Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  3. I need some help! I want to order the silk racer tank in floral antique. How does it fit? I am a size 4 in silk shirts and 6 in boy shirts.

Should I order a 4 or 6? Does it run big, small or TTS?

    1. I'd say probably TTS. My normal J. Crew tank top size was the right one when I tried on this top.

  6. i've been adding items to my checkout bag these past couple of days in case a promo hit this weekend - more than half of them sold out by the time i checked JCA :( i like that the trellis floral skirt is on promo and would totally have gotten that if i were less curvy :P

  7. Don't be scurrred of final sale. Shop with the Irl Pic Guide.

If shopping in-store, visit the In-Store Price Guide. The more recent notes are dated in red.

  8. Stopped at my B&M yesterday to take a look at some of the new arrivals, plenty of sale jewelry and it looked like they were running some promos on blazers and baseball caps too. They also re-organized the store to have shoes which is new. Lots of crinkle boy shirts and a cute pink embroidered lace front sweater. Lots of sparkle things, either in shirt or sweatshirt form, not sure what is new anymore since they are starting to run together in my head :-)

  9. Gigi & FFM might have already mentioned this but some sale items that end in .99 are not coming up as final sale. I got several pairs of the smartphone leather gloves to try out plus the cashmere infinity scarf in black since I totally abuse those that I got from holiday 2012. The good news is if this scarf's quality has fallen or the gloves don't work out, I can always return them. :)

    1. I'm going to try to hit up my B&M this weekend to cast an eye on the new arrivals and shift through the sale section.

    2. Let me know if you ordered the black gloves in small. They instantly sold out and I would like a pair if you want to return :(

    3. Sorry sweetie, I didn't get the black. I already have two pairs of block gloves too many.

  11. I wish I could make it to the store to pick up a linen Moonglow tee on promo, but too busy. I wonder if this will ever make it to sale online? A CSR told me they are out at the warehouse, but there are plenty left in stores....

  12. I thought that stores packed up their sale stuff weeks ago which is why we're seeing such a huge selection on the website. If I make the schlep to the store will there be any selection?

  13. cousy, was at the B&M (Chicago) on Wednesday and there was a good sized sale section. New markdowns, not the holiday stuff. Even the SA was surprised at how fast the new arrivals are being reduced.

  14. I bought jeans last week and only learned about the recycle your old jeans promo after the fact, so I'm going to try to go back to the store this wknd for a price adjustment.
As to markdowns, last week my store had a bunch of newer merchandise marked down--but some not by very much.

  15. Just came back from both Factory and Retail stores.

Factory - entire store is 50% off. My store only had the hummingbird print skirt, they expected to get the skimmers and scarf later today or tomorrow, not sure about the shoes or bag, I honestly didn't ask. Anyway, the skirt is very popular, the smaller sizes were just about gone - they actually took a skirt off the window mannequin for me. (Shout out to my Factory store, they are the best!) I found the fit to be TTS for factory pencil skirts. The material is a bit sateen and stretches. No pockets and no lining, though the waistband is reinforced. The print, as another JCA mentioned, doesn't look as crisp as the retail. I'm happy with it at 50% off, the print is unique and I love the colors. It's my Easter skirt :)
I also tried on the baseball sweater. I was so excited to see this at Factory since I missed out on the retail version. I remember in the retail version, the sleeves were a looser knit than the body of the sweater, so the sleeves were more transparent and had a different texture. The Factory version is same loose knit throughout and slightly sheer. It's ok at 50% off, but I think retail did it better. I also just wanted to put a quick plug in for the factory colorflecked popover, because it doesn't look like much on the website. I have the retail version and I love it so much. It just has the little bit of interesting detail that I think JC does so well sometimes. Anyway, the Factory version is a bit softer, the retail actually had a coarser weave, and the flecks are really well done. A white shirt with a twist :)

Retail - I actually just went in to do a return. The sale section was pretty well stocked with recent markdowns. Aside from final sale, my store also had woven tops on sale for 25% off, in case jewelry 25%, out of case bracelets 25% off. I just went through the sale section quickly but there were many side panel v-neck tipped sweaters (59.99), various tees, tipped sweatshirts (29.99), seamed motorcycle pants (89.99), etc. - prices before discount. HTH!

  18. Ooooo. I'm so excited to see new arrivals. Is the denim trade-in thing still happening?

I just got an order in from Factory: Harper double bow flats, crystal floral burst necklace and matching bracelet all in neon rose. Love, love and LOVE!!

I still need to try on the lace print sweatshirt (now clearance) and the printed teagan ruffle popover. They look super cute! Hoping to rock in Florida in less than two weeks.

  19. I went to Rockfeller Center to checkout the new arrivals. I liked a lot of stuff from this rollout but only bought a pair of chino shorts in the lovely positano blue because that's what I needed more (I know, we still have snow on the streets but spring break is around the corner). I liked the ikat dress a lot but unlike the shorts I won't have any use for it until the summer so I am going to wait and see. I really liked the cubist print: the wrap pencil is very well made (if a bit overdone, it closes like a trench, with a zipper and buttons) and flattering. I also likedcthe Campbell capri in the new print but after the abstract wave fiasco (I had a second price adjustment but I am still in shock that they are $40 versus $98 and they basically just came out) I am not buying fp. I picked up the catalog and might go back to try more stuff on.

