Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    2. like retail Factory was better 6-8yrs ago. now quality is so poor I never shop there. once in awhile factory did a version of some of the higher end retail items and they seemed to sell ...but I have not bought from factory for at least 4yrs..I find everything too short and I am 5'5"

    3. I should add...I used to go to the Outlet Malls a few yrs back. after reading artcile about the differences in how factory merch is made etc. (so low quality) I have not shopped them at all. I think expanding (or putting more $$ in to factory) is a bad decision..

    4. How long did Nevereven/Nevermore last? Will those clothes show up in Marshalls? Strangely, fixing the website doesn't seem to be a priority for anyone.

    6. I think anything that leads to increased focus on the main line is a good move at this point. I've also wondered if they would combine J. Crew and Madewell at some point because they are getting to be so similar.

  2. They need to return to their core - they have gotten too far away from their core audience trying to be all things to all people. The niche they once occupied is still not occupied. Talbots is trying and Brooks Brothers has one foot in it - but J Crew did quality, preppy with a twist clothing that we all loved. Now it's gone.

    4. Well put, Brooks Brothers has one foot in it. Zac Posen is designing a lot of their stuff these days. I bought a pair of sharply cut, lined navy gab trousers back in Sept. Paid full price for them with the expectation that I'll wear them for ten years. My J. Crew 120s have given out and there's nothing at Crew to replace them for the quality.

    5. It's one of the few places I have seen Merino Wool Turtlenecks that aren't paper thin. I don't mind paying for good classic quality. They have a tartan dress that I would love to own (fully lined too) in wool but I have nowhere to wear it.

    6. I'm a huge Brooks Brothers fan, too. Their made-in-Scotland cashmere sweaters and no iron shirts are very nice. I also have a charcoal wool jacquard blazer and an embroidered cotton sweater that are amazing.

    7. Huge BB fan here too! Pricey, but their quality is superb. I feel their styles will stand the test of time, unlike the ruffle craze of 2015-17 at J.Crew.

  3. I’m not buying any more from JC until my Black Friday/Cyber Monday orders ship. I have no idea what will work or if anything will actually arrive. I’ve already gotten three separate emails telling me that the items “will arrive on time but are shipping later than expected,” which the 85% of the time in the past was followed days later by cancellations. But if anyone is still shopping, I see new things added to the sales section online. Yesterday I added a few things to my cart to try the SNUGGLE promo and nothing in my cart changed in price. Not sure if the code wasn’t working or just a lot of exemptions.

    1. Same here, eeps, and I’m annoyed. I have very low tolerance for slow shipping and incompetence in general. It’s been a full week since I ordered and my order has still not shipped. I ordered soon after midnight, when the promo first started, so I’d expect it to be one of the first fulfilled. Obviously that didn’t happen. I won’t be at all surprised to receive a “we wish we had enough” e-mail, even though everything was in stock when I ordered and for many hours after. You knew you’d have a lot of orders to fulfill on Black Friday weekend, J.Crew. Why didn’t you hire/schedule extra staff? Why are you always so unorganized and unprepared?

    2. I also am fully anticipating that my three outstanding items will be cancelled. I also received the don’t worry, your item is on schedule email. Why bother to send this if you are unsure the order will ever be filled? The items were for me not gifts so it is just money saved if they are cancelled. I ordered from several other retailers and all items have at least shipped already if they haven’t already been delivered. This Black Friday weekend was a fiasco for them for sure and now discontinuing a line that launched barely two weeks ago (that no one asked for or needed) just spells more trouble. I feel they may never right the ship and quite honestly for the most part I have moved on to other retailers anyway.

    3. Canadians are really hooped. we pay $12. it takes 10 days (this is to Vancouver ) and with postal strike (leg. back to work) over ..the back log. we have no idea when orders will be arriving.
      sale on black friday and cyber monday was good..if you got on the site when it was up and running...so who would shop now?

    4. Same - I ordered on BF very early in the AM and no movement on my orders. At this point, I wouldn't even care if they were cancelled. Still trying to get my last mail-in returns straightened out. Maybe 2019 is the year JC and I break up (and never ever get back together, weeeee!).

