This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!

ReplyDeleteI received the gray Liberty collar Tippi and the diagonal stripe s/s merino sweater today. Tippi is cuter than I expected and the colors work with my wardrobe so keeping. Merino sweater fits and looks fine, but without the watching skirt I’m at a loss for styling. I tried on with navy Minnies and it looked cute but a basic outfit. The particular shades of pink and teal are hard to match - other than navy pants/skirts I have no bottoms to match. Should I keep?
ReplyDeleteWould it work with white?
DeleteIt could but I own no white bottoms due to clumsiness
DeleteOh I had to check. That’s a tough one. The top alone is so graphic I think the solid bottoms would be the way to go, you could always add a pop of color with your shoes where they wouldn’t need to match perfectly. Or add a necklace or smaller scale print scarf/bandana in coordinating colors.
DeleteI agree. Still on the fence about keeping bc of the limitations of the bottom!

ReplyDeleteI received a few items from the 50% sale today.
ReplyDelete1. Silk lady blouse with shoulder buttons L1550: This is navy with white trim. It is an unusual design, and possibly a keeper for me. It is awkward to do up the buttons. I ordered a 6 but am going to try a 4, though I fear that will be narrow in the shoulders. Although it has darts, the body is not fitted.
2.Sheath dress in leopard bi-stretch cotton J5876: This is a nice darker animal print, and looks good with a black jacket. I can be a hard fit in a dress since my shoulders are large and my waist is smaller. The 6 was too large in the skirt, so I am going to try a 4. Crossing my fingers. The upper back also seemed large, which is unusual for me.
3. Garment-dyed crewneck sweatshirt K3152: This was a midnight madness 75% off. I ordered the fuschia. I went with M so it would be roomy to wear around the house with pyjamas, but am going to try a S.
4. Tissue turtleneck in leopard print. In S, a perfect layer for under my natural color cashmere lace up sweater. I'd ordered it and then had the price adjusted to the 50% off sale, so it came to about $7, thanks J Crew.
