs and in many states Florida being an example, unemployment comp is shamefully low. Terrible. I can’t imagine how awful it must be for people out of work and then receiving mediocre benefits.

  10. OMG the shipping. My order placed 7/5. In four packages, two of which were supposed to arrive tues. No tracking updates, although yesterday one of the orders said today, it stopped tracking. every Single order. I have not had this issue with Everlane or ALex Mill.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @SuzHas, I don't know what method of shipping was involved on your orders but I do know as a fact when Mail Innovations has been used via UPS and USPS it's been a nightmare for J.Crew and customers. UPS is no problem, it's the postal service to blame. They are bad and even worse now. Not that this will help right now but they should be privatized. Italy years ago had terrible service until they privatized through the German Poste. There was a vast improvement. Federal employees are overpaid and protected the U.S. and it's nearly impossible to fire them. I'm not saying they're all bad but we had a carrier on our route in Florida who was/is a lazy jerk arrogant jerk and took his sweet time and was late on normal deliveries.I suggest getting the UPS app and signing up for MYCHOICE which is free and very good. You can track and follow your deliveries in real time. UPS has been great for me all along and no problems thankfully. Good luck to you and others, hope this helps a bit.

    1. I am signed up for all that. Oddly my Poshmark shipping which goes through USPS doesn’t have these issues. It’s basicallly JCrew and madewell.

      Delete
    2. @Lynn: Everything you said about USPS is spot on. It should be privatized. My shipping disasters all involve USPS/Mail Innovations. I have never had a problem with UPS. Those delivery people work hard, and I have always found them pleasant and courteous.

    1. That’s great to hear @Lynn! I wanted to mention to you that I finally ordered the Ratti regatta pants and really like them a lot. Even though the Cdn price was still quite high I’ll keep them since they’re selling out and I love the pattern. I ordered up one size to be safe which works as I can pull them lower or higher. Mine do not have any white in the upper area but that might be better for me. Thanks again for your help with these!

    2. @jan, I’m so happy to hear you like the Regatta pants. The colors are so beautiful and fit so nicely. I like you, also play around with the waist. Promise you will receive tons of compliments while wearing them and I’m almost certain you will be asked who the designer is. Even if you paid more they’re well worth it and you certainly get a lot of wear out of them. You could always purchase the shark tee too. I will wear it with them. Add a little spin to them. Wear them in good health and I hope you are safe in Canada.

    3. Thank you, Lynn! I hope that you are happy and healthy in Monaco. Things are going pretty well in Canada, hope that continues. I will try them with the white Montauk tee that you mentioned before and may end up with the shark tee. You’re right that the colours are lovely!

She was able to send a msg to the distribution center where they pulled 2 pink elephant Ratti Safari Print jungle tees. Also but not least the others on the team who have dealt with so much crap from customers and always maintaining their professionalism during these difficult times. These items were ordered yesterday and shipped out already UPS Ground to my neighbor. If anyone would like one of these I have them coming in small and medium. Let me know I would be happy to send them to you.

    4. I have had great experience with Bloomingdales lately and problems with Nordstrom. Bloomingdales has free shipping and returns, and everything was UPS. I don't know if that's always the case with their shipping, but I dropped off my return at the UPS store on Monday, and I received my credit yesterday (Friday). I'll probably be giving them more business.

  14. I received an email from a US JCrew store (have no idea why as I’ve never been to it) that says they’re doing private shopping sessions. You can shop before or after hours with the help of an associate and can use the fitting rooms this way as they’ll sanitizer before and after. Says they have new arrivals. Sounds nice, a good idea during this time. Hope some are able to take advantage of this.

  15. Went in to do some returns . . . nothing caught my eye, unfortunately.

This probably belongs in the vent post...but I didn't pay my minimum payment (July 4 weekend) - I thought I was all set because I had paid my balance in full in June, sent back some returns, and had just placed an order. They won't waive the late fee. Granted, it's my 3rd this year (all during the pandemic) but I've paid in full everytime. Comenity refused to waive the fee, and I called J.Crew and they won't do anything except "pass my comments." I've spent thousands of dollars over the years ... have had my card ove 10 years. I'm sad but I am going to cancel it. Don't need the headache of remembering another due date. I feel like maybe this is a sign that I should break up with J Crew!

    1. Hi Flower Power, I'm sorry that happened to you. Maybe you can try again and speak with another representative? I had an interest and late fee charged with my Gap credit card, which was issued by Comenity as well. After willing to waive the late fee, they said they "can't" waive the interest fee. I kept pushing and actually did it. If not, you can try and write on their Instagram and/or Facebook page to address your concerns.