  20. Has anyone tried the Sunburst or the Sunburst Stripe skirts yet? I have seen them in a couple of mannequin shots and they look really cute, but not sure how they fit IRL. Maybe if I get to a store this weekend I'll try one on.

    1. I tried it and it was very unflattering. If you are not uber straight and completely flat I would stay away, it adds a lot of weigth tp the mid section. Unless you plan to wear it with a long sweater over it (that could be cute, especially in the stripe).

    2. I agree. Very unflattering if you're not a waif. I'm a size 2 and just no.

    3. looks best if you have a straight body type. i'm a 00 in that skirt (but like a 2 in pencil skirts) and it made my hips look wide. have a review of it here. it's more flattering if you get the solid color, but then i think it's less special and you could get a similar one elsewhere w/o paying the JC premium.

    4. Forgot to say, i agree with Ema.It was very unflattering on me too!

    6. There is a shot of the striped one in the new style guide and it looks bad on the model too. Like she as a pouch!

    8. Thanks ladies! That's too bad because it looked really cute on the mannequins, but then again the mannequins are completely unrealistic shapes. Thanks again!

  22. I pulled out my March 2013 and March 2012 catalogs just for fun to see what they offered. 2013 was the "legs" catalog cover, with the original hummingbird print. Lots of Liberty prints, the skunk print, the Lulu Frost lips necklace, Lillian and Everly wedges. March 2012 had a green maxi skirt with a peach colored button down on the cover. The Olympia gladiator sandals and wedges were in this catalog, the canvas Tillary totes and purses, colored Toothpick jeans, printed pencil skirts (leopard, gardenshade floral, medallion and sovereign paisley), Sydney sandals, still showing bubble necklaces in this catalog. March 2012 was my favorite of the bunch, including March 2014.

  24. I visited J.Crew Factory for the 50% off everything sale. I'm disappointed they didn't stack the student discount on top of that. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for further reductions. I got the classic button down shirt in the pale blush gingham (fits TTS; love the color and fit though it was pretty sheer and thin), the swingy stretch mini in black (fits TTS), and two pairs of the 3" chino shorts (got a 00 in navy and 0 in white because when I held them up, they were exactly the same size--ridiculous!). I had ordered navy and khaki 4" chino shorts in 0 and both were ridiculously big. 0 is what I normally wear at JC/JCF!

  25. I stopped in to the outlet to check out the new Factory arrivals. As others have mentioned, the entire store was 50% off and my store was offering another 20% off for cardholders.Tried on a lot of the new items including the botanical skirt which was not a love for me. My store didn't have the pants. I ended up with the cherry excursion vest for $39 and a few button downs. Nothing crazy. All of the dresses are too short for me.

  26. I went again to my closest store and tried a few more things like the crepe pleated shorts (size down big way!) and the new jeweled tee (beautiful but crazy expensive). I have pics on Insta.
My store had the New Balance in a bright blue colorway with neon orange details that I don't see on the website (not sure if it is soldout or what). I wasn't very attracted to the other colorways but this one immediately caught my eye. They even gave me the 15% jeans discount on top of it (I think I took them by surprise with my denim because I am sure that third parties are excluded). If someone is interested in seeing them I can post a pic on Insta tomorrow morning (too dark now). HTH someone!

  27. Went to my Factory store (just outside Chicago) and half the stores in the outlet mall was shut because of a black out including J Crew (grrr). I wanted to try to the new navy tipped linen ivory "schoolboy". Ah well. I won't be able to make it tomorrow so may just order online with the 30% off. Has anybody tried that blazer? Does it fit TTS? I also went to a retail store and bought the Campbell paint in abstract wave (I love the fit the Campbell, first time trying them), suede Martina in Pale Thistle (one box was in another size was marked 129 but my size was marked 169. I thought for sure my box wasn't ticketed correctly since they are 129 online, but they actually rang up as 169. The SA gave me the 129 price), and the Sunflower necklace. All sales items were 30% off. Sales section was so so. I liked some of the new arrivals, but didn't try any of the new items on.

  29. I had my first Factory experience yesterday. I tried two sizes of about everything just to get a feel of the fit and quality. Thanks to all the positive reviews I ended up with a bunch of Claire cardigans (the Jackie always felt somewhat scratchy so I like the 100% cotton of these). I also bought the botanical print skirt. It was the only item in that print and I thought it fit well and I can definitely style it casually. I also got the eyelet pencil skirt- on the fence with this, quality just wasn't very nice. I did like the other cotton pencil skirts but really need a navy. I learned that the shorts are just not for me but the skimmer pants fit well. So all in all it was good try everything but I think I'll stick mostly to retail and factory web for well reviewed items.

  30. I went to factory this weekend hoping to grab a couple semi-casual dresses that were cute and work appropriate because the whole store was 50% off. I was so disappointed because everything I tried on was really short. Not just not passing the work test but also sit down and you can see my undies short. I often have to size down to a 2 or XS in factory so maybe that's the issue. I'm only a little over 5'7" though so I still find it ridiculous. My mom had better luck and scored the botanical print skirt and some cute tees. I ended up getting a couple necklaces instead. Their jewelry game was pretty on point, though there were pieces I liked online that weren't in the store.
