  1. Not a love post, commenting on how trendy camo is going to be. Just went to Gap to buy socks for my daughter and they had camo.

Even though it was on JCrew's NYFW show, I hope they don't go overboard like the OTS top.

    1. I don't like camo or animal prints so all of that is going to be a pass for me.

    2. I think camo print is an absolute travesty, is belongs in the military.

  2. JSR, I was in my store yesterday picking up a ship to store and I did notice the camo immediately when walking in. The Tippi, jacket, and both styles of pants were prominently displayed at the front of the store (no tee).

I do like J Crews version - it has a lot of forest green and pairs well w khaki shades for fall. I did buy the tee. In small doses, I think it can work as a neutral.

    1. I feel like Camo has been in for about 3 years or so. I have a few pieces and do like the trend. I received the Camo Tippi yesterday and it is on my "love" list. The colors are nice. A bit off topic but I really hope J. Crew does a few more patterned Tippis - would like to see some florals.

  3. A little thing I'm excited about...

I returned a pair of jeans to Madewell.com that I paid for partially with a gift card. When the return was processed, they sent me an e-mail with a gift card number/PIN that I could use immediately. Usually, I'd have to wait for them to issue a gift card, process and ship it which takes about a week - which was a pain for me because I have no stores nearby and would use it online anyway. I'm glad that I now have the option to use it right away and hope JC adopts a similar process.

The e-mail stated that if I wanted to use the gift card in store, I just had to print it out.

    1. I actually had it happen yesterday with a J Crew order! I was shocked to get the e-mail the same day the return was processed with the gift card number and PIN. It is such a great update.

    2. Yay! Thanks for posting - I agree that it is an update that makes sense (for once, ha!). I don't need to have a plastic gift card.

  4. I love the pencil skirts I have collected throughout the years. Some are years old and still make me happy every time I wear them. The sovereign and raj paisley and garden floral are some of my favorites. Also love that I was able to add the Gingham pencil skirt to the collection for $24. I got the pink and love it with my go to color of navy. Sad that vibrant patterned pencil skirts are now few and far between.

    1. @JessF, YES!! I love J.Crew's pencil skirts as well! I wore Punk Floral earlier this week and today I'm wearing the one with the Red Toile print (unsure of official name.) Also wore the Orange Floral with Metallic Thread from a few years ago. Although not a patterned print, I wore the White Linen with Rick-rack trim yesterday and received many compliments.

Agree with you that they are few and far between these days!! I know there will be a floral print in the upcoming rollout, but I didn't care for its design or colors. :-(

Glad you were able to score an excellent deal on your skirt! I used to have the Soverign, not sure what happened to it. One of my biggest regrets is not getting the Graphic Peony print. :-( Sniff.

    3. Ah, Gardenshade Floral. Ive worn my Coppelle Paisley and Garden Roses pencil skirts in the past couple weeks. I will cry when my lovely old prints are too tattered to wear any longer.

    4. @TM93 I missed out on the Graphic Peony skirt as well and regret it. I was able to snag the silk blouse in that print and wear it with my plain navy pencil skirt.
@Ruffles I too will cry when the old prints wear out.
Glad to see all the skirt love!!!

    1. I happened to notice that as well on her. I didn't think it was flattering on her at all and appeared a little too fitted. Interestingly enough, the blouse is sold out. I like the tiger print blouse, it's whimsical but in my humble opinion it is something one must try on and not everyone can pull it off.

  7. The weather cooled off in Madison, WI today, so I'm wearing my New York sweatshirt. I love it! Perfect for today.

  8. Love being 12 hours ahead for early morning popbacks! Bonus points to J Crew for quick shipping, less than 24 hours in most instances for regular shipping.

  9. J crew emailed me regarding a return I made using a $20 promo gift card they had sent. They re-issued the promo and gave me a new code and pin. I was able to use it for a 50% sale item. That was nice!