    6. I ordered the early morning of Black Friday too with the ship to store option. My order confirmation stated I should expect my order by 12/5. Since it's all summer stuff that's fine, but I was initially surprised by the delivery date.

    7. Yes, why would anyone shop at J. Crew now? Placed two orders between BF and Cyber M, one finally shipped out today and the other is still pending. I don't think they will be cancelled but JC has been much slower than other retailers. With no good sales, and super slow shipping no need to shop this week at JC.

    8. IMO, they roll out Holiday too late in the game compared to other retailers. I'm attending a holiday party with little_lining this weekend and if I ordered things for us to wear, we'd be out of luck. (I ordered her a tartan dress from H&M in early November, and I'm wearing the cotton navy shirtdress from the summer with old-school JC tartan belt and headband, and red Boden point-toe flats). And they're going to be rolling out potentially more Holiday next week? That's tough.

    9. I have two BF orders still pending and one w a delivery date of 12/5. Seems like the website was only a part of the operational issues lately. J Crew is not the only retailer this happens to - but it certainly isn’t encouraging customers to stay with them through other disappointments.

    10. I agree with silver_lining, J.Crew rolls out Holiday stuff too late. And who knows how much of it will be back ordered, arriving even later in the season. The Factory order I placed on BF finally shipped today. The retail order I placed on Cyber Monday is still processing. I've already received (and worn!) other orders I placed over Thanksgiving, from Pandora, Ralph Lauren and Shopbop.

  4. Interesting last point in the Bloomberg article, that e-commerce shipping costs are eating into their profits. Which explains why those of us in Canada haven’t had free shipping since the rewards program started. And I wouldn’t place too many bets on free shipping continuing even for rewards members, if it’s a big enough $ concern.

    1. Hi cagliari67 - I've noticed that on occasions when my orders sit "in progress" for a super long time, JC then sends them expedited at no extra charge. If they do this for a lot of orders they couldn't fulfill in a timely manner, that's a lot of $$$.

  5. I've actually lucked out and all my JCrew purchases have been delivered minus one which is on its way.

    Gap/old Navy is making me nervous tho. 2 of six items from one order shipped but there's no tracking info. Just says order processed. The other items are still sitting in pending. They're gifts for the kids and I don't want to have to reshop for gifts in the middle of December because these orders never arrived. Grrrr.

    I also got the JCrew catalogue with coupons. I believe I saw someone say another round of new arrivals? Maybe I'll keep splurging on myself ;)

    1. MissJR, how did you luck out with the fast shipping? As far as Gap, after their 2016 Black Friday fiasco, where orders didn’t ship for almost a month, I stopped shopping there.

    2. kind of wishing I Had not ordered. its going to be a gong show getting pkgs to Canada. and with all the mistakes being made on my being credited back for returns. I dread the fact I will have to do returns because I had to order two sizes in some items..

    3. i have no idea how all my jcrew packages arrived so fast. one was basically overnighted too.

      even with the slow shipping, gap/ON has been pretty good to me in the past so i'm a little surprised at this. if it were just clothes for me, i wouldn't care so much... but this stuff is for nieces/nephews sooooo aunt santa wants to make sure she gets it all.

    4. I place a Gap order on Black Friday and just received it yesterday, Thursday. I've had pretty good luck ordering from them this year. Love that they have sweaters in tall sizes!

  6. I placed orders Thanksgiving night & one order on Cyber Monday; everything has shipped. I’ve received 3 packages and the others will arrive next week. Those orders include summer stuff from SZ Blockprints, so no immediate need. Going to stop in this weekend for a couple of returns.

  7. I wish they'd bring back Collection so I could get some well made clothes from J Crew. Their cashmere sweaters from years ago were so nice. I miss that and would pay for it. Maybe I'm the only one though. (actually, I'm not - I've talked to others who feel like I do. Buying cheap clothes only gets you a closet full of cheap looking clothes .)

