Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. I’ll be stopping by tonight for returns of nearly everything I ordered in Past two weeks. I posted this in the reviews post:

    eeps.March 28, 2019 at 9:06 PM
I received the liberty mayapple sheath dress. I took the bigger of my dress size and didn’t need to. The fit didn’t do me any favors - and the print was more mature than I expected. Will be returning. Mayapple print looks way better onscreen IMO.

    1. Hi eeps - I got mine too. Bummed that the print is not as bright as it appears online. I do not like the inside-out darts on the front and back. Why? Is this a real design thing, or a production error? Paging resident seamstress Anthro Blogger (and finishing expert WFF as well)!

      Delete
    2. Yes! I also thought the inside-out darts were weird. At first I thought it was an error and then I realized it's part of the dress design. I don't think they do anything for the dress.

  3. I have impulse returns/exchanges.

I bought Sleeveless mockneck smocked top in splatter floral. I like the idea of it but it's a little big in my usual size so I'd like to see what a smaller size fits like.

I'm also waiting for the Button-front linen midi dress in faded indigo stripe... Which I bought in two sizes so at least one of them has to go back. Maybe I'll just hop into NYC and return there to give my usual store a break.

    1. I have the mockneck smocked top in the falling floral from last summer. I like it! I don’t remember which size I got but it is a little loose at the hips. That type of floral is a little different for me but I think it’s cute.

    2. I have one of the other floral prints in this top and I ended up going with the tall. I'm usually a 6 in blouses and took a 4T in the version I have which was perfect. The regular 6 was too big but the 4 was too short.

  4. Use all of the promo codes including retailmenot plus the new additional 10% off. Excellent deals! If you have a problem call CS immediately and they will adjust prices for you.

    2. Whats the new additional ten percent off? CARDLOVE is 50+ 20 and then the retailmenot.

    4. @Lynn Both colors of your cashmere throw are in stock right now in sale section in case you didn’t see them.

Cardlove is actually 25% now. I received price adjustments on my orders.

    5. A 10% additional email came in no code. She gave me an additional 10% for yesterday’s purchases! Scout around on the website put some items in your basket then empty the basket. The old algorithm story must be at work. Good luck

    6. CARDLOVE is now 25 off. Checking on what I didn’t buy and seeing if the prices change.

    7. @Mygoddy, thanks I was able to grab them earlier and received additional price adjustments. Thanks again.

    8. So weird. I had the linen T-shirt’s in my cart last night and they are still 50percent off but the total is coming in more$$$. Last week I ordered the white slingbacks (due to arrive today) and they were 50off but today they’re full price.

    9. Is there a trick to get the spring and cardlove codes to combine or are people just calling for PAs? if you do cardlove on it's own it just gives the 25% and then the 10% for the retailmenotcode.

      Delete
    10. Agreed. It’s really frustrating. I noticed on IG people are complaining too.

    11. @Lynn Glad you found the cashmere throws!

    12. @Ina, Thanks Ina this was nerve wracking:) Have a nice weekend and hope to meet you one day next time I’m in Atlanta.

  5. This pricing story is absolutely insane. As I posted earlier I received even more adjustments on the 50% off promo, Retailmenot, CARDLOVE the additional 10% off. You have to play around with the codes however. I take screenshots for reference it’s nuts!!!

    1. I have to look in my emails. I don’t see an additional ten percent off. The games drive me nuts

  7. Just wanted to mention again for Atlanta JCA’s:
“Spring forward with Ina” at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta 12-4 pm on saturday.

  8. Another sad review. I received the white slingback pumps. The positives, they look ok on the feet and the heel is interesting. The negatives: they run small, my larger size barely fits. The toe shape is blah, the leather looks cheap. I snagged them last week at 50 off and I wouldn’t pay even as much as I did.
My white pump experiment has failed thus far. The only ones I love are the Everlane at $145, and those are a little more casual.
    Oh well, more money saved.

