J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, and the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The JUNE catalog (click here to view) is still up. The latest July catalog (which is ultra thin) is not yet. As mentioned by several JCAs, J.Crew posted several images of the newest catalog over at Pinterest (click here to view).

J.Crew is still offering customers 30% off Sale and 50% off select Final Sale items with promo code HISUMMER. This offer expires June 27, 2014. It is worth mentioning that a lot of new items made it to sale. YEY!

My top pick? I am loving the Jeweled Sweatshirt in Stripe. I don't need yet another sweatshirt, let alone another with jewels. However, I will make an exception for this little number. ;)

My second pick... I am also crushing on the Bead Droplet Statement Necklace. The necklace is perfectly fresh for Summer!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. I love this rollout...finally! Just when I was about to give up.

Jersey Muscle Tee promo $17 free ship!

I couldn't pass on the new Sunglass Patio Skirt A5353 or the Hinged Triangle Necklace B2537 along with a couple muscle tees. Finally JCREW breaking out of their jewelry mold! These look like some of their Madewell pieces. Love the bracelets, too.

    1. I bought 3 muscle tees with this promo. they look very comfortable and perfect for summer! :o)

    2. How is the sizing on the Muscle tees? I am wondering if I should get my usual tee size or size down. TIA

    3. Maryeb, i reviewed the muscle tees i think 2-3 posts down from the last.
For i felt i could do both of my sizes depending what fit you desire.

    4. I feel like the run big. I usually were a small and went with an extra small. And for 17 dollars the shirts are a still. They are 27 in store after the 30% off discount and the stripe muscles are included in the promo, I went crazy and purchased in also every color because they are comfy and I knew the sizing as I had just purchased three at full price.

    5. Sorry for the typos, * meant they run big and that the shirts are a steal. Also for reference I'm 5'10". /140lbs. HTH.

  2. sadly, I don't see anything I want hitting sale yet, but I am really obsessed with a lot of the new jewelry pieces. they are certainly STATEMENT pieces, but I kind of like that gaudy chic thing.

I am slightly annoyed, though, by the Floral Pastel Statement Necklace, Petal Droplet Necklace, and Crystal Spike Necklace. The first is just a different colorway of the necklace from the fall with the same name; the second is basically a retread of the Floating Petals Necklace from the fall; and the third is only very slightly different than the Mint Spike Necklace from the fall. I've only been shopping with J. Crew for about four years, but I don't remember any other instance in which jewelry was so blatantly repetitive from season to season.

  3. Is it weird that I received the July style guide last Friday?!

    1. Anyway. Finally looked through the new arrivals. I like the sunglasses print especially on the french top swim suit, shorts, and the full skirt. The stripe silk back linen tank looks pretty interesting I wanna see how it is on me. The gauzy plaid popover that got sold out in an instant looks awesome too. The other thing I want to try is the new Elsie pumps!

  4. Honestly, summer has just started and I'm a bit over making anymore summer purchases. I have actually started buying a lot of fall sweaters and things from last season that went on super sale.

I do really like the Jeweled Painter Tee in Stripe from this roll out. I do not have any painter tees....it says slightly loose fit. Can anyone comment on these? Would you size down? I usually get a small......TIA!

    1. I don't know about the Jeweled Painter, but I bought the long sleeve Painter tee last year in my usual JC tee size, xs. It is less fitted than the Perfect fit tees. I would say 'slightly loose fit' is a good description. I love mine.

    2. Greetings Nicole - I did the same thing as you - grabbed 3 plaid shirts from last fall that went on sale earlier this summer. I now have the Garnet Flame boy shirt - so pretty, but I'll wait until it is no longer 90 degrees to wear it! Re: t-shirts, I can't comment on the Jeweled Painter Tee, but based on my experience, you may need to try a couple sizes to get it right. I am a go-to Small, which works for Vintage tees, but I size up to a Medium for Perfect Fit tees and long-sleeve Painter tees. Then I took an X-Small for the Bateau Tee in Stripe! Returns are a pain, but J.Crew sizing seems to be all over the place (at least for me).

    3. Thanks, ladies! I think I will give the small a try! :)

  5. The pom-pom tank is cute in the marine salt colorway. Just not sure how flattering it will actually be on since it looks a bit odd around the bust area on the model.

I do like the chambray workshirt in flower bud, as well as the sweatshirt tee. Those two could be potential sale purchases.

The distressed painted cargo pant and cotton cropped sweater finally showed up. It's been quite awhile since we got the first sneak peeks for them.

It's nice to see some new arrivals, but other than the two items I mentioned above, there really isn't much else I'm considering. The high temp for us today is 47 degrees, so I am not really interested in shopping for summer clothes right now.

