Extra 30%-50% Off Sale Styles at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to  many of you, who shared the following email & promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off select Sale styles and 50% off select Final Sale styles with promo code SHOPNOW. This offer expires June 17, 2014. The fine print includes:
*ONLINE: 30% OFF SALE & 50% OFF FINAL SALE. IN STORES: 40% OFF SALE. Offers valid in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from June 11, 2014, 12:01am ET through June 17, 2014, 11:59pm ET. Offers not valid in Liquor Store or Ludlow Shops; in 769 Madison Avenue, Bloor Street or J.Crew Factory stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. Offers cannot be applied to previous purchases and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. In-store discount automatically applied at the register. To redeem online, enter code SHOPNOW in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offers valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offers are subject to change.
Brick & mortar stores are still running an additional 40% Sale. Of course, all sales in stores are Final.

The good: J.Crew added a lot of new items to sale. Definitely worth checking out. Lots of merchandise too! I am liking both the Panama Hat in Two-Tone (item A8382; $65.00, now $54.00) and the Floral Deco Necklace (item A7670; $145.00, now $109.99)

The bad: A lot of items that have been there for months still have the same sale price points. An additional 50% off for an out-of-season item that I am really not that interested in, is still too much for me to pay for. I agree with many of you that J.Crew needs to reduce sale price points in addition to a percent off if they want to see the Fall/Winter merchandise move. For real.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Please share!

  1. vaguely frustrating to find that things I bought just a couple of days ago with the 40 percent off final sale are now at 50 percent off final sale. the difference in what I paid is only $30, which isn't a huge amount, but again, these pricing games are so frustrating. blergh.

  2. I was going to post the same thing! I placed a few orders over the past two weeks and several items are now 50% off vs. the 30% or 40% I paid. Not a big deal on the cheaper items but the Campbell Capri in triangle and no. 2 striped pencil are now $15 cheaper a matter of days later and still in stock in my size. Definitely frustrated by pricing games.

    1. I emailed and asked for a PA on two orders I did last week. Was quickly emailed back and credited $30 total.

    2. Guess I will try the last instead of complaining but with both the percentage off differences AND the price tag differences, it adds up. Plus one store I was at this weekend, where I love my SA, had an item on promo (not eligible for 40% off) and it was cheaper on line but on line there was not a percent off according to her BUT when I came home the "summer styles" code did work on the item. BUT it wasn't final sale so I will return them (shoes). BUT then I went to another store (did a store search for my sizes) and all the same shoes were a) cheaper like the on line prices and b) in the sale section for 40% off. AARGH get your act together JCrew.

  3. The one item that I am remotely interested in (cove floral surf dress) just hit the 50% mark. I've been trying to keep it out of my mind because I have plenty of dresses (including a few with tags on them) but this might push me over the edge. I feel so weak...and I'm also wondering if I can get it for an even cheaper price if I wait a little longer.

  4. There are a lot of new promo-priced items today, as well as new markdowns. I've updated the Promo-Priced Items & Markdowns list with the new additions: Click Here to See the Updated List.

  5. I caved and ordered the boy shirt in neon tropical in the neon flamingo color (included in the 50% off sale). I tried it in store and really liked it but it was still $59.99 less 40% off. Glad I waited. Even if it goes further down it will only be a couple of bucks less so happy with what I paid.

  6. They have to get rid of 2013 fall/winter stuff before 2014 early fall starts delivery in late August. Reminds me of being looped around the running track. My bet is a blow-out sale (e.g. more than 50% off) sometime between now and July 4th weekend. I have some classic pieces for work that I'm tracking - but not much of interest.

  7. Had to have the Downing tote in heart-perforated leather. Item A7261. Was on my wish list and super excited to see it not only on sale but 50% off too. Reminded me of the classic Borge Garveri Uptowns which I never bit on and regretted :)

    1. I saw it in store and thought it felt very thin.

    2. Thanks for the heads up. Knew there was a catch with such a deep price cut. :)

    3. I picked up the Downing tote with hearts, too! I hate heavy bags but carry a lot (workout clothes, water bottle) so this will be perfect. I'm okay with thin leather.

    4. Surprisingly, even though it's very thin and lightweight, it can hold a lot of weight. I have been using this bag daily for the past 2 months and I pack my bag so it gets heavy. It did not stretch out and the seams are holding up great. It's a great price right now!

    5. Hi! Is this on sale in store yet??

    6. SmAcKdoWn of the perforated totes, J. Crew's Downing vs. Banana Republic's Ashbury.

HollDoll129 - The perforated downing wasn't marked on sale in the store, which we know means nothing. Handbags have been 25% off and I saw the sign still up yesterday in-store. The net $64.99 online w/SHOPNOW is probably the best deal. You can always ask the store to match the online sale & promo.

    7. It was in the sale section at my store yesterday, but I didn't check the price-sorry.

    8. shopalot just shared the news that the Downing perforated is $99.99 in-store + 40% off.

      Gimme my $4.99 difference! lol

    9. I was sold at heart print. Thanks for all the reviews sound/looks like it will be perfect for errands and doubling as a diaper bag.

