J.Crew's February Catalog Sneak Peek on Pinterest

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Slastena, Amahend, silver lining (in this post), who let us know that there are several images from the upcoming February catalog on Pinterest. (Click here for J.Crew on Pinterest.)

* Love the details on the shirt. Although, I would have to worry about my hair getting caught quite a bit. ;)
* Gorgeous coat!

* A full skirt that hits the knee?!? Wahoo!

Okay... I was a bit worried from the Spring Collection line in terms of what to expect. However, I am really excited about the upcoming new arrivals. Lots of beautiful casual pieces that I can't wait to get!

Also, word among JCAs is that the new arrivals will be available tomorrow... YEY!

What are your thoughts on the upcoming collection? Are there any pieces you are super excited about? Does your local store carry any of the new arrivals yet? If so, please share!

  2. I don't wear a lot of these colors but I must say I like the shades pictured. They say spring to me. It's been a while since I picked up anything in a J. Crew roll out. I have already had my VIP order the drapey crepe skirt. It's pictured in black, and also comes in blue grotto and navy. I ordered navy. It looks like something that will get a lot of use in my work wardrobe.

I'm dying to see all the shoes.

    1. That seems like a Desert Flower skirt. :) I want to see the shoes, too. The metallic sandals and new falsettos caught my eye.

    2. Gigi, it might be poly (the skirt), VIP didn't know for sure. I'm hoping not, though I do have a plan B. If it's poly, but it fits great and is fabulous, I'll have magical tailor put in silk lining. It only costs me about $30 (I told you she was magical) and I'll wear the skirt to death so the cost per wear will make it worth it.

I really want to see those new Falsettos too. After your review of the ankle tie style, I'm very interested in them.

    3. Hi Desert Flower - according to the catalog it is poly. Cute shape, though...I like your Plan B.

  3. I really liked that striped sweater until I found out there were elbow patches. I'm not a huge fan to begin with but it seems more fall than spring to me :-(

  4. I wanted to see the midi skirt that looks like white eyelet but it is no where.

  5. Very curious about the Perfect Shirt (not pictured here) with the wine bottles.

I'm glad about the midi skirt--Tibi makes this full skirt which is ridiculously expensive but always sells out immediately. I'm glad JCrew is making one too.

I'm curious about the fit of the new Capris. I can't wear the Cafe Capris, but would love if these new ones fit better.

  6. I saw many of the new arrivals yesterday and I am slowly posting pics on my IG account (crazyaboutjcrew). The "C'est la vie" tees were a bit of a disappointment, the baseball tee is very cute though. Thumbs up on the merino sweater in antique floral (pictured above with the denim skirt). The best of the bunch though is not in the catalog. It's a popover in an ADORABLE print with mini-baguettes, Eiffel Towers and champagne. I thought it was a Liberty shirt at first but is is regular JCrew (retails for $88). Will post pics.

    1. Yes! It's not an overpriced Liberty shirt! I can't wait for it--even if it is a popover. Do you know the style number?

    2. Yes, according to the tag it's A2470 (I didn't buy it but I took a pic of the tag). First time that I see a letter in a style #.

    3. BTW, sometimes I size in in popovers for length but this one was really big in a size up and long (fits like the Ratti popover). So TTS.

  7. I agree that the colors are pretty and say spring. I'm also happy to see a different skirt silhouette. There's nothing I have to have, though the Viv flats with bows are wishlisted for sale. :)

  8. I got the catalog yesterday in the mail. Looked for a few items (leather tote), but it's not on the site yet.

  9. I actually think the new cafe capris (campbell?) look like they could be flattering. They actually remind me of the original cafe capris which I much preferred to later versions. I also like the gold strappy flat sandals. I may give those a try. I think I have to see them in person to see if they're cute or too much.

    1. Jruby18, I am crossing my fingers that the new capris are just the old ones in disguise :D I am hoarding many pairs of the original cafe capris... they are much better on me than the newer, more tapered ones.

  10. There are some cute pieces. Looking forward to seeing items IRL and reading JCA reviews.

I don't care for the neon/pastel pages - they look very Spring 2009 to me, especially that ruffled sleeveless top.

  11. Love love love that floral skirt! Although it doesn't have a place in my current wardrobe / style, it's so nice to see something this pretty :-) Not blown away by anything else, but, as always, I have no doubt I will still be able to spend lots of $$$.

  12. Some of those photos are cracking me up. In that last one that very handsome bloke seems to be thinking, "Is my life line really that short?"

    1. He is REALLY handsome in that pensive pose though!

    2. But is that a popover? Do popovers for men even exist?

  13. Or is he "borrowing from the girls?" (Sorry for multiple posts)

    1. Too funny, Ema!! Jcrew had popovers last summer for men, that's the first time I noticed them.

    2. I remember seeing them too!

    3. Interesting! I can't imagine my husband wearing popovers!

  14. The railroad toothpicks (first pic) are very 80s IRL, they are faded around the knees area (like you have been kneeling in dust or dirt)...

    1. Soooooooooooo 80s. Maybe good for someone who didn't live through it the first time around!!

  15. Did anyone see the varsity jacket in real life? I'm interested in buying one this season--this looks similar to Rachel Zoe's but (hopefully) it's a lot cheaper!

    1. @HollDoll129 - I bought the varsity surf jacket and will be returning it. The material puts you in the mind of neoprene, which didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. What I didn't like was the fact (like most neoprene) it easily creased, especially around the zipper where you'd see the most use. The fit was, on the whole, flattering though I was annoyed the shoulders wouldn't lay completely flat due to the material.

    2. Thanks, Mel. I'll probably hold off then. Thanks for saving me a buy/return!

  16. It is so refreshing to see new items, some great colors/scenery. I'm really looking forward to spring and the new rollout makes it feel closer.
I can't say I see anything I have to have yet. Am curious about the new capris, the crepe skirt and the popover that Ema mentioned. I wanted to see the Tres Bien tee but I guess it's in a later rollout.

  17. The abstract floral print reminds me of furniture in Designing Women and Golden Girls. There's too much 80's going on here for my taste.

  18. I got an email from my VPS that new Spring arrivals arrived in store today, then ironically got another email from her about 1 hour later saying that the store was closing early due to the extreme cold. I am ready for this weather to go away.

  19. Lots of reviews of all the new arrivals, like the tees, skirts and sweatshirts on my blog here.

  20. I'm undecided as of yet. I think I'm going to have to see everything in store first. But I'm definitely not as wowed as when the december cat. came out.
