Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Sort of on topic, given the silence here so far: an Atlantic piece on the demise of retail outlets (RL announced Store closure of flagship store on 5thAve!)

    1. Fifth Avenue retail real estate may never look the same again. While depressing, thanks for sharing this article.

    2. Agree, lots of eye-opening info, thanks for sharing, maqsad. I really do wonder where it's all going to end for chains like J.Crew et al. Will stores go away entirely eventually? That seems hard to believe, but when I think about how often I buy from a JCrew B&M, the instances are few and far between, with the bulk of my JC purchases done online. (I'm also Petite, so that is partly the reason.) We used to have about 3 Pier 1 Import stores here in NYC and now we're down to 0 - they, too, have been affected by slower sales & have started to shift their strategies in certain markets. (I think they still operate stores out in the suburbs, but at least the stores in the city proved to be too expensive.)

I like certain aspects of online shopping, but I would and do miss certain aspects of shopping in-store. I'm not sure what the best solution might be.

    3. US Retail Sales for Q1 will be released tomorrow and is expected to be pretty weak.

    4. Yeah. But I agree with the article in that this is a phase. Creative destruction. A new retail way of business will eventually arrive. In the meantime, however, we JCAs can gleefully run our hands and watch those closet edits bc we might be sitting on a boatload of valuable "classics"!