  9. Is the 10% code customer specific? I placed an obscene amount of orders this past week. I used Cardlove and the Retailmenot code and ended up getting 40% off all, plus 20% plus 15%. Is it worth it for me to try for a price adjustment to get the 25% Cardlove and that 10% (If its not customer specific as I didn't get an email) or will they do anything?

    ReplyDelete

    1. When I called for price adjustments, they gave me the extra 10% off on all the orders with cardlove but not if it had the retailmenot code, too. I also got the price adjustment from 20% to 25% on most of the orders. It's hard to find a rhyme or reason to how all the codes are added, but I'll take the ridiculously good prices and play the game!

    2. Depends on who you speak with. I ordered a cashmere cardigan to gift to someone. 50% off, 25% off, 15% off and then 10% off. Total $36.72 plus tax.
This by the way was the Dazzling Sun. It is hit or miss with CS. The new Silk Tiger Print blouse arrived from the store I was raving about earlier. This is a first , thrown into a plastic bag not folded or wrapped with tissue paper. Not happy about how it was packaged but I complained directly to CS and they gave me another percentage off. $40.28 total paid. Pays to complain if an item ships in a poor state:)

  10. I have a few orders to return and I'll be near the mall tomorrow so will probably stop by for returns. I'm returning the long sweater coat I mentioned the other day and the point sur hightower straight jeans in frosted indigo. I wanted a non-distressed lighter wash pair of jeans but I don't totally sold on the wash. I have one more order arriving today so I can see what else I'm keeping.

  11. Enjoying the long-awaited sunshine and some old J Crew items favorites today: Michael De Feo for J Crew striped t-shirt with painted flowers (G1410), denim swing jacket in lily (H5597) and J Crew New Balance E8043 in navy blue salmon.

  12. I did visit the store tonight for returns. Sale was no additional percentage off. There was info at the register about the extra 25 for cardholders. Some items were 30 percent off.

Really absolutely nothing I like although the deep green rainjacket is a nice color.

  13. Everlane has a new wide leg denim “crop” being released. It looks like the Madewell Emmett or JesseKamm sailor pant. I haven’t tried the Madewell denim Emmett but I found the colored ones don’t work as well on me as the previous Langford version. Kamm pants are close to $400 so not in my budget. Everlane pants are moderately priced (less than Madewell list price) so I’m definitely considering trying them.

  14. I will visit tomorrow with my largest return ever. I am between sizes on top and ordered duplicates in some items. Also a couple of sale item fails: I ordered the Denim collarless trench coat K9859 in small hoping it was unusual and cute. But just unusual on me, cute did not happen. My husband said it looked a bit like a butchers smock. Also a sweater I have been trying to get for a long time:Tie-neck short-sleeve sweater in everyday cashmere J1319
I ordered up a size based on reviews, but it is still skimpy and not flattering. Also returning the navy and ivory silk Lady blouse. The asymetrical stripe and white collar is neat, but the shape does not work for my wide shouldered hourglass. I would have needed my larger size 6, the 4 was too short everywhere.
The 6 I received also had makeup on the collar. This is certainly not the first time I have seen a new garment ruined with makeup or perfume, what a pity.

Keepers in my smaller size: Sheath dress in leopard bi-stretch cotton J5876 and Tall officer patch-pocket wide-leg pant in stretch twill L0063. The officer pants are nice, and I was lucky to catch them when discounts were applying, so they were 50% off. Later in the year when they are 80% off I will probably wonder why I did not just wait. The leopard sheath must run large, since I am keeping the 4. It is a close fit on top, but not pulling anywhere. The 6 was too big everywhere, especially the hips.

Last week a pair of SeaVees velvet sneakers popped up at +80% off, so I bought them. Then today the spring code was applied as an adjustment, so they were under $12.

  15. I can’t get the codes to stack any longer- anyone else?

    1. I couldn’t either, so I used what I could, then emailed customer service for a price adjustment. I’m waiting to hear back, but CS is generally accommodating.