Tell me about it $4.99 plus 15%! Wish they offered the student/educator discount online.

  8. Hi all - I'd love to hear opinions from fellow Collection Linen Slicker fans - is it worth grabbing at this price point? It's been on my list for a long time ! TIA!

    1. amanda - I love my collection linen slicker. I wish petite had been available when I bought it in 2012. I paid $120 and it doesn't rain here very much. However, I've more than got my wear out of it. It's such an easy jacket to put on over an outfit, plus I still feel stylish. It is very thin, but it keeps the rain off. If you need serious rain gear, this wouldn't be in that group. If you want something stylish and functional for light to medium rain (if you layer under), this will do the trick. Also, the temps are mild here. If it rains, it's usually warmer, so I don't know how it performs if wind is a factor. HTH

    2. I grabbed this today at this price point! I tried it on in store earlier in the season and decided to size down. I still feel like it's a bit pricey, but it's a great neutral and such classy rain gear!

    3. I really like this Collection Linen Slicker but it's still too pricey for me at $181.99. I have a similar jacket from J. Peterman circa 1991 -- a denim fireman's coat, with huge silver fasteners. I love it still.

    4. It's a great early summer raincoat, perfect for rainy summer days. It isn't warm so if your climate is dry in the summer you won't get much wear out of it since it isn't warm enough for spring. I am wearing it non stop this season as we are having a very rainy June in NYC but I used it very little the first year when I bought it as we had a much warmer and dry season. It is very fetching though and it always gets me compliments.

    5. Okay, you convinced me. I'm getting it. :) It'd be good in foggy/misty San Francisco (our typical summer weather). And when it rains here it isn't very cold, so this would work.

      Delete
    6. Thanks for all the feedback, everyone - I went for it! I'm in the steamy South so I am thinking I can get 3 season wear ...and sounds like it is a true 'love it' piece!

    7. It doesn't sound like you need more convincing, but I echo the love for the Collection Linen Slicker. I can throw it on over jeans on the weekend and it instantly "glams" up the outfit. I've also worn it to work on drizzly warmer weather days. It's perfect because it keeps you dry but is light. It also has enough room for layering. I love the gold clasps. So chic.

    8. Big Shopper - I know SF weather and you can't go wrong w/the collection linen slicker. What's needed is a layer for the wet more than the cold. It works perfecctly and as 312JCgirl said, very chic. With the weather shifting as you travel thru microclimates or just going from wet to sunny in the same day, the jacket is great because of its lightweight. Hope the addtl commentary helps you & anyone else that might still be on the fence.

    9. This was all very helpful...I can't wait to get it! I'll admit that I have always admired it online and in store, but just couldn't get over the high price. I own the Wispy Wind Trench (anyone remember that?) and this will be a nice alternative in misty weather.

    10. For anyone concerned about the collection linen slicker's performance in colder climes, I'm in northern New England, and I've gotten a lot of use out of mine. It's not great for sustained downpours, but for drizzly days or short rain showers it's perfect!

  9. Shopping for fall;-))
Just bought the wool full length minnie in cabernet. Hoping that it ships, as in the last week I had two 'sorry, out of stock' mails.

  10. I agree with the ladies above... what the heck?! I just bought some of these items at 40% off and now it's 50% off and final sale. I think I'm going to call and complain and try to get a price adjustment.

  11. The laceshift dress went on promo,i just reviewed it yesterday on my blog.
Also the yesyes tee from Hugo Guiness comes out to 20.99 after the 30%.

  12. OT but for anyone in the NY area, the J.Crew spring and summer sample sale start June 24th until the 29th at 260 5th avenue!

  13. I would love to try and call and get a price adjustment, but I bought my items through my very personal stylist at 40 percent off with the 15 percent student discount on top of it. I called once and tried to get a price adjustment before, but was told that since I used my 15 percent, they wouldn't honor a price adjustment on top of that. pretty frustrating.

  14. One of my local stores was extra 50% off sale items as of yesterday. They happened to have 3 black wool schoolboys left, so I got one for just $65 (which I believe is the same price as online right now). Thinking ahead towards fall :) This was the first time I tried on the "new" schoolboy blazer and I have to say I really like it. I did go down one size though.

  15. I got the price adjustment! I used the live chat. He was very nice and honored it.

    4. oh yay, I just got an email confirmation that I am getting the PA! way to go, j. crew.

  17. I just called CS and received a price adjustment as well, one on an order I just received today and another on an order that's not yet arrived. Thanks a bunch for the tip ladies:)

  18. Nothing for me this time. I ordered some things during the 40% off sale the other day that were new to the sale section.

  19. I went to the Jcrew in Short Pump (Richmond, VA) today and got the black wool schoolboy for $50.99 and the Merino Scalloped sweater for $30.99. It was all 40% off and they honored my student discount. I almost bought these things online, but I'm so glad I waited to go to the b&m first!!!

I'm still less than impressed with the sale price points (and also the quality of product) Jcrew has put out these past one or two seasons. I hope that Fall will look a lot better!

  20. I emailed and got a price adjustment on 3 orders with many items. I've never had a problem when I email!