    1. Wow Melissa, you went from one extreme to the other! Those distressed cargo pants, while controversial, are cute and I think they would be perfect for your new lifestyle & location. I love the way they are cut on the model but they would probably be a be fail on my body!

    2. Shopping Celle: You are so right! I went from a place that was scorching hot for 10 months out of the year, to one that is either freezing or quite cold 10 months out of the year. I will say that I much prefer it here though, as I really do like the cold weather. :)

I actually do not have the cargo pants on my list, as I already own the foundry pant from a couple of years ago, (which is the same pant as the current cargos minus the paint splatter), and wore them when I was painting one of the bedrooms in our house in Florida before we put it on the market. Now they are paint splattered just like the ones online. I have actually been hoping they would offer the plain foundry pant again so that I can replace my painted pair. :)

  6. I though the pom-pom tank was cute too until I zoomed in. That deep V neck won't work for me - I'd end up with a cami underneath and it's too hot for that. I liked the California poppy dress..but it's silk. Cotton makes more sense for summer sun dresses.

    1. Because I was slightly interested in the maxi dress version of the pom pom top, I tried on the actual top this morning....encouraged by the SA's, I might add. I knew it would look bad, but I'm a good sport, so I let them see it on me. I really like the embroidery and the sea salt one is not sheer ( a plus) but that's about the best I can say for it. It wasn't a deep V, but.....if you have ANY and I mean ANY extra fat in the area in front and under the arm area this top will show it all. And I don't think this is uncommon in alot of women (that IS part of the breast). It's got a very cut out arm, exposing all around the arm pit. Also it exposes bra straps. So.....no bra? I truly think that would be risque (and plain gross due to how cut-out the arm hole is) Strapless bra....a strapless bra takes the "comfy, casual" right out of this garment. So I got that dress out of my system. My store didn't get the California poppy maxi, of course I wanted to see it in person, but it got the hot pants, top and dress. Don't be fooled by J. Crew's use of short models (at least "short" for the modeling world). I'm 5'9" and the California Poppy dress is a mini dress on me. The shorts are linen and I'm really disappointed they didn't make a nice No. 2 pencil skirt or something a little longer out of the linen poppy print. It's really pretty. My store didn't get the pants either. I looked at the tank dress with the sailboat. Just like pictured online.....completely see through. Beach cover-up? Whatever. I didn't buy anything today. I just wasn't seeing anything I even wanted to try on.

  7. Lots of new arrivals reviews on my blog:
    -pom pom tank
    -Hibiskus floral dress
    -Carrie dress
    -jeweled sweatshirt
    -lace trim tank
    -embroidered gauze short and skirt

    Check it out here.

  8. I too received my July lookbook...saw one or two items of interest but not much else.

HOWEVER, Am I the only person missing the 50% off section? Not necessarily a gripe especially with the free ship promo but I am unable to see items via the quicklook button and I can't seem to find any items that are an add'l 50% off...did they disappear?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think they have removed it temporarily, as there were a number of items that were marked extra 50% off this morning but are now only 30% off, such as the fluted skirt and honeypie shirt, which came to $30 and $20 respectively. Since they marked these items down more I think the 50% off was a mistake perhaps. Thankfully I took screenshots.
Some items are showing as only 30% off, but if you put them in your cart they are 50% off. It's kind of a mess.

    2. Thank you! I thought I was going crazy for a moment.

    3. Something's messed up. I've had a shirt in my cart for a while that is final sale, but the promo only took off 30%. I chatted in and got a price adjustment, thank goodness!

  9. I also like the Patio Skirt in Sunglass print, but there's no petite offering and I'm afraid this silhouette would be too overwhelming for my frame. Wish the print came in a different skirt style!

    1. I bit and ordered the patio skirt in sunglass print even though it's not on promo (which sucks)... I love the fuller skirt style so i'm really excited to get it.

and then no more shopping... I was supposed to be on a ban :/

    2. I agree, cute print, but the skirt style is too much petites.

  10. Nothing for me again...surprise, surprise. I'll wear the same stuff as I don't find this rollout to be exciting at all!

    1. Me neither Wendy. B.O.R.I.N.G. Not one item put in my cart. It used to be, I had a hard time editing my cart after a new rollout, but not lately - so sad.

  11. I definitely don't need another pair of shoes but I really like the caged t-strap flats. I don't have anything in a navy color and these shoes are kind of like a Chloe/Valentino rockstud hybrid that I'm digging. I'm wondering if I should try and hold off on buying because they are pretty pricey but I could definitely see myself wearing them.
I also like the surf skirt in the gray tones. I find gray bottoms and dresses to be missing from my wardrobe so this would be a good addition (plus the 30% off makes the price even nicer).

