This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
New arrivals are up, and sale section was updated with about 2000 items in women’s.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few new arrivals tops I like, but no must haves, I don’t need a 365 crepe ruffle neck top for summer and don’t really do pastels.
Stopped in this weekend for a couple of returns. Picked up Eastpak denim backpacks as gifts for a couple of my young cousins @ $5. Looked at new arrivals and wanted to see La Ligne collaboration for stripes, but nothing is showing up on website. I like the indigo floral pants and that’s about it from new arrivals. No must haves and promo wasn’t enticing enough to buy.
ReplyDeleteI love love LOVE the snake pants (Kickout crop pant in printed stretch chino) but the high rise concerns me. There must be a typo because it says 19 1/2" inches, but I hope it's not too high for me. I've been wanting a pair of snake print pants.
ReplyDeleteAlso like the Point Sur silk tunic in block print in frosted plum cove. Wish it had a collar. I always avoid these collars but will give it a shot if/when this blouse goes on sale.
Oh I didn’t see these pants. I’ll take a look. I used to have snake pants from express. I used to wear them all the time.
DeleteThose are cute but copywriter space is at it again. A 19” rise would go up to your boobs. And 28 inch inseam is not really cropped. They usually do 25” or 26.5” for tall cropped, and chinos don’t usually have traditional five pocket styling.
DeleteI’ll be checking for details on those.
I had them from Express too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI am happy about the 28" length and more concerned about the chino material. It also says they're lined?
These will actually warrant a trip to the mall.
Do you think they will actually carry them?
DeleteThey have carried items before when the site says “online only” so I think quite possibly.
DeleteSorry if I missed a prior discussion on this topic...
ReplyDeleteWhat has happened to the photos on the websites for the products that are sold out? We used to be able to see all the same photos that were used when the item was in stock. Now there's only one photo for the sold out items. (At least this is what I've been experiencing.) Sometimes I'm looking for styling ideas for an item in my closet that's now sold out. I found the old photos a handy reference because I could see what the model was wearing and what shoes were paired etc.
Maybe it helps their website run faster to reduce the number of photos shown? Sold out items seem to disappear without a trace on the Banana Republic website - at least in Canada - so I am grateful J Crew doesn't do the same so maybe I'm being greedy.
@Toronto Modern I noticed that too. I sometimes google to find photos, like you I love to see how they styled it. Also the photos for different sizes are few and far between
ReplyDeleteI bought the sleeveless snake blouse - I love my long sleeve leopard one and it will be good for the summer with white jeans and also under a suit when I do need to wear a suit to work. A lot of the more casual items I will wait for better sales. With the cooler weather we've been having, I only recently pulled out my summer stuff last weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe Tie-Waist Midi Dress in Terrazzo from Madewell is perfection. I understand why it’s constantly going out of stock. So cute and light and a wonderful fit despite my large chest- buttons don’t gaps and it’s not short-waisted.
ReplyDeleteNot interested in any of the new J. Crew arrivals. I have $25 in rewards built up and nothing to spend them on!
Received the Liberty Josephine popover. Like the print and color, but the fit is a total fail on me. The size 4 would fit, but the sleeves are ridiculously short. In the 6 the sleeves are still ridiculously short and the body also way too big. At least I know to avoid any any all popover tops, I have to have a fitted shirt.
ReplyDeleteIn better news, my husbands Ludlow suit separates arrived and they are (as expected) an excellent fit! The color is dark moss heathered Italian wool flannel. I also ordered both a silk/cotton and a merino/cotton black crew neck - we'll keep which ever one fits him better. He hasn't had a new suit in over 20 years because he doesn't wear suits at work any more. But he does need a suit for events, and this one looks great. The Ludlow slim fit is excellent for him. And a nice deal at around $200.
I also received the snake pattern low booties (not the cap-toe boots) and think they are a keeper.
Too bad about the popover. Def a hit or miss style.
DeleteMy husband was in the same predicament a few years ago and I got him ludlow suit separates as well. A navy that’s a little lighter and also a slightly textured wool that seems more summery and a more traditional black. He’s worn the navy a bunch of times and it’s really flattering on him.
Bunk that the popover was a fail. Yay for snake booties and hubby! He has some crew wardrobe!
