Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. OT but Everlane released new chinos today. I'm not sure how exactly they differ from the existing ones aside from subtle variations in fabric and details.

There is a straight leg chino they say is supposed to be softer and sllouchier than their straight leg crop, and a wide leg crop that's cleaner looking, no big back pockets, waist darting and teeny little front pockets so a sleeker look.

I don't see inseam info online for either but if I had a store near me I'd def try them. The wide leg ones look more like Kamm pants than other wide leg crop previous version with the pockets, similar to the Madewell Emmett (formerly Langford) wide leg crops with a slightly less wide leg.

Pricing at $68 is fair considering how much the Madewell and Jcrew ones are at full price.

    1. I cannot get behind pants that pull at the crotch even when modeled on the website. Does not bode well for reality, in my opinion.

    2. I'm really curious about the wide leg ones, I like how the light blue looks on the model. Very sleek, but not tight. The crotch pulling...I can't understand how that passes and gets posted. At least for the website size up and pin where needed.

  2. I bit and bought the Midi wrap dress in all-over eyelet in navy. With the 40% off and then additional 10% with the card and some rewards money, I didn't think I would get it much cheaper. Backordered for now so I'll report back when it ships.

I have another item that's backordered until June. I think I ordered it in January. I might just cancel it.

Otherwise, 3 bags of clothes and shoes are being shipped off to good will today.

  3. OT: I sent a box of unwanted clothes to Thredup in late January. I’ve heard terrible things about the company so I only included items I would have otherwise dropped off at Goodwill or thrown in the trash. I included several items I previously listed on Poshmark that didn’t sell. I had low expectations, but I thought anything I received would be a bonus. I was quite pleased when they finally processed my box and accepted 71% of the items (average is 40%). They offered me $36 upfront or $72 when the items sell. I accepted the $36 but was surprised to see that most of the items sold within a couple days. How can Thredup sell with their terrible pictures and lame descriptions when I was unable to sell those same items for a lower price on Poshmark with detailed descriptions and photos?

    1. I think it is because you can return things even if the restocking fees are annoying. Half the time I bought because of an incorrect description. I found the more I sent over time, the less they offered me, maybe it was a coincidence but I stopped selling to them altogether.

    2. I had the same experience with them offering less the more times I sent them items...

    3. Interesting. I have a few items that haven't sold on Poshmark either. Maybe I should just send them off to get them out of my hair.
I have no idea how anyone can buy from them with those terrible pics!
What brands did you send or was it a mix?

    4. I had very low expectations and I only sent things I would have otherwise donated or tossed, so I’m happy with what they offered. However, I wouldn’t trust them with high end or designer items. I didn’t make a list of what I included, but I recall Gap chinos, Old Navy shorts, Paige jeans that I bought at a thrift store, a couple Life is Good tees, some ancient Lands’ End sweaters, and a J.Crew shirt jacket and denim shirt. I may use them again eventually to dispose of things that don’t sell on Poshmark.

    5. That is exactly what I was thinking. Just stuff that hasn't sold that I'm sick of storing.

  4. Just wanted to thank everybody for the nice comments on my loss.
I am slowly trying to get my life back and the kids adjusted.
Appreciate all the thoughts and prayers!
Not sure how my professional life will change.
Next week is rollout for April.

    3. Ina, thinking of you and your family. I lost my husband suddenly just over a year ago so please send me a message if you'd like to talk. I've found it helpful to talk about very specific details with others who have gone through it. christinaablaza@hotmail.com

  5. Does the Daily Deal load more than the first page with shirts for anyone? It says there are four pages. I've tried safari, chrome, internet explorer and edge...

    1. Not for me either. I can't view all on one page or can't get beyond page 1.