  12. A few items I like from this roll-out, will consider buying when it goes on sale or if there's a promo.
Who knows if I'll even attempt to buy these items...It will probably be bumped off my cart once August rolls out end of July...J.Crew is at their best when they do fall season!

-Collection Iridescent rose top - wow, expensive. Even on sale, it would still be expensive.

-Laser cut shirt in navy - cute top. not sure if I would buy it though, since I already own the eyelet flounce in black-ole!

-Collection peach tweed top - not really a peach color wearing person, but its a cute chanel looking top.

-Distressed painted cargo pant - Darn, I wish these pants were offered w/out the lame paint splatter. I've been looking for slouchy cargos like this to wear this summer.

Disappointing the items I bought full price, are now attached with the 30%!! And of course, my size is sold out!

  13. For those interested in the paint splatter cargo pants, American Eagle has something almost identical in their clearance section for $30 right now. They run big so I sized down from my normal AE size but I really love the fit and $30 seems much more reasonable for an out-there style like paint splatter.

    1. Thanks for this, egyptomaniac - there must be some kind of %-off clearance as well, because they came down to $17.99 when I went to checkout. Ordered 2 sizes to try.. they look fun. There's also a pair of paint splattered khaki shorts for $11.99 - a lot better than the $79.50 on JC's version.

  14. Liking the pom pom top in coral (it reminds me of old Mayle, RIP that line) and the embroidered scallop dress in black. I think both of them would look really nice with a black straw Panama hat. Of course I'll wait for reviews and sale ;)

  15. I'm liking the California Poppy dress and the raffia slingbacks.

Even though the new Elsie pumps are too high for me, I notices that they have leather linings and soles, which many of us have been asking for.

    2. I am excited about the Elsie pumps too. I have been waiting for Jcrew to make a pair of pumps comparable to the Manolo BB. This pair seems to be in the right direction, with higher heels and longer length. I am on the wait list for a pair of Manolo BB in silver in my size, I hope that the Elsie will be a great alternative.

  16. The scalloped merino sweater is now 59.99 minus 50% in store!
I love this sweater, just make sure you size down!

    1. That is a great deal, Ina.
Sadly not as great a deal on-line. On-line the sweater is 79.99 and only 30% off, so it comes to 59.99.
I checked with the on-line chat person and was told Final Sale is UP TO 50% off.
$59.99 is too much to pay for this on Final Sale, IMO.

    2. I agree maryeb! It is way too much for final sale.I called online too,but they wouldnt give me the store price,so i just did a charge-ship from one of the local stores. They gave me Freeship and i payed $31!

    3. I ordered two of theses and on on the 16th....they were in the 50% off sale section that day....hmmm now they are in the 30% off again. I got a price adj for the 50% so they were $35...and not marked final sale because I do not know if they will fit me.....

  17. Off-topic, but... If anyone has been putting off purchasing the Downtown Field Jacket, now is a great time to buy -- it's on promo for $128 to which the 30% off applies, netting $89.60 with free shipping. It's a great basic to tuck away for the Fall.

  18. I liked the Tres Bien tee in the spring/summer show but am not keen on the color combo that's available. I also like the Pom Pom top but agree with others in thinking it looks difficult to wear around the chest area. I was surprised that the rollout seems so small.

  19. This is OT but if anyone is interested to know that several of the retail B&M stores started 50% off sale today but it is just select stores today. All stores will start 50% off as part of the promo on Friday. There will also be two categories of merchandise that will be on promo for Friday as well.

  20. Also, wanted to mention that the chambray embroidered tunic is now on sale in store for either $69.99 or $79.99 and then I got 50% off that. I liked it when it came out but like it even better now on sale.

  21. For anyone interested, JC @ Aventura Mall, Fl has 50% of final sales. Pretty full sale section too. I got the crepe pleated shorts in navy and black. One came at $12 and change and the other @ $17. Got the Merino v-neck sweater in black for about $15 and lastly, the floral popover in kiwi for $35 (which I think will go really well with an offwhite pencil skirt, or a gray pair of pants ..etc)
** look at your receipts:) .. the v-neck merino sweater didn't ring at discount price but I pointed out and got SA to correct the mistake **

  22. They lost me with the Collection culottes with an elasticized waist.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. These confused me. I always thought culottes were like knee-length gaucho pants. These look like too-long bermudas. Either way, if they can make almost 6-foot tall Liu Wen (in Looks We Love #2) look short/stumpy, I can't even imagine what they'd do for the rest of us!
