Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

    1. Yeah! I like the rose gold oxfords and Reed buffalo check sweater jacket. Also, glad to see Collection cable knit cashmere sweater offered in more colors. Have the camel & love it. Adding navy to my list. There’s some cute sweaters, but they’re blends, so I’m gonna pass.

    4. I love sweater jackets/sweater coats/coatigans/whatever and I like the Fair Isle one so that I can have my Shelley Duvall/The Shining moment. The description says it has pockets but I don’t see anything that looks like a pocket in the pictures. I also like the buffalo check Reeds sweater jacket but the colors are confusing - they say “Red Navy” and the model pics kind of look like red and navy, but the item pics look more like cobalt and JC’s “modern red” which I just cannot do. Somebody let me know if you see this IRL!

    5. @Ina Mack Yeah! Glad you ordered! I did too with the new promo and a 15% off coupon. Hope it’s a nice sweater jacket.

  2. Lots of cute stuff, but I question the utility of velvet swimwear!

  3. I got some more info on all the rollouts this month.
Like i said this week is rollout, but it doesnt contain any of the holiday pieces.
Next week is “gift” week and then the following week is another rollout (so one every week before Thanksgiving) and i assume the third one will contain the more holiday items.
    HTH

    1. Thanks Ina! I was wondering about the holiday items since the pieces I saw on IG weren’t included.

    2. interesting. usually roll out is Tuesdays if I am not mistaken. now Mondays. a roll out every week up until US Thanksgiving (and Black Friday) I hope they have a good promo this year. the past few yrs I have found other retailers promos better.
FYI ... beware J Crew swim that was released this summer. no wonder it is priced to sell. the fit and quality is low.\
I received two suits...I wanted to return them. CS credited me back for them and told me to "donate them" They said the cost of returning / was a neg $ for them.

    3. That's fun, I'm actually excited for rollouts for a change! Thanks Ina.

  4. I wonder how many people just gave up on placing orders over the past week due to the website malfunctioning? I finally placed one order yesterday morning after 30 frustrating minutes. Went back later in the evening and was set to place another order but too many issues and the cardperks code wasn’t combining correctly. I just abandon my cart. The sad thing is the order placed was mostly summer stuff that won’t get worn until next year and I also fully anticipate over half will be returned due to fit or quality.

    1. Yup. I can’t get more than 3 pages of sale to load before the whole site crashes. I’ve just given up browsing multiple times.

    2. The site crashed at least 20 times for me, on all devices including phone, tablet and desktop computer. Never seen anything like it. Needless to say, I gave up and saved my $$$.

    3. It was working ok for me earlier this morning, but now it's down again. What's up with all the J.Crew website issues? This has been an ongoing problem for YEARS. Why haven't they fired their incompetent IT staff and hired people who can actually do the job? I don't get it.

    4. I've placed 3 orders over the last week and they've all gone through no problem. I wonder if this could be related to a certain browser or something like that?

    5. (I think I just had lucky timing, sounds like people have accessed the site a variety of ways)

    1. wow, good eye Tiffany! And it's only $6.80 after code cardperks. I may have to order one before they catch the error. :)

    2. It's a size difference - the regular sized everyday totes are $8 and the large ones (which are huge, IMO) are $18. The plaid one is cute, and they're nice and sturdy.

    3. Ah, that's it! Still, that steward plaid one is so cute and retro.

  6. Canadian prices are really high this roll out IMO. this will not go over well. I can't see myself paying full price for any of these new items.all these items. at a promo price maybe (at least I would try them )...but no promo on new arrivals this time.
I have not been a fan of Point Sur. happy to see only afew new pieces of this brand this time around. It should be at Madewell IMO.
The new Reed pieces...being Canadian they remind me of ski holidays and I am not /nor will be on any...so pass. that is a heck of alot of fair isle sweaters to sell IMO.
More word tees and sweatshirts. Hollywood? really. ick!
\They continue to roll out more swim wear...I wish I could say the same about handbags. not loving the Sherpa ones. mini sparkly ones are pretty.
See they are recycling more items from last year. lace pin tuck skirt/pants/ lace tops/ pjs. (Those candy ones...are pretty bold!) fancy pants tee ...but no fancy pants? bummer.
nothing for me this time around. hoping for more soon...
and a full price promo code....

  7. I ordered two of the reeds sweaters because I fell in love with them when I saw them on Instagram. I was hoping for what I think are Marties in black watch plaid but I didn't see them.

    1. just read the body length of some of the Reed sweater.they range from 21.5 inches- 24 inches . this would be cropped on me for sure (chest size C ) so I will have a look when i see them in store. but I am probably s"sitting " these sweaters out . darn

    2. cotton tee shirt with small sequin flowers. Canadian $ 80.50. Wow...one pricy tee shirt !

  8. I like some of the sweaters but disappointed to see nylon and acrylic in almost all of them. Also, why are they just recycling last year's styles? The pleated lace top, pencil skirt with bows and lace tops are all repeats from last year.

lol on the velvet swimwear - waterproof or not, the thought of lying on a beach in hot, humid weather in velvet swimwear is not appealing.

  9. This is the nicest rollout I've seen in over a year. A variety of things in different styles - some holiday, some classic J. Crew, and some more new stuff which I actually don't mind (like Point Sur). Prices are higher so I will be tracking promos more closely than usual.

  10. I liked the idea of Point Sur when it was made in the US, but that's not the case anymore. Continuing to use the name seems disingenuous, since I'm sure there are people who haven't noticed the fine print about the line no longer being manufactured here.

  11. I wish everything I wanted wasn't excluded from the promo, did pick up the a line wool skirt yesterday but it is backordered until Nov 26 🤨

  12. I guess I'm in the minority because I'm not impressed with the new arrivals. The cheap synthetic blend sweaters are a huge disappointment. I like the rose gold oxfords, but I already have way more oxfords than I'll ever wear, so I'd only buy on deep discount. Other than that, I don't see a single thing I want.

    1. agree. I goggled "patent leather" because i am not a big fan. looks like it is leather coated in plastic or resin. they can use lower quality leather for items as well. read newer patent leather is not as good as the old days. ei it can easily mark and scuff.
wish they would stick to higher quality all around. less acrylic and blends in sweaters.

    2. I agree with you Jeanne. The only item that was interesting to me was the crewneck sweater with jeweled buttons but as soon as I saw it was Nylon it became a big no. Why can't they go back to high quality fabrics and wools?

      Delete
    3. I agree as well. The majority of the sweaters I liked were hideous blends when I clicked on them. When the first fabric listed is acrylic count me out. Heck even if it is the last fabric listed count me out. There were one or two that were wool and nylon only that I might buy on deep discount.

  13. Can we talk about J.Crew Home? They have pillows (including Stewart Tartan pillow - K7854) and a cable-knit throw (K7852). That throw is the same blend that those stretchy "supersoft" sweaters are made of - wonder what it would look like after being used a couple of times. Out of all of the diversification efforts they've tried over the last couple of years, this seems the strangest... but not totally surprising with the president coming over from West Elm.

    1. If I wanted items for my home...I would not be looking at J Crew.

    2. Also seems like a strange strategy if they are going after a younger target. Nail polish and string bikinis, okay, but throw pillows?

  14. There are still issues, but like I said, I'm cautiously optimistic based on this rollout & continue to be curious about all the changes coming up. I believe I heard there will be new influences on the design starting in the spring. I also think they are coming out with a new brand soon geared towards younger women.