    1. Have you tried Everlane cashmere? I got so tired of the cheap, pilling cashmere from J Crew, so I ordered a crewneck pullover from Everlane. I've had it a year, no pills. It's soft and thick and was only $100 full price. I haven't ordered a sweater from J Crew since.

    2. I second Everlane cashmere. I bought my first sweater a couple months ago, a thick waffle knit in a lovely shade of light blue, and it's held up beautifully. I wear it at least once a week. I haven't had to de-pill and I'm anticipating it looking nice for years. It's so soft and cozy as well. $145 full price and totally worth it.

  8. I placed two orders last Friday/Monday and neither shipped. The only item I'd like right away is the embellished fair isle, otherwise what's the point? Holiday events are starting early this season.

  10. Two things: I received my cotton mockneck sweater in modern red from Gap. I wanted to wear it with my lace pull on pants from last year but the textures don't work, that said aside from the color (wish it was black) it's really substantial and warm, the style is probably not the most flattering but it's comfy and with jeans and red shoes (I have many) for the price it works. I paid under $25 with some Gap rewards and promo. It's $42 now although Gap cash is available, it doesn't seem like as good a deal unless you need a lot of stuff.

    I'm still waiting for my embellished fair isle to ship but reviews are terrible for fabric and fit. I was hoping to wear it with jeans, denim Ryders, etc... maybe it's a good thing because if it's not here in a few days I don't want it unless it's on clearance.

    3. Exactly. I'm almost over it, now it's got to be great. I remember last year Ema (crazy about Jcrew on IG) ordered the Stewart plaid skirt for a party and it came late or not at all...it was adorable but so limited in how you could wear it, why would one want it after the event?

    Off for card members... 12/1-12/3....I have 4 orders not moving at all from “in progress”.... it’s annoying...

    2. I bit on this one. Again.
      Hadn't noticed this previously but ordered a cashmere tunic sweater with wide side slits. Notsure how the length will work but thought over a button down with my leather pants. With the extra15 off it's a fair price.
      Red wide leg crop pants, loved these in store, less at home but for under $20 I tried regular and tall length.
      Reordered balloon sleeve turtleneck for quite a bit less (haven't worn it yet) and merino turtleneck which I already have.
      Now I'll donate some of my sweater blends and try not to buy more.

      I had to stop myself from a few other sweaters. The yes no sweater is cuter than I thought in person and that long double breasted sweater looks so cozy for around the house but both look like they'd pill.

I did look for my size and bookmark the snakeskin captoes also,the black are so comfy and I love them. I'm glad to hear you're giving the red pants another whirl,they'll be great on you!!

    6. Reviews said it ran large. I tried XXS, XS and S and preferred the looser fit of the S. If you're short waisted or want it to be more fitted I think you can size down but I preferred my usual size

  12. I got a gift card for $50 off an order of $150 in the mail yesterday. It said it was a cardholder perk. Maybe others have gotten these? It's good until February, which is great because I haven't seen a lot except the Collection jacquard skirt that I pre-ordered recently with a bunch of stacked codes and gift cards.

  13. Just had a great customer service experience. Received the holiday catalog yesterday w the two promo codes. Called to request a price adjustment, and was cheerfully given two substantial credits for two of the three orders I placed last week on top of the extra 50/60 for BF. The codes were good for a month but I figured those orders will be bigger than any others I will place before the holidays. It’s too late to order any more “holiday” stuff for me - I’ve already got what I need for myself and gifts.

  14. Yay. Finally able to post here again. I was locked out of my Google account and tried everything and nothing worked until I logged out and back in. I am not receiving Jcrew emails and had to sign back up. Getting plenty of Factory emails and I hardly never shop at or order Factory. I also had to change my catalog preferences to get a catalog mailed again so I will probably miss the holiday mailing. Uggh! What is the cardholder code for the extra 15%. Is it an individual or public code? Thanks in advance. I missed being able to contribute!

    3. My Style Guide came with a red postcard insert w two 15% one-use codes so that’s what I used. I forgot about CARDPERKS, silver-lining. Sometimes that has worked for me, sometimes not. I need to remember to try that.

