  1. Since we have 20 vents and no loves so far, I will say that 1) Free shipping with the rewards program is awesome, and they actually unexpectedly sent my order from the new rollout (all in one package!!!) via 2-day air so I should get it today! And 2) This new rollout has me hopeful that we will see more color and tailoring and keep-forever items, and less trend-chasing items in the future. Fingers crossed, J. Crew!

    1. Echoing these sentiments. My order of new arrivals was placed on Tuesday and arrived today. That never happens! The liberty perfect shirt in fuschia floral is lovely and definitely reads “fall” to me with deep pinks, plums and burgundy flowers. I am also very pleased with the navy ribbed long cardigan sweater - it feels substantial; 100% cotton (yay no acrylic mixed in!); and the ribbed texture is a nice detail. Both pieces have me feeling optimistic about what will come next as we get closer to fall.

  2. Agree, Alyssa. Rewards program definitely beneficial and the free shipping all the time will increase my orders for sure. I really like a lot of the new arrivals and am optimistic that J Crew is headed in the right direction.

  3. I've got a love-ish--the new Borg peasant top in the darker print. It came in record time. I ordered it on Tuesday and they brought it while I was home for lunch yesterday. (Wednesday) I was worried the boxy cut wouldn't work on short-waisted me, but I think it will be fine due to the blousy nature of the top. It's close to a silk chiffon texture, so it's not stiff. I tucked it into my much loved viridian green pencil skirt and bloused the top out an inch or so. (I do this with almost every top to lower my waistline.) The print is beautiful. The background color is a deep teal, not the black I thought was in the photo. It will look good with browns, beiges and probably some blacks and grays, though I didn't try it with that. I wish it had been cut more like some of the long-sleeved blouses of yore, but I can make this work and it's nice to go into fall with a pretty new top.

  5. The popback of the black and ivory embroidered cotton voile I ordered for my mom arrived today, and she looks great in it! I have been buying her clothing because I think that at 80 she should continue to look lovely. I can not recall when she started the poly-pull-on-walmart outfits, but she is liking the change.

    1. I love it! Your Mom is very lucky to have such a caring personal shopper! I buy J Crew for my 80-year-old Mom as well, and I must say she rocks some pretty awesome outfits! One is never too old to look fabulous.

    2. @Suz Has thanks! @IslandGirl great to know there is another sharp Mommy out there! We have some matching tops, but I draw the line at wearing them at the same time.

    3. I told my 77 year old mom that I would never let her wear Sag Harbor and sweatshirts with ducks on the front. She gets a lot of J Crew from me and wears it well. Style has no age!

  6. For anyone who's interested, the eyelet hem T-shirt in white is now $14.99 (down from $54.99 before the recent 30% + 10% sale promo). I bit at $14.99, since the shipping is now free. :D Not many sizes available at the moment but you know there'll be pop-backs.

I already have the navy one and love it. It's great to have the eyelet hem peeking out from under a cropped cardi etc. Adds another layer of interest to an outfit. The T-shirt material is also nice, not super thin but not crazy thick either.

  7. My order from new rollout day just arrived...and while I have to exchange two things for smaller sizes (cmon now, size games), I am keeping everything, and I haven't said that in quite a while. I got the Abigail Borg shirtdress and it's a love for me. It is poly, but lined and well cut, very flattering. I couldn't tell online that it buttons all the way down...so I can keep a button or two open at the bottom for a slightly more open look. Beautiful print!
