JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

    1. Just checked one item I’d been considering: Metallic block heel sandals were ~$50 a few days ago, now they’re $113 CAD? Enjoy your shoes J.Crew, because I won’t be buying them.

    3. Point Sur seaside pants have also been jacked up to $87.99 vs ~$53 CAD last week. Summer pants, get ‘em just in time for Christmas at increased prices!

  2. What is everyone wearing for US Thanksgiving? I have on the pink marled turtleneck from last year with an old navy blue/white striped button up, dark jeans, and Tory Burch flats. We have a casual day at home with a small gathering this year. I hope everyone has a great holiday!

    1. I used to really enjoy the "What are you wearing today?" posts that used to be posted here years ago for holidays! But I'm wearing all easy Eileen Fisher pieces in black today, since I'm doing all the cooking, lol. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

    2. Loved those posts too! I'm wearing a mix of brands: Vince leather leggings, Helmut lang mixed media wool/leather tunic (layered w/Collection sleeveless leather shell that was a Clearance Store find...those were the days) and Gucci ace sneakers. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving holiday! I'm baking a peach cobbler & headed to my grandmother's home to celebrate with family.

    3. Right now I'm wearing leggings and a new balance athletic top. Because I'm cooking! And because we are doing Thanksgiving on Saturday when the kids will be visiting. Then I will wear my lichen green Collection velvet blazer, the embellished striped perfect shirt, gold Academy bow loafers (going right over the top!) and royal blue corduroys (old Factory matchsticks).

    4. J Crew chambray tunic (old), JC black leggings (old), and the burgundy longer cardigan sweater from Mercantile (this year). Paired it with some velvet slip on sneakers in burgundy. We did Thanksgiving lunch so we can enjoy leftovers all night long. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

    5. Camel Tippi (Fall '12), High Rise Skinny jeans in Kirk Wash, red Factory Ceces, and a red vintage apron with white seahorses on it that belonged to my grandmother. Soon, navy weekend skinny sweatpants, ivory/navy striped waffle henley, and long shawl cable cardigan for couch lounging. Happy Thanksgiving!

    6. Happy Thanksgiving! The only J. Crew thing I ended up wearing were my Cece flats. I thought I was going to wear a Boden wrap dress but ended up going more casual to match other family members with a tunic and leggings.

    7. Hope everyone had a good holiday!

Wound up wearing American giant black leggings, JCrew factory tunic and a cream Irish button front sweater (blarney woolen mills). I saw my nephew and usually there's a lot of running around (literally) so I wanted to be comfortable. But we wound up just playing a bunch of board games inside since it was so cold.

  3. Happy thanksgiving every one!!! Lots of price changes and up instead of down...lol. I did some damage at Tory Burch late last night when they added some sale items... bought a black reversible belt $83( little much but I figured it’s a classic), Wyatt riding boots for $210, and reversible tote in silver maple....for $195. The bag was on my birthday gift list... was going to get the Henri Bendel jetsetter back back.... but ended up with this.... my birthday is tomorrow.... can’t wait to get these items on Tuesday.

    1. Dolce and Gabba Portofino Halter Dress and Stuart Weizmann espadrilles. JCrew cashmere featherweight, (good old days one:) Had to attend a Thanksgiving Day event here on Palm Beach Island with a bunch of stuffed shirts ugh! Back home to Monaco for Xmas thank goodness and Paris or Venezia for New Year’s. Wish my parents were still alive, I have no other family except hubby and doggy so this year is a sad one. Not only for me but thousands more, suffering far worse. My heart is with those who are suffering so much more. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.

    1. Pretty shirt Kate. I have the embellished striped perfect shirt - I bought it at the Shop like Black Friday at my store. I like the embellishment better on your pick, but I'm more a stripes girl than a ruffle girl.

    2. I have the stripe one as well😂.... I love it... I wore it few times. Now have to figure out how to dry clean cs wash. It’s great shirt.... it goes witn everything.... black, grey, navy, ....

    3. I was considering a quick hand wash without a long soak, and then drain on a towel and hang dry. I carefully ironed mine when I got it home, so I know that works.

  5. well, after trying 3 different sizes, the Watercolor Skirt and my hips have failed to reach an accommodation, soooo - today’s outfit: navy 120s Paley pants, navy & white horizontally striped silk shirt (sigh - memories of Marissa), navy & silver Missoni jacket. Oh, and I’m only trying one more size of the Watercolor Skirt, and then I’m done with it.

    1. The watercolor skirt looks way tight on the model shot. It isn't your hips, it is the skirt!

    2. It looks really tight on the model! Especially the side view!
