Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Stopped in yesterday - no % off sale (which was fairly picked over) and nothing inspiring or fresh in any way. I have many JC pieces that I love, even a few from this season, but the overall look is so dated and boring, no wonder stores are closing.
Are we ever going to see anything from some new designers?

  2. OT but I have a Gap order and a Madewell order that totally disappeared off the face of the earth. Both were supposed to have been delivered last week and were not. Gap issued a refund, i waited several days to reach out. I am waiting to contact Madewell because it was supposed to have been delivered Saturday and since then tracking is not updating. This order was sent out on 5/31 so I mean come on.

    1. Once I got a 'delivered' message from USPS and the package was not in my mailbox, though the rest of my mail was there. It did show up several days later all scratched and torn.

I've also had packages that took a grand tour of the country before coming to my house!

    2. I've had things delivered to another house on my street a few times, and have also received other peoples' packages. Maybe it will turn up?

    3. I'm expecting a package today from the Gap. It was sent on 06/04 and has made a total of 7 different stops (UPS & then to the post office). It is a backorder of one pair of undies. I keep hearing that Johnny Cash song "I've Been Everywhere" and picturing this lonely pair of panties doing a tour of the suburban post offices. :)

    4. Let us know what happens. It's so annoying. Glad it isn't something you were really anxiously awaiting!

    5. I had a Gap order go missing in January. It was supposedly delivered about 3-4 days after I placed the order, but I never saw it. Gap immediately issued a refund. About a month later, a UPS package showed up on my doorstep on a Saturday morning, which is highly unusual. It was the missing jacket, dated as when I placed the order, so it had been floating around out there for 5-6 weeks. Of course I had already re-ordered and received the replacement by that point. I took it back to the store and explained what happened about 3 times until they were able to figure out how to handle it.

    6. Post Office lies all the time, saying something was delivered when it never was. It's happening a lot more often now...sometimes the package shows up a week later, sometimes not at all. This also happens with UPS + FedEx. I had a pair of Adidas shoes disappear into thin air, despise the insistence of FedEx that it was delivered.

  3. It was a busy early summer weekend so no shopping time for me. I wore J.Crew for all of my weekend activities - several staples and a few new items which I took the tags off for the first time. Friday night for dinner I wore my 10" rise white toothpick jeans with the black cowl neck blouse and nude sandals. Saturday I wore light wash button fly jean shorts with the eyelet ruffle neck blouse and pink J.Crew new balance sneakers. Yesterday I wore my tie waist liberty Thorpe shorts with a navy vintage tee - one of my summer staple outfits.

All that to say I have a lot of good Crew classics already in my summer wardrobe so really not feeling the itch to accumulate more things - I like a few items but feel better waiting for sale right now. Will be curious to see new arrivals this week.

    1. hey Anne - how would you say those liberty Thorpe shorts run? I don't usually wear high rise style because I have a short torso, but I really love them!

    2. Hi Anne, those sound like lovely summer outfits!

    3. Hi Lauren - I think the shorts run TTS. I bought them a few summers ago when I was on the small side of an 8 and they had a bit of room. I'm a "full" 8 now...lol and they still fit. They are very high waisted and pretty short but I love them. I just bought the Tana lawn floral ones that popped back today but in a 10 because reviews say they run small so we'll see if they ship! Good luck if you decide to hunt them down :)

  4. Any Vince aficionados here could weigh in on the quality? Seems like they're struggling too and quality has dropped in the past 3 years or so? Apologies for not waiting for the appropriate message board on Other JC-like retailers.

    1. Can't speak for quality but I did read an article a few months ago saying it was likely there were going out of business...not surprising as they are grossly overpriced.

    2. Thanks RN! I like the aesthetic ... but it is somewhat pricey (the sale seems to offer some value).

    3. They get Vince in Marshalls and Tj Maxx a lot with better prices.

    4. So kind of you to share! =) I'll be sure to check them out.

    5. I got some Vince leather slides last year and really love them. The quality is excellent. But I am not seeing a lot of their stuff around this year.

Do you mean on third-party retailers?

  5. Story time! Ordered a popback silk scarf last week and used some rewards, it shipped quickly and came today. Only problem is, it’s not the scarf I ordered! Figures that’d happen on a rewards purchase. I emailed CS, but I’m taking bets for my will-I-have-to-suck-the-points pool!

    1. They should def take care of that for you. Don’t take no for an answer.

    2. If I’m being honest, I don’t hate the fake scarf lol

  6. My Josephine Liberty blouse arrived today. I ordered a 2, which is my actual size, and that’s what I’m keeping. I have very long arms and the sleeves are okay but may be a little short once washed. I’m okay with that because a 4 would be too blousy. I plan to wear it to work tomorrow with my gray Camerons.

    1. Crossing my fingers. I ordered a 4 and a 6, and I have long arms/wide shoulders too. I'm a 6 in the perfect shirt but a 4 in lots of other shirts. So we'll see!

    2. One or the other should definitely be good. I took my perfect shirt size.

    3. Ooh good to hear! Maybe it’ll pair well w my gray/white striped seersucker Camerons!
