The Great (Weekly) Exchange

This post (of weekly posts) is for individual members who want to swap/sell/share among yourselves. This post is where you can mention your items and outside listing/ auction site (like eBay and eCrater & the corresponding user ID). Please note: this posting is not for resellers.

Individual members can also request in this post, items that they are looking for and interested in buying. :)

Please note that any transactions are independent of this blog. (Especially since you will be using an outside listing/ auction site like eBay or eCrater.) I have no dealings or interactions with any of the potential communication, listings, or transactions. :) Moreover, please limit comments about items to swap/sell/share to the "Great (Weekly) Exchange" posts. (Refer to "A Quick Note to J.Crew Aficionadas" post.)

Do you have any items you would like to swap/sell/share among yourselves through your outside listing/auction site? Is there an item (or items) that you are looking for and interested in purchasing?

Product Review: Lattice Cami

Lattice Cami

Item 11837
Regular: $88.00

A big "thanks!" to JaneEsq. (in this post), who shared with us her great review of this {beautiful} cami!

cami: I love this top! The color is a little less blue than it appeared in the catalogue...I would describe it as light pewter with a touch of black, a great neutral color. I love the detailing around the neckline, kind of gives off an Egyptian vibe, as well as the versatility of this top. I would wear this under a suit or going out.

The cami actually fits pretty TTS. I usually take a 2 in JC camis (Keep in mind, I'm not exactly built like Pamela Anderson here). It certainly wasn't as tent-like as the lydia or elizabeth camis. My experience with JC camis is that the fit is perfect on the shoulders and hips, but slightly blousy in the mid-section. This effect was less apparent with the lattice cami.

Just as I was rejoicing about this top, I saw a SNAG in the lower right corner of the top. Sigh. This might simply me the nature of silk habotai, but I am sending it back b/c if I am paying full price for an item, I want it to be
in perfect condition.

I hope this description helps any prospective purchasers! Have a wonderful day!

"Thanks!" again to JaneEsq. (in this post) for her review! :)

What are your thoughts on the Lattice Cami (do you like/dislike the style, design, fabric)? Are you considering or already have purchased this top? Have you seen this top in-person? If so, please share with us your reviews too! :)

J.Crew Email: New Arrivals At Crewcuts {too cute!}

J.Crew sent an email announcing new arrivals for their {adorable} Crewcuts collection, both online (click here) and in stores.

This got me thinking about all the emails J.Crew was sending during the holiday season. Sometimes they would send up to three or four emails, reminding us about the same promotion. Now, I feel that frequency has decreased. Although I do not mind not receiving multiple emails about the same promotion or offer, it makes me wonder if I am receiving all the emails they are sending. ;)

Have you been getting J.Crew's recent email promotion (some or all of them)? Do you prefer getting more emails from J.Crew or less? :)

J.Crew Rewards Card {what's the scoop?}

"Thanks!" to Smarty who suggested a {great} post topic: J.Crew's credit card and reward points. Smarty raised a lot of great questions for the post, including:
  • Have cardholders received their most recent rewards card yet?
    Smarty mentioned that "in the last couple of threads, there have been murmurs about JC Card rewards points. Seems like the "winter 2008" have been "processed" (because accts are showing no or low points)"
  • Do rewards points roll over from one cycle to the next?
  • What are the benefits of the card? Any *new* benefits?
  • How do current card members reach the "silver" status? What are the benefits of being "silver" with J.Crew?
If you are a J.Crew card member, do you know the answers to any of the questions above? If so, please share! :) Also, feel free to add any other additional information you think may be useful for another J.Crew Aficionada and Aficionado. Would you recommend opening a J.Crew credit card? ("Thanks!" in advance!) :)

Interview With J.Crew's Executives {fascinating!}

A big "thanks!' to Jordan who was kind enough to share with us two {fantastic} videos containing interviews with J.Crew's upper echelon.

J.Crew: The Business of Style
Creative Director Jenna Lyons discusses the iconic brand and its inspiration
Click here for video link
Length: 5 min 20 sec

J.Crew: The Business of Style (Part II)
Tracy Gardner discusses the iconic brand and its inspiration
Click here for video link
Length: 6 min 58 sec

L-o-v-e-s it!
There is such a wealth of information shared in these interviews, as they cover an array of topics: the current economic times (how to bring "it back to full price"), J.Crew's strategy, Mickey Drexler, Michelle Obama, wedding line, accessories & jewelry, Madewell, the website issues, and so much more.

And how great does Tracy look with the Berry-trim Astrid jacket in Charcoal (Item 96309; was $248.00, now $169.99- $99.99)? ;)

What are your thoughts on the videos? Do you agree or disagree with any of the points made? For example, do you agree with the best sellers listed (e.g. jewelry, corduroys, wedding line)?

Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the post holiday sales, the additional 20%-30 off sales, or to see some new January/ Resort arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

J.Crew Email: Beads, Please + Free Shipping

J.Crew sent an email featuring the Glass-bead ribbon necklace (Item 11487, $55.00), as well as the Stone-bead ribbon necklace (Item 11488, $55.00). I have seen these necklaces at their stores, and everytime I think they look absolutely lovely (in all the shades too)! The only concern I have is the weight of the necklace- they seem a bit heavy to wear. But since I have not tried one on, I am not sure if this is something to be concerned about.

The email also reminds us (1) about their final sale and (2) that they are offering free shipping with promotion code FREESHIP09. This offer expires 1/11/08.

I am very tempted to get a few things with the new promo code, especially since a lot of items have been newly reduced in price. However, I am holding off (for now) since I have a lot of items I have purchased during the holidays that I have yet to wear. ;)

What are your thoughts on the ribbon necklace? If you own or have tried on these necklaces, please share with us your review. :) Moreover, have you been taking advantage of the latest promotion code? If so, what new items did you get? :)

J.Crew's New Silk Annie Cami {pretty!}

"Thanks!" to Spring Forward (in this post) who let us know that the February issue of Cookie Magazine had J.Crew's newest cami: the Silk Annie Cami for $88. Ever since she mentioned the new cami, I have searched for it online and came up with nothing.

Luckily for us, Slastena was nice enough to share the page from Cookie magazine with J.Crew's new Silk Annie Cami (click here or the image above for a closer look), over at her {wonderful} blog (click here for her post where the above image was taken from). "Thanks!" Slastena for scanning, posting, and sharing! :)

The Silk Annie Cami is not yet available on JCrew.com, but is expected to be a part of the upcoming Spring 2009 collection. I like the new cami, especially since it is a button down all the way (which is convenient when dressing). But truth be told, I like the collars on both the Silk Elizabeth Halter (Item 95001; was $89.50, now $59.99) and the Victoria Ruffle Cami (Item 99742; $88.00, select colors: $59.99) a lot more. (I think this is because I love ruffles.)

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's new Silk Annie Cami? Do you think it will be as successful as the Silk Elizabeth Halter
or the Victoria ruffle cami?