  16. MBaker let me know what you hear back if you will. I used spring and the retailmenot code but cardlove wouldn’t work and CS via fb messenger told me it doesn’t stack with spring code

  17. I didn't make it to the mall today but the last of my recent orders showed up - black cowl neck blouse, dolman sleeve dress, Liberty wrap skirt and jungle print wide leg pants. The blouse is pretty and will be a great basic - took a small (usually 6 up top) and that's perfect. It's a higher neck cowl and not terribly big so it lays well and I think it'll be a good summer top with jeans for going out to dinner, etc. For $14 it's a keeper. The pants are going back - they are cute but I am not sure I'll wear them that much even for $20. The sweater dress I like a lot - took a medium - top is loose but not sloppy and the dolman sleeve is not overly large. the skirt is definitely form fitting on me and I'll probably wear tights to smooth me out. Probably past the point of wearing it this year but I'll tuck away for next year. It's a cotton/merino/nylon blend. Lastly the Liberty skirt - took an 8 which is my regular pant/skirt size and that was perfect. Hits at my knees and the wrap is a faux wrap so it stays in place. The tie is a little odd - it ties in the back - I wish it were a little longer to wrap around the front. It's a keeper though and I think it'll look cute with tights and booties until it warms up and definitely a chambray or several different colors of Tippis I own and a denim jacket. The lining is navy.

    1. Thanks for the reviews. I missed out on the sweater dress & am glad you like yours!

    2. Thanks for the Liberty skirt review! I didn’t realize the tie is in the back. That’s unusual for a wrap style. I’m not a fan of bow backs at the waist because I feel like I have a tail.

  18. I made it to the store yesterday. The new linen sweaters are a great disappointment. The yarns on sweaters are uneven and look like giant pills all over the sweater. The sweaters is a bit scratchy. V-neck t shirts are too low cut for me - my bra can be seen. Silk shirt in tiger print is amazing.

    1. OMG I noticed that about the sweaters. I saw the lavender hanging up and I wasn’t sure it if was part of the knit or what but it doesn’t look like it would last well.

    2. Linen sweaters are also very bra sensitive. I like minimizer type of bras (Freya/Fantasie brands) and they are not super smooth but not too bad either so sweaters show those little bumps.

    1. Well after my last rant a couple of hours ago I spoke with another vps and she was able to locate one. Just one. She called the store, they pulled it and are shipping tomorrow. I called the store to verify that they indeed pulled it, charged my card etc. and all is ok. One is better than none, but will keep the others. Grateful for the effort she made for me.

    4. Lynn, I’m looking for a cleaner style, more like the Emmett, which didn’t fit me well. I have the Point Sur wide leg crops that I let down the hem on which work ok but I realize in this style I need a super high rise.

  21. Stopped at Short Hills with a large # of returns. The store was busy. We were lucky and did not wait long, but when we left the line was at least 10/12 people waiting on 4 registers. As planned I left empty handed.

  22. I received the Long-sleeve striped dress G7980 in navy gold green and rose. It is surprisingly well fitting for a jersey dress. The sleeves are a bit narrow on me in the 4, but the rest is a great fit. If I went to a 6 it would be too wide in the hips. On my 5'7" is is a little below the knee. The stripes match up and the seaming makes it shapely. Keeper! One of the rare dresses that fits an hourglass shape.

  23. I didn't make it to the store this weekend, but in a moment of 1AM insomnia-induced weakness, I bought a few tops last night. The Collection tuxedo-front silk tunic in stripe, which has been on my wishlist, was selling out in many sizes, so I bit. But by light of day, I am thinking it was still a bit pricey (95$) despite promos, so it better be good! Have any JCA's seen it in person or tried it on? There were no reviews despite the fact that it is selling out. I envision pairing it with a black pencil skirt, or some black or white cigarette pants, but it looks nice on the model with wide leg pants too.

I also bought some lower-price, lower stakes items: the Saluti tee, slim perfect tee, and the sheer button-front ruffle blouse with built-in cami in ivory, in preparation for summer...
