Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Super excited I was able to nab the Madewell Leather button-front skirt, when it popped back and it wasn't marked final sale. I wasn't able to get the sweater I wanted at the same time, so I hope I can convince customer service to extend the 15% off promo I had to that item if it pops back tonight :/.

    1. Yay! I was able to get the skipper cardigan sweater this morning and the customer service rep honored the 15% off.

    2. Which 15%off Promo from Madewell?

    3. If you entered their Getaway sweepstakes last in June they sent out an email mid July saying you didn't win, but here is a conciliatory 15% off code good until August 8th.

  2. I finally got a pair of Corsica wedges (G4182). Yay for a popback a couple days ago in almost all sizes. I wear 7.5 or 8 and opted for the 7 based on having tried them on in the past and the online reviews.

I love the seersucker bow skirt (G5455) even though it's not the most flattering for my waist. I'm going to "make it work." TTS. And I also got the strapless Lomelina blouson swimsuit in navy (B8137). I love J Crew swim. I size up one to an 8.

    2. Yeah, I recently bought the Plunge V-neck bikini top and Low-rider bikini bottom in Italian matte and I really love the fit. The top makes the girls look good without a bunch of unnecessary padding. I have always been a big fan of JCrew swim. I'm a 32C, size 4 on top and the small fit perfectly. The bottoms I got in a medium and I am a size 6 on bottom. I would still prefer a slightly more cheeky cut on the bottom, but it is a big step up from the very granny looking Bikini bottom in Italian matte.

    3. I really like those Corsica wedges. Are they very narrow? I have a medium to rather wide foot.

    4. Hi everyone! Pat, the Corsica are a M width, imo. I didn't find them to be narrow when I tried them on. My foot is M as well.

  3. Is the website down? I kept getting the error page. Maybe they have finally gone belly up! (just a joke!)

  5. Completely off topic: TJ Maxx has a few different Barbour jackets on their website. SHIP89 for free shipping with $89 purchase. Also saw a few Kate Spade items. You cannot search by designer. I searched "quilted" and "waxed" and the Barbour outerwear came up.

  6. Stopped in to Crew make a few returns.
    Sale section was uninspiring.
I walked through but nothing new on my wish list aside from some shoes of interest (the last thing I need).

Madewell had some cute things too but nothing that jumped out at me as a must have right now. They do bandanas very well.

  7. Stopped in to make returns and they gave a 15% discount card. I haven't received that before, maybe I'm late to the party. Anyway, it must be used in store so I ordered the Tweed Averys. They didn't have them in store so time will tell.

    1. I never have before, I wondered if this was a "thing" I wasn't getting.

    2. Yeah, my local JCrew hand these out pretty regularly with online returns.

    3. My stores have stacks of them at the register; I've been given one only once, and never used it. Honestly can't remember the last time I purchased a store item (do online pickups/returns only).

    4. I've only received one once but like Wendy I've seen them near the front cash.

  8. I finally got the collared Tippi which I love; I especially appreciate how easy it is to fasten and unfasten the button in the back and how sturdy and crisp the collar feels. Everything else I've ordered I returned.

Almost all my money has been going to Madewell recently. The only thing I have my eye on at J. Crew is the satin slides in floral embellishment in the sandstone colorway. I have zero need for them but they're lovely and I'll probably nab them if there's any sort of coupon or sale in the near future.

  9. Wore a 2016 Madewell skirt for the first time this year. I was almost considering selling it because I really don't want to have unworn stuff, but I realized I do really like it. I paired it with another 2016 Madewell piece, the bellshift tank and a wide belt to approximate a dress. Pic on IG @wearthislikethis.

I noticed Blair Eadie of Atlantic Pacific wearing a pair of wide leg olive green pants and now I'm annoyed I didn't keep or reorder the Cotton Canvas high waist pants in burnished moss. I guess I'll be stalking for a popback. 😜 (I think the j.Crew ones are more flattering rhan the ones she's wearing in the post.)

    1. Yes, though I went in for a return and store pickup, and a few new arrivals look cute. I like the stripe shirt Ina showed on Instagram, the NY sweatshirt, and the slim camo pants. Not sure I'll purchase any of them, but they were nice to see.

    2. yup....nice to see but not to wear. at least not for me.tops are getting too short like the dresses.

    3. This summer at the crew was definitely a dud due to the lackluster styles. It saved me money so I guess it was a win for my wallet. I'm looking forward to the Fall rollouts even though I won't see Fall weather where I live until November.

  11. I will not be visiting this weekend, however, I have been in an "cooler weather state of mind", and shared one of the looks I'll be wearing this fall. Included is the J.Crew Icon Trench Coat in Plaid Italian Wool, which I absolutely adore, and cannot wait to wear again in a month or so. You can see the look here.

  13. I've been gone for a while (bought a SFH, and now I am house poor....). but I wanted to share some great customer service. i ordered a regent blazer on final sale, and after reading the reviews I decided to size up....big mistake. CS let me return it. today i went to the store to get some pants hemmed and asked if they had any guarantee about their purses (like kate spade does) and showed them my signet purse that i bought back in nov- which one side had completely unraveled. i expected them to say no it's too late, and used but no they exchanged it for one that was in store (although now i regret not getting a different color that i can wear with black, navy, etc...i originally had it in grey - super versatile)-- but didn't want to push it. So thank you J. crew!!!!

  14. No trip for me this weekend - I actually had a different kind of J Crew experience. We moved this weekend - downsized to a lovely lakefront house with HALF the closet space I had. What a challenging experience, whittling my wardrobe down to size.

What I learned is that my J Crew workhorses - Icon Trench, pencil skirts, Tippis, super 120s, perfect shirts - are non-negotiable. My new (small) closet is 99% Crew but the trendy disposable stuff went to Goodwill. Or the rag bin.

    1. good for you ! I (by choice) have the smallest closet in the house. this keeps it real
      for me.

  15. I have received a bunch of new items and not had time to try them on. Having ordered both the camo tippi and the camo jacket, I think I'll be keeping the latter only. The Tippi is cute and fits like a regular Tippi... but that's never been particularly flattering for my mid section. I think I'll get more wear out of the jacket tbh

  16. Nothing left in the sale section that interests me and only a few new pieces are on my radar. To be honest it is time for me to get back into the thoughtful purchases. The 60% off sale made me lose my mind a bit and I got caught up in the pricing and returns game. I now remember why I stopped those games as it really is a pain to keep up with. The last of my items arrived and I am now done with summer. Trying to sweep through my closet and weed out things that I have not reached for yet.

    1. Same! I didn't shop for 5-6 months and was in a much better mindset. I bit on a few things during the past few months of crazy sales. Definitely happy about a bunch of them (2 regent blazers, liberty sleeveless shirt) but the pricing games and return cycle can be too consuming!! -lep33shops

  17. Anyone own or try the drapey ruffle top? I van't decide if I should stick to TTS or size up one. It doesn't feel "drapey" enough in the midsection in my regular size.
