J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. A few new items are up on the site (but only a handful) including a gorgeous wrap skirt in cream, gray, and yellow that will have to make its way to my closet. It’s gorgeous but I want to buy soon because I only wear wrap items with tights. Funny that I’m wearing the French floral wrap skirt today (don’t remember the proper name).

    1. That color and print is prettier than the navy/burgundy. Description says satin crepe, but product description says fabric is linen/poly. Once you receive it, please let us know about the fabric.

    2. I guess this means Collection is still around. I thought because of all of the changes that it was pretty much over. Once and awhile an item pops up, usually a skirt.

    3. Some of the liberty prints are really nice and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out next week. Seeing the shepherdly puff sleeve blouse is searchable now although it's not on promo, and a new pink liberty print. I haven't placed an order in months but that might change soon. Would like J. Crew to continue these new liberty prints but also focus on other areas as well.

  2. I just placed an order for the Collection wrap skirt L3863 in the Blockcorner Oyster Gray with the yellow.I really don’t like the way the model was photographed in this color all hunched over etc. It looked much nicer on the model wearing the blue pattern. It’s being overnighted so I will post as soon as it arrives. Beautiful colors and pattern. Cautiously optimistic about the material and fit. Ordered an xs. I was able to use THE CARD promo which is working until the 14th so take advantage everyone while it’s still available.

    3. @jan, you’re most welcome and thank you. I hope it does work and that many of us that may or may not have ordered are not disappointed.

  3. when I went to the JC site earlier, the index column to the left on the home page included “preview - cardholders only.” Naturally I clicked, the site apologized, and sent me back to the home page - from which the “preview” had disappeared. did anyone get an email with a preview link?

  4. I received the Liberty Pavilion black floral tiered midi skirt and ruffle neck top in the mail yesterday. I’m keeping them only because I got a great deal and paid much of the rest with rewards points, which I would likely lose it I returned them. I planned to wear the pieces together as a 2 piece dress, but that’s not happening unless I have a square dance to attend. Hopefully I can tone down the look by partnering the ruffles with very plain, simple pieces.

    1. @Jeanne, sorry it didn’t work out but your review is not only fair but hilarious! The sleeveless top in both patterns is cut in such a ridiculous way. I found the arm holes to be huge on me. I went with the Flora Belle with sleeves and love it. Good luck pairing the skirt. You’re idea about pairing with simple pieces is what I would do as well.

    2. Agree with you both. Returned the Liberty Pavilion ruffle neck top yesterday. Looked awful on me. The arm holes cut too deeply and the back view looked almost like a racer back. Really disappointed as I love the print and there is no other top option. There is a new Tippi on the website with a Liberty collar - navy with the Kyoko print collar (same as the bucket hat).

    3. Oh dear, Jeanne, sounds disappointing! But thanks for the laugh and the warning. FWIW I once bought a RL top and skirt with the dress idea in mind, but despite living the print, I only ever wear them as separates. It’s a lovely print so hopefully you can make it all work.

    4. @shopalot, I took two of duplicate long silk tie scarfs in the old lemon pattern and had my tailor modify them and made into a collar for a Tippi. Adds some pizzaz. I’m waiting for the finished product. Not sure if he had to use both. If not, I will continue to use the other one around my neck.

    6. Yes, the square dance comment made me LOL! I'm not a fan of the design extras (ruffled necklines, tiered skirts) when the print is already busy. I prefer the shell and plain midi skirt in the Symphony print (see avatar) from last year.