  15. Browsing again today and the code seems to be working on more items. I am oddly drawn to the faux fur cropped coat in burgundy. Does anyone have this to comment on sizing? Reviews are great - I'm a 6 on top and am debating between the S or M. With the two codes it will be less than $100.

    1. Can’t comment on the fit of this particular jacket, but I have a burgundy faux fur swing coat that I wear constantly throughout the winter! Best impulse buy ever, and it totally works in our Toronto/Buffalo winters

    4. Ordered those pants too. It’s a great price for silk pants and the print is really nice. I also ordered Collection cashmere tunic sweater in navy (Thanks @ Suz Has). Planning to layer with Italian cashmere tees. I love tunics and hoping this one works well, so I can pack it for travel after Christmas.

      Stopped in store to make returns and sale was 50% off too.

    5. The Tippi is my go-to for basic styling. It looks like the pants have a lighter blue and pink in the print so I have a lighter blue that might work but I'm thinking maybe black or navy for something slightly less "matchy." Also, a bright pink turtleneck would pop the pink and pink and green are always great together. I have an older white/silver strip Crew t-shirt that will probably work too. Accessories: layered potato pearl necklace and earrings or a large silver earring. Shoes: probably nude pumps or maybe snow leopard heels if I feel wild. lol.

      I just bought my son 3 Bruder trucks so I really should not be buying anything else! But they're so pretty!

  17. My order from 11/23 still has not shipped (supposed to be here by Wednesday). I placed two orders this morning. One for several girls necklaces for less than $2 a piece. The other for the Point Sur teddy coat (cheaper than my non-shipped order from 11/23) and the Merino Turtleneck with Side Slits in burgundy. I just hope they can start shipping some things. I can only imagine how backed up everything is from last week's sales.

  20. I caved and placed another order. All sale items: dress shirt for hubby for $21, camo pants for my daughter $25, and suede belt for her for $12. I got me a silk shirt in dark pebble for $33. Hoping it’s better then the summer version since I returned 2, after they ripped after a single wear..... still have some returns to do next week( suit for hubby).... was a steal for his birthday!!

    J Crew doesn't seem to be responding to emails..?sent a couple of them regarding slow shipping ...hoping to have $12 bucks waived. I have placed a bunch of orders again. so I am up to $60 Canadian $.

  23. Doing a happy dance over here! Scored one of my unicorns: the brushstroke dress and I even got it in a tall size!

    Also, none of my Thanksgiving orders have shipped. I’m most worried about all the deals I scored for my daughter (about 10 tops each about $6). C’mon j crew! Wednesday is coming up fast. Will my items be overnighted or will they send and email saying there is a delay. Who knows.

One of my BF orders shipped yesterday so I let myself make a single orde today: I love the jungle cat print so much and I ordered the silk blazer during Cyber Monday so I picked up the matching pants, medium pouch and card case today. Also a sale Tippi in pale blue purchased to match with the pants. I would get matching shoes but I’ve seen them IRL and not a fan of the embellishments.

  26. I'm losing track of my orders but I think I,have about 5 outstanding since Black Friday including a few this weekend. 😳

    Tonight I got popback of the camo toothpick in tall for my taller daughter and myself. I had tried them on when they first came out in the regular length but I,think the tall will work fine, and my daughter is 5'11" and oddly enough I looked at her jean size this week while we were away so I hope it works out. We both wear our camo foundry pants often and I haven't seen these on sale at all previously.

    I also ordered charcoal Point Sur straight leg jeans in two sizes and a bunch of candles...figured they can be nice hostess gifts if they ever show up.

  28. Orders are not being fulfilled in order! Of five outstanding orders, I just got a shipping notification for part of an order from 2 days ago... but nothing for my orders placed on BF or CM. I also emailed for help applying codes and haven’t heard back for 6 days now. I am used to dismal shipping times but the slow CS response is new to me.

    1. Agreed. I've had better luck calling lately, as much as I hate to use the phone. I got a UPS notification that an order shipped but i actually think it was one from this weekend, not the two or three earlier ones. However my Black Friday order says it will arrive by thurs so who knows.
